next item, please. >> item three, treasury report, this is an information item. >> thank you, ms. cheng. colleagues, i begin our report this month in recommend /pwrapbs of joseph flanagan who passed away in early march. many of us knew him from district 6 as a community leader who was thoughtful and looked out for others, especially the seniors and disability community. i know commissioner kim will have remarks as well later on today. let me just say that joseph will be missed by all of us and we honor him today through our work going forward. joseph also did a lot of assistance in our offices and he really was committed to making sure that this city could run effectively. other things, vision zero represents a major initiative in culture shift with

prioritizing safety with an opening goal of zero tolerantsy policy. i want to thank the mayor and control office and our various departments. i begin to see if departments coming together on this initiative. i know the staff is working together to support the very efforts. receive we had a hearing at the board of supervisors and now the commission on board of health is taking action later this month. i have also requested support from the control's office that track progress in our 24 project in 24 months that is key to our 0-vision plan. the control's office will report to the 0-vision's commit along with other departments and g t w. later on today, we will be

considering /skp*epb expanding the size of the commissioners. we passed the board of supervisors meeting last week. and speaking of collaboration, i am pleased to see the m g a and g a's transitions from the visibility planning /stkaeupblg to /sta*eupblg to carry on in the next month. as noted at the last committee meeting last week, this program is an excellent gamble of community engagement and partnership. this is our first hand that we just broke ground on and our bike path that we just opened as well as the park commission that is approved in my district. approving transportation conditions also

requires deep partnerships between the community and agencies. >> another important piece of information we saw come forward this month was the strategic part on bike sharing. the organizational options for the /tkw-plt of so our local system from a limited initial pilot to a full blown permanent regional system. i appreciate our staff's timely work on this. we will move ahead precisely and timely in producing bike sharing. thank you shorts and andrew crab for your work on the report. finally, i want to thank several of our colleagues for travelling to washington d.c. and our region to advocate for transportation priorities. i appreciate the coordination that proceeded it which allowed

us to speak with one voice with the region and our counter parts across the state. i only wish congress were more like minded instead of being at odds on transportation which has been traditionally bipartisan. in accordance to our own local resources such as sales tax and double registration fee as well as the transportation we are considering for this fall. i look forward to continuing discussions about moving these forward in the coming movement of thank you colleagues and that /khraoudz my remarks. >> if there are no comments from the public, we can go on. any public that would like to comment on chair's remarks, please come forward. seeing none, we can go forward. this is information item. we can go on to the next item. >> hold on a second.

>> commissioner. >> i was able to go to d.c. with some of the staff from the transportation authority to basically go and advocate for the interest of san francisco and transportation with the federal money that is available to us. right now, there's a couple of funding sources that needs to be reauthorized and we're not too sure where it's going to go. that's going to give -- that's the amount of money that usually comes down to the local level. and, it was important for us as a group to team up with m g c and for services with the presidents there. i think cheng and anna are doing a good job to address the issues that we have in

services to try and go ahead and get the funding for not only the terminal that's being built and the super market but also other projects that are currently under way. >> thank you. thank you for your participation on the trip. okay. colleagues, are there any other questions? we can go on to the executive report. >> executive report. >> thank you. just following on those remarks, i want to appreciate the board for coming and joining us on the advocate trip to washington d.c.. i think it was very important for the region to see that we are fully in participation and support of the regional priorities as well as to have presence at the state wide level with the california delegation in addition. seeing our delegation in washington d.c. was a great opportunity to see how the commissions are and

what they're facing over there. it was a bit sobering to see that congress is really stuck on the sources for transportation. as my report notes, we will be seeing a highway trust fund moving to the red column by july. that's very vehiclesing for us. we rely on our previous /hraeugzs and hopefully we will have the ability to fund these for a little while. at some point, if congress does not come together with the president on a more sustainable funding source for transportation, we're going to see projects slow down and potentially have to stop. we really do want to urge everyone to learn about this issue and really work with our colleagues across the state and look for those votes in congress. it's rare but we see that even when there's pretty much an agreement between the u s chamber of congress and environmental and labor groups,

wither not seeing things like the federal gas tax which is a recommendation of the u s chamber of commerce and even our chamber of /khers to really fund our infrastructure in a responsible way. my next report is the this box. the light fund which makes $8.1 million available and for those communities that have a local housing fund. we believe that san francisco qualifies for that. the next item is i would highlight the user highway fee of ideas being /skud in california as a possible future way to help fund our state wide tax moving away from gas and it has been highlighted in washington state and/or gone state. locally, we want to mention to the public there's a public hearing for san francisco

scheduled for wednesday, april 9 at the u c f f mission bay on campus at jen tech haul hall 6 to 8:00 p.m. we are developing a contract with city agencies. chair, you did mention, joseph flanagan, there will be a celebration of life at the arc of san francisco on wednesday the 2nd at 2:00 p.m. we will be there as well to remember joseph. in terms of projects, we saw as chair avalos mentioned, the project opened for construction and we also saw the abay low path open for use which will make a milestone for our program. as we see these projects coming in, we're

opening a call for the next round of projects. just to mention, there's a 1.15 $1.15 million round of prop aa funds that has been opened and received over 5 $5 million of request. we do anticipate bringing staff programs next month. the strategic analysis report on bike sharing as chair avalos mentioned, it's available at our website and we welcome comments through friday april 4th. we will be picking this item through the plans and programs committee in the next round as an action item following the incorporation of that feedback. vision zero, fees represent interagency collaborations. we've been developing the vision zero steering toward the road map for how we can bring items forward. there was a

very well attended robust hearing at safety and that was on march 6th. there was so much testimony, we will be able to continue that, the first one scheduled for april 10th. stay tuned for that. on the mar's transportation task force, we've began briefing members. we will begin briefing your office so that we can answer questions and ensure that there is coordination and information exchange ahead of the may time frame for introducing those legislations before the fall. this is an item that will be before you all as the board of supervisors. i just wanted to highlight that we're excited to take on the role of treasure island agency. the idea here and we've brought this item through in the past is to allow us to implement this through

for a multirich program to support the development of transportation to enhance new ferry services and bus services and other mobility management strategies. two items on citizens advisory committee, geneva is still seeking a member to represent the outer mission and english elside neighborhoods. please contact this authority and you can be directed to the application. as well as the ms t c a is seeking applicants for the advisory committee as well which they will be staffing through their program over there. and, finally, we will be bringing forward a transportation command management update to you all in the next few months. it refers to a host of projects and
