loud. >> eliminating police condition number 3 as requested by the police. so the conditions are no extended hours permit in the future. it didn't say in the future no third party preordainment's unless registered by the entertainment commission and valid security cards and e-mail event calendar and 6 security cameras to be installed and i'm going to add the word outside and no event associated with party buses or pro tem's >> so what's been struck is the lead training because he requested that and what's been amended is number 6 having security cameras specifically outside.
1:01 pm
>> can i be recognized for clarification because since we're down here and you're now considering a condition around extended hours and have had discussion around optional i have a hard time enforcing this i need you to consider how you can maybe on the record get some acknowledge if that's the police department after but not inserting something that's problematic like the in door commission. >> i want to amend my motion some of the conditions already exist point out no third party's unless by the entertainment commission exists and guard
1:02 pm
cards exists so let's leave in i'm going to change my motion in two seconds here i want to let's leave in the party buses, security cameras and e-mail the calendar, and that's it. >> that's it. >> i want to amend my motion i move to approve including police conditions number 5, and 7 and number 6 to be amended to say outside. that's my motion >> exterior. >> what. >> exterior cameras. >> outside cameras. >> so you want to say outside. >> you want to second. >> is it clear to people barbara you look a little bit
1:03 pm
confused. >> all right. so we're going striking number one which talks about after hours. >> extended hours right. >> because it was never applied for they can't do it. >> right. >> i also see there's a requirement in the neighborhood so he'll have to go through a whole new planning process to get the extended hours anyway. >> that makes sense. >> so is it clear what we're voting on the motion stands let's take a vote. >> on the motions to approve the striking police conditions 1 to 4 and keeping in 5 and 6 with the exterior or outside cameras and number 7. commissioner campagnoli. commissioner lee. commissioner joseph. commissioner hyde. commissioner perez. commissioner akers. president tan. congratulations >> good luck. >> your now putting it on the
1:04 pm
door. >> i blaze that trail on 7th street. >> number b this is wicks.com they've applied for a limited live performance permit they had one on mission strata few years ago they've moved and now in the ocii district the new development agency property or area so we're getting their approval rather than the planning so this is continued they want the option to provide entertainment fy for their employees and baby view station has admitting met with them with no additional conditions. >> bring up ashley. >> hello, everyone. >> hi. >> i'm very short. >> me, too.
1:05 pm
>> thank you. so i'm ashley the community partnership manager for wicks on a platform that empowers small business owners to help them develop their website and understand the business community and better develop product so we do a lot of workshops and classes but will be doing an occasional event or bring together a mixer he or work on doing a speed dating invite and people that are putting up a tech produce so we did the outreach to the mission bay action committee and hockney spoke with them last week they fooemd seemed to be happy about the community outreach and i also handed outlay out of the
1:06 pm
floor space i have as well as if you want to see that that shows our event space is one hundred percent in the interior we'll not be doing anything outside 83 and it's facing away from the residential side of the building so the residents are separated and i think that's everything. any questions >> commissioner hyde. >> so you're talking about like bands occasional every once again. >> maybe a dj once in a while mostly workshops. >> do you have your own sound system you've used before. >> not renew u right now the space is being built out but weigh e we'll do deliberate,
1:07 pm
premeditated killing not elaborate. >> are you planning to rent the space or the programming you offer. >> occasional we'll sponsor an event and those will be with small business organizations within the community. >> other questions. commissioner perez >> are you located in mission bay near peer 44. >> i just moved to san francisco to be honest i'm not one hundred percent we're going near the ball park i know i'm sorry. >> all right. any other commissioner questions? if not, you having, have a seat. it looks like there's no police conditions >> is there any questions on
1:08 pm
their.com i don't see any. >> make a motion to approve the application. >> i second. >> no more decision. >> same house, same call? >> all righty so approved. great congratulations. we're going to move on to 7 c the hotel >> so one knob hill doorknobs the mary come back kins hotel they've had a change of ownership so we have two gentlemen representing the hotel. come on up. >> good evening my name is difficult i'm the general manager we did have a change in ownership and are here to have that name changed from ss h
1:09 pm
associates to one knob hill and the entertainment license to change the name everything else remains the same and it's not a change of name but a whole new permit i wanted to be clear. >> okay. thank you. >> so commissioner hyde. >> so can you tell me about your outreach. >> i personally reached out to the knob hill president of the association and tell him about your license permit reapplication as you say and i had asked how we reach out to the members themselves and a notice in the association newsletter i have a copy of we hadn't had responses we've got individuals that come up to the
