other thing -- $45,000 for whatever it didn't mention, so the $50,000 and $45,000 is $95,000 goes where? in comparison, i am a community person that wanted do some videos and couldn't get a dime, not one dime. but also understand tiffany could sign for something that is under $50,000 without you even knowing about it. is that correct? >> that is correct. >> so i will be at you tiffany to ask you for things to do for our community. the other thing, i am looking at, you are going to be talking about the third amendment about the ground lease with the fillmore and then you are going to be talking about some other things here. amendment to the loan. ladies and gentlemen, i'm going to ask respectfully that you

goodness what we didn't know it was going to take so long we're incredibly excited as my career as a planner this is one of the most exist projects to see happening 17 hundred units ever housing in this beautiful neighborhood without further ado, i'm going to introduce mayor ed lee to start us off (clapping.) thank you, ken. welcome as ken said to our visitacion valley neighborhood i must say we wanted you to come down her to take a before a real big mounds of dirt start moving i think everybody should appreciate this and for a number of years 15 years is around is times when a company closed and when this happened this community certainly registered

some strong views about what this lot should be and the neighborhood has been prevent for 15 years and never gum the hope this will show you be a place to compliment the changing dynamics of the neighborhood to compliment what they needed to happen in the neighborhood and the city universal pawar gone corporation corporation and various agencies were there and we got slowed down with elimination of redevelopment. we had definitely visions that were reflective of the neighborhood through the agreement but when it become slowed down we decided we weren't going to let that stop us particularly supervisor cowen her pushing along with our city staff wanted to see things happen but the neighbors i can't

say enough their prevent but also full of positive vigor, if you will. and now we have in front of us a very 2k4rib8 i deliberate plan to create one thousand 6 hundred and 79 homes for people here. 15 percent of that will be permanently affordable to low income persons but also given the fact there hadn't been that much development in the area the rest of it we suggest all of the housing units will be assessable to people with middle incomes for the rest of the entire city that's one of the biggest go attractions to the goal we announced some 30 units of housing to get the pressure off the counter housing stock and build more where people can see the ability to get into those

homes. that's exciting but at the same time the community wasn't just about the housing that was a key anchor their about open space so you'll see and visualize hopefully with the plans of over 2 acres of open space thanks to the ta i know that tilly is here she's contributed and complimenting what we want to use transportation monies to build roads and access through the site and complimenting this site so we have those amenities as well as reflected and we've got on agreement with a private corporation that i think has been so strong in this effort they asked for help and we kept that communication very strong because they knew american

people at this time they'll pay revenue to the city. and so i've also said the city is investor confident but make sure the investors and community is honored and the cities come tooth and we look forward to go to city planning and public works and the final guidance that supervisor cowen will help as the board of supervisors and we'll see the first pad. >> of dirt turnover. we've got a historic building behind us that will be rehabbed and honored for that historic design they have and again, the reflection of the community where 25 percent of that building will be preserved for community use we have a full

service grocery stores we're going to be creative and getting that as well. all great planning and great reflection of community need and leadership. i want to again thank all the neighborhood leaders for being so prevent and creative with us pr i want to thank you for the opportunity to go thank supervisor cowen for her leadership this wouldn't have happened in all the players didn't be positive and we could put a blame easily to blame things we couldn't control yet we're here today to slblt the collaboration the government agencies and all the other entities that point this thing to happen. congratulations everyone and most importantly congratulations to the great neighborhood of

visitacion valley. thank you (clapping) >> thanks mr. mayor the next speech is supervisor cowen of district 10 she's been a tireless supporter and been calling me saying when is this going to be done. >> thank you welcome everyone and good morning. thanks for joining us on this enjoy us occasion i'm happy to be standing w her with this momal milestone for the visitacion valley and the satire city and county of san francisco. the road to where we are today is somewhat like the road you traveled today it was bumpy and treacherous but it has not been

easy we've had many meetings we've had to change course and faced with challenges but we continue to fight formal a vision that started 15 years ago. 15 years ago a vision it comes at an important point for our city no accidents that we're here today, it's by design we need to continue to advocate to keep san francisco affordable for everyone. we're here at that time, we must push for housing that's assessable for all people especially low income families this project will help deliver one thousand seven hundred units of housing 45 percent dedicated to low income housing it's part of our fight to keep san francisco affordable for everyone in our great city. when we lost the redevelopment funding in 2012, we didn't give

up and the community didn't give up all of us here standing in front of us little mayor's office of planning universal pawar gone and, of course, the people of this community came tooth to evaluate to look at the funding tools to help us move this forward and make the necessary changes it needed to foster this site transformation. is project that we see here today is really is a brilliant example of how the city and community family can come tooth and make this a reality i'm happy this is finally in visitacion valley and it's an economic boost when you look down the merchants corridor we're no dire need of its time

