shapes the neighborhood i've followed this and regularly attending the moscone board meetings and participate in the moscone examinations participatory group i heard support the project but i support the expressed concerns of my colleagues in a balanced neighborhood. so one of my comments i'll limit to item eir four relating to pedestrian impacts that's deemed to be less than significant it doesn't match my experience i realize if so an incredulously it's in need of mitigation with nothing going on. i didn't see my analysis any points talking about the conventional days that were also on giants days.

francisco i'm grateful you're hearing this item i know many of you on the planning commission a number of years when the project was approved you have before you today has been formed by an extensive feedback, in fact, we've had over 18 public meetings to discuss the design controls to public benefits and after the enclosures of the schlage lock we partnered with universal paragon corporation to develop a plan for the reuse and revitalization of the critical site in their community. now several years of analysis and extensive community plan process concludes with the zoning changes and a detailed master plan to guide the change. however, with the demise of the

redevelopment agency in early 2000 and the loss of tens of millions of dollars dollars of tax implement funding required us to reaccess and come to the table with a fresh look at the communities goals for this proposal. and for this particular site it's been challenging to move forward without the redevelopment funds but the community especially the advisory committee have been incredibly flexible and rolled up their sleeves so you have before you today accomplishes many of the goals of the original project that cluts includes a grocery store and new public parks and small property

owner and affordable housing and the restoration of the historic office building and the payment of the development impact fees including the visitacion valley extra no other fee and a special transportation fee and most importantly a significant investment in the community that has historically lacked attention and t is finally getting the attention it deserves it can be controversial trust me i know about controversy in projects got several on my plate this particular project has had true community support that's been a honor to represent the southeast portion of the city that and there's not a day going by i don't hear from the neighbors