1:10 pm
top of the mark and on a response. >> so when i got the application did you see what was asked what we suggested you do. >> yes. >> can i tell them what was suggested by community outreach. >> our guidance was to send a message to the community and also to talk to our individuals that was the guidance we - >> so when you get the permit the permit asked you to do outreach to one or two of the following so there's community groups make a presentation to the community group or to community groups to talk to a nonprofit that deals with life issues in the neighborhood someone who's in charge so you can discuss your intent and also learn a little bit about integrating into their neighborhood and i did third one
1:11 pm
to gather signatures based on those who live around you or are in the area and the fourth one is escaping my mind. >> public notice. >> no what was it? >> because we had a public notice we closed. >> we're asking you to go out and integrate yourselves in the nabt one of the biggest problems with nightlife there's noise that is associated with nightlife not under our control it's important for you to understand what happens in the area i understand your hometown it a little bit different but i don't feel like you've done any outreach. >> okay we were going under the guidance of an individual that done the application this was the outreach i asked the
1:12 pm
question as well what do you maple by outreach you've begun four or five accepts further that's why i reached out to the president of the knob hill association i sits on the board they mentioned i put out a notice and obviously the members receive a that states this is what we're going to do i'll be honest the association or the members themselves you probably know it they're very vocal and they'll come to the hotel and they'll talk to me or call me i've not had any responses as such. so that's the outreach we were told we all we would need to do >> but you said on the knob hill. >> i sit on the board.
1:13 pm
>> so you'll be able to schedule a short presentation to them. >> yes. yep. >> okay. so great, thank you. >> is that something we need to do. >> i think maybe we'll discuss later when we are talking about moving 24 permit along. >> we did have the police as well as we i'll have joe speak to that. >> we've reached out to everyone on the check list and the community service we do a lot of that we send staff to them to help them and the cosby hotel. >> we had a thanksgiving dinner our staff cooks dinner for one hundred and 50 people we do a lot of outreach with the aids walk we'll hit $150,000.
1:14 pm
>> it's not that i disproof of your philanthropy but let's talk about the permit. >> so it sound like for all functional permits there's not a change in the way of the space there's only new ownership. >> nothing is changing. >> i want to be clear as well the hotel grouping u group is we're the hotel management company so we did advise the owners to have representatives here as well. >> i think, you know, to commissioner hydes point there's controversy about the theatre bringing entertainment there's a larger amount of traffic so
1:15 pm
you're telling me nothing is changing at this but it does bring an alarm we encourage all permit owners to know the new voices. so we'll see if we add that as a continue but know that's what the spirit is of commissioner hydes >> we post it every moss month and nothing has changed it's wednesday through sunday. and now we're in a movie invite we do movies and winetasting right now >> our board meetings with the knob actually meetings took place once a quarter i attended the last one at the end of the january and even though next board meeting and then they had one in april i was actually on
1:16 pm
vacation i didn't attend but the next board meeting is in july that's something if you want us to do we'll do a presentation. >> thank you any other commissioner questions or comments. >> yeah. tony grew has been there forest. >> i'm sorry. >> that's the - >> what's the room. >> the top of mary. >> there's so many rooms i met you friday i believe okay. but anyway, you know, it's been there doing this so long and everything else the neighborhood outreach is very important because the demographics have changed and the neighborhood reps want the engagement but as the industry we know it's been
1:17 pm
doing the same thing and running the same house, same call? for years but i think we're happy that you are still doing the same thing and promoting functions, you know, we encourage more hotel business. >> and we i'm sorry as a management company we appreciate it's a landmark and that's something that everybody appreciates from tourists to locals and we're in this situation based on the change of ownership we want to keep everything the way it is people appreciate it that's san francisco so we're here again to represent based on the ownership change. >> great. any last commissioner comments i don't think there's any i don't know if there's police comments
1:18 pm
officer >> hello steve from central station representing expanding captain lazzaro this is an existing hotel that's had an existing permit i can't think of a single time we've gotten a complaint a case no. or nothing like that let alone the proteins from the community i'm surprised about the remarks we fulfill support them getting their permit we recommend their approval we only request we be invited about any events outstanding like a in lieu of party you a that's why we're asking.
