improve the northeast neighborhoods he got things done and in particular telephones a huge advocate for the north beach and broadway neighborhoods as a stave for our office of economic workforce development. i can spend a long time but i'll highlight he organized our lower porlg a polk street and the farmer's market and spearheaded efforts on the alley. he organized the rural festivals between chinatown and north beach he led the in which business association of lower polk neighbors and did much of the work to form the broadway cv d and he also assisted with

other festivals shell was a 25 veteran of the restaurant bar and nightclub industries i think we're in shock over the loss of a leader and friend. this past weekend i spoke to shells parent and shared with them how we all appreciated and loved their son today in our audience we shall joined by shells brother and sister and on behalf of the neighborhoods and friends we want to thank you for sharing our family webb member with our city. potentially one of his lasting legacies is the lower polk district i saw an e-mail at the end of last week before he passed saying the finally a balance was mailed i know all of

only paris are lowering speedometers in order to reduce accident with this i'm requesting you study the impacts following this practice will bring to san francisco. recent studies have off and on that slower speeds help save lives. cars traveling 20 mile-per-hour 40 percent of people survive here in the united states new york has evaluated speedometers so new york in its vision zero is loouktd this policy change and paris began with a project where speedometers were capped at the 20 mile-per-hour and in scheduling it saves the

$120 million as a result of fewer accident in the united kingdom there's less accident and slowing moving cars reduced the green house gases and it is a positive change. my request for the project analysis one what can we learn from national and international that has changed their speedometers and how many lives can be saved by reducing speeds by the 5 or 10 miles per hour and what's the environmental savings and other questions. the successful implementation of vision zero set a standard for san francisco to have no fatalities on our street to achieve this we must make sure that the streets are safer and a