to get the attention we need along the southernmost part of the san francisco. and especially the members that you are former part of the cac and currently members many of them are here with us today they've worked tireless left lanesly and have many hours in shaping this a reality and thank you to each one of you who keep the vision alive our goal. i'm looking forward to our ongoing collaboration was we continue to build out and reshape our community. i particularly want to acknowledge the mayor's office of office of economic workforce development thank you for your leadership and thank you. the planning department the san francisco puc and other ocii

there mr. mayor and to supervisor cowen for your relentless commitment to the neighborhood of the east san francisco she's a fighter for the people we appreciate your work in the valley. to the countless, countless city officials and staff who stayed with this project more many, many years in some how are here today and many have moved on to retirement or the private sector but their silent contributions can not be overstated thank you so very itch from multiple agencies at state level we had the d t s c and other calvary youths who have over seen the remediation

of the site over time and have put in countless hours of cooperation to make sure this future site is according to regulations and all the people working here during the construction and during the occupancy period are teaching. to our staff anothers cac steven who put so many nights and weekends (clapping) countless into this effort. and thank you so much and our partners our mediation partners who helped to put tooth the structure for this remediation program so we could focus with our city planners with the redevelopment of the site and most importantly i want to thank the members of this community.

you have defined redefined for me, the term tenacity. i can't speak highly enough of the effort from this community to fight for the revitalization of the valley to bring some of the dollars that are being investment in san francisco to this part of town. thank you all and we landmark to our continued partnership to bring the economic vitality down in the valley. now just a historic reference. when we started this baking was in the white house. willie brown was in city hall. (laughter) the giants were still playing at candle stick across the highway over here and my 014-year-old

son was not yet born. now slaying lock had a proud history as the largest employer in this part of san francisco for over 75 years we must not forget the valuable contribution over time in 2009 when we kicked of off the remedication program some of the folks over at lock contributed and built their community in the valley joined ace and told remarkable stories of their time. and we're here to remedy them as well and look forward to having their stories shared later. but what happened since then?

in 2010, the historically used production facilities for the lock and key factories were taken down and with the help of the city and state we put in love money for the legacy ground water on this site now after 15 years it's time to get to work. so were looking forward to the first phase of construction which we hope will bring up to 5 hundred and 75 new housing units to the northern portion of this site including as the mayor said a full service grocery store and the first park to be delivered called leeland park that will

serve as a key pedestrian place for the help of the transportation agencies to the bay shore caltrain station that's cut off from visitacion valley this is a key transportation process that will be part of the valley and contribute to the congestion on on the highways and the green house gas emissions to the atmosphere. that investment in the first phase should top $230 million we're looking forward to working with the city and working with the community to make it is. so it's time to get to work i look forward to turning dirt and appreciate everybody coming to appreciate this milestone today so thank you (clapping.) thank you, john than. our next speaker is fran martin

who is semianonymous with teaching in the visitacion valley and fran and i go back to 1999 we're agreed to san diego and she's here to talk about how happy we are here today >> (clapping) >> wow. can't building we're all here. i want to thank mayor ed lee and supervisor cowen and all the city officials and staff particularly from the transportation authority tilly chang has been involved in this veil for 15 years now head of the transportation authority. and also planning department ken. he's like a son and o e w d we've been working closely with them thank you all for coming out to visitacion valley as well

as steven and jonathan it's grifrt to see the locate come it's been 15 years and my husband in the living room some of the neighborhoods are here today and thank you for coming you've been here all along (clapping) our numbers grow with the idea that they're a revitalization company we've got community planning and oishtd the planning which help to fibd our new library and streetscape improvements and we brought an eric fashion our little neighborhood debated two powerful companies for a better

neighborhood take that home depot. (laughter) from the bin this has been a community driven project and a long fought battle. which is a clean of a toxic eyesore done in the middle of our community and a transformation into a beautiful healthy community that will spiritually revitalize the consultant with housing and jobs. along with the recession of the old office building. we still seek to astronomers visitacion valley to be a model for green transportation development that will help to replace the affordable housing stock in san francisco. we have reached this important milestone we have a long way to go we need the city to help us to bring this up to the city

standards thank you. again everybody (clapping.) and last but not least doug fong another committed community member he's been with us the whole time doug. (clapping.) >> thank you to everybody 7 or 8 years of meeting is a lot of details in all the meetings started out with the planning alliances to stop the home depots effort and the fact there's four generations the residents to come ail the toddlers crawling along this ground and people of all races and background and translators at our meetings it's a fantastic neighborhood like all san francisco neighborhoods this is one. this is one that only recently, i think that's central city

government is paying attention to it's been a quiet community known symptoms for unfortunate crime incidents but when you get into the community and at that particular time in this you find that's a community that represents all san franciscans but with an if you're willing to work with us we're going to make it happen if not for all the great work from the city departments we've got a wonderful developer i how many developer will come in that doesn't own the land it's toxic having looked at the investors, you know, tens of million dollars before getting to this point i'm glad to be here to kick occupying oh, this moment there's a lot of work needs to be done and especially the developer and to know that and promise that the community is going to be here all the way to