1:19 pm
any questions or comments >> no. thank you >> all right. any public comment on this permit application. i don't see any. commissioners a motion >> yeah. i'd like to move to approve and ask you, please do a short presentation in july. >> there's a motion is there a second. >> second. >> i just want to say it's for consistency because we ask everyone to do that if you let one person not do that we really encourage you to do that more than anything. >> on the motion to approve same house, same call? and that item passes. >> that works all right. congratulations. we're getting close to the end of the meeting item number 8 commissioners, comments or
1:20 pm
questions. commissioner joseph and then commissioner akers. >> sxho pride june 28th and 29 in front of this building on polk street on the 19 the prayed starts at the 930 from stewart street to the plaza and then the plazas opens overlooking at the 11 o'clock in the morning until 6:30. >> commissioner akers. >> yeah. i'm wondering if it's possible to get the community outreach plan suggestion, etc. a copy of that in the binder in one of the tabs maybe that we can refer to it so we don't stumble over the items. >> i wrote it in the - >> this will be great, thank you. any other commissioners
1:21 pm
comments? nope. is there any public comment >> oh, well one more. >> okay. >> just for clarification since we're still revealing, however, the final language about what we voted on at the retreat. >> has been voted on. >> and we've assembled it back together that's going out to the permit officers? >> yes. for the record yes. >> i'm sorry. can i please repeat that with when was it voted on >> the police condition we voted on the retreat there's a record you voted no. yes >> so that's vote on the decision is made we're talking about how it's recorded from the minutes which i think there are
1:22 pm
words missing and then commissioner akers asked is that going to be sent to the permit officers really for consistency sake i think each time we get requests about surveillance cameras so let's recommend they use the same language we he approval and they can throw others go things. >> i thought we were going to have a discussion about that and vote on it here? about what? >> the security camera. >> no. >> i thought we were discussing the different terminology and i you thought you guys were going to decide that. >> so i think there's. >> okay. >> there was a miscommunication
1:23 pm
so a few weeks it was unclear based on just the minutes and my impression at the retreat we voted and made a decision on the language and we're still open to february from the police. if we would be discussing it and amendinging that i doubt my recognition having a conversation is with president tan he confirmed we actually voted on that so then there was nothing from the police department in terms of recommended changes that they were fine with the language the way it was so it doesn't get put
1:24 pm
on the agenda for discussion. so, now we're having some >> great we can also revisit conditions if someone want to put that up let's do it but as far as i understand in conversations with the police they've withdrawn their requests for the hand over. >> that's my concern if people are having doubt. >> this is not on our agenda. >> even though i asked for it. >> if you want to schedule s it let's schedule it for the next agenda. >> it sounds like we're not clear we need to discuss it now it looks like we did. >> here's what is going to happen we voted on language and
1:25 pm
a we need to make sure the rshts that and we can open up the discussion again, if any commissioner times to change the language it would be nice to talk about outside of the meeting just to clarify what may have happened i think there's some loops. >> you can't talk about this outside the meeting this is a public meeting it has to for the public. >> i can talk about it to clear the matters the public can try to sunshine that all they want we made a decision we have to make sure the rshts that and we haven't clusz closed the loop and even if they're closed you want to bring it up again, you have the right to do that and if
1:26 pm
you don't want to bring it up then don't. i'm going to talk about to barbara there's loop closings to do there. anyway any more comments >> so basically to make sure we're all consistent open the language. >> yep. >> and she's not quite clear so why don't we just figure out exactly go what that language is going to be. >> is if in the minutes. >> it's in the minutes. >> good. so that's homework for people to do look at the minutes any public comment about our lively discussion we'll do the requests for future agenda items >> yeah. at the next one i want to discuss the neighborhood outreach and the implementation
1:27 pm
of the new outreach guilds and how that's gone i think this is something we should do at this point, and, secondly, commissioner perez and i have talked about wanting to do a neighborhood forum to involve neighborhood organizations and other stakeholders in discussion with us but we would like to work on explaining to them what we've worked on in the past too years as well. so if we could somehow do the safety forum we would like to do that and we'll both be happy to work with you and thinking it would be nice to have public health and you upper possibly to join us and the police, of
1:28 pm
course, but we didn't want it to be around the venues and things that the venues are fatiguing and their concerns but more integration and our outreach >> (inaudible). >> and we would like to talk about the outreach because we have forum but this is not on an agenda this is something we've working on not set in stone so if there's future discussion we'll have it then. >> for clarity didn't we do this once before. >> another one. any other many business items. any public comment on our new business items. all right. i think that concludes our meeting. meeting adjourned. have a good night
