i think it was a real pleasure serving on the commission i don't know what to expect but we did tremendous work together an important issues in san francisco. i've been honored to be able to serve with you in this capacity and try to advance some of the myself shared goals we have i'm particularly excited we worked on pace together to help san franciscans retrofit their homes in an affordable way as possible some of the work we did on toxics and the solar it was important upper talking about today president. i said even though i'm not sitting up there even though i've got my ticker going down here i prefer not having the

hall. commissioner gravanis >> thank you, commissioner commissioner wan as excused because there's four meetings to cover i'll talk about that at the april meeting john the city planning recorded on the urban plan and how it relates to the exit goals and the urban forestry plan will be going onto the planning commission we'll find the timetable and the upper chair spoke about the relationship between the urban council and the commission on the environment. we then had a presentation on assembly bill 2188 the solar permit and the commissioners spoke about and alison of our

staff spoke about this bill how it establishes an issuance of proprieties for the rooftop solar installation it wouldn't change things for san francisco but help with the exceeded permit for the solar hot water systems this resolution to support the resolution was adapted 4 to zero because we had a full commission at that time. and acting director gave us an update on the process. at the may fwurd meeting we heard about the van ness transit proposal we have a group from the bs n r t there was no aforementioned taken but a hardy discussion and suggestions made

and then a discussion working with the board of san francisco to create a policy to prohibit the transcript of fuel materials like petroleum and other in san francisco. and again, we approved the motion to as a full commission to approve working with the port to work on developing the policy. and then we had a report climate consumption inventory we've had discussions will consumption how to help the consumer make wise choices and the head of our staff gave a stock home requirement consumption inventory for san francisco which gave specific quantities

of green house gases released for the goods and certifies we consume in san francisco it was useful when we go forward how to educate the customer about carbon related impacts of our purchasing. on june 9th we had a presentation on the stakeholder engagement for the policy construction we've discussed and a presentation from nick from the san francisco unified school district on the school districts sustainability program we found infest the school district is doing a lot of things to promote a sustainability agenda we talked about the ability of the future resolution we send to the school board we heard they're working on the i p m and talked

about the possibility of a program in the future on the school districts eco policy program. on the june 13th we talked about the zero waste compliance bob go gave a report on our zero waste mandate and outreach and other programs. talked about programs that have been recovery 90 percent of what's discarded which is pretty amazing but the last 10 perris percent will change the way that parolee designed products are designed a lot of work being produced on the state level and above. robert talked about the outreach the need for financial incentives and disincentives having mandate obeying being very important to make our

outreach effective. so that was another discussion then the bio green ordinance we've approved at the tonight's meeting a great update if director raphael we've heard about the amazing things she's been doing next meeting is august 11th the draft agenda is getting the word out about our schools program and vision zero you've been reading reducing to zero the number of people maimed or killed in traffic collisions. we talk red light runners that's not an accident if you hit somebody. and then in the future we've talked about more discussion about what to do about the stuff

not interested in cool coming out our port. we're learned today that supervisor malia cohen as taken up this issue at the board of supervisors she introduced a resolution pledging the board of supervisors support for this effort to create this policy and if the resolution passes it also encouraged the collaboration between the department of environment and the port department to present this to the board of supervisors in a report and a policy they can move to establish as city policy we've been looking for the champion at the board of supervisors supervisor malia cohen has done it not that long ago that's an exciting announcement to share. all right. any public comment on that item? seeing none, public comment is
