this is quite interesting and quite how can i put it in a way that we the community have to lobby not in this hall but in the state capitol with governor jerry brown because it looks like he'll be around if for the fourth time in a row but audio effectively this 1404 obviously is going to be in the business of mayor ed lee and what he's doing now but the bottom line i think there should be a special hearing on this in the community for which this impacts the communities. on another keynote i'm sure you're aware of check our history i've been here requesting this commission come to the western edition to talk about the obligation and it's been i don't know why it's been
4:31 pm
hesitant but here president you've got hoof history in the western edition that will be appropriate that before this thing comes up i think you need to come to the community and hold the meeting right in the middle of our community so we'll have some empathy so this is on urban renewal i'm respectfully requesting that and let us come to you guys and do a presentation like everyone else to really show what we have been impacted by the urban renewal. as and mentioned before i am redeadlocking all my energy to

certainly w be a policy matter to come before the commission >> can i have i mean, i have a related question i don't know if it's appropriate but it came to mind. do we have a lobby firm or do we use i mean do - what do we do with lobbying at the state capital >> this is a city supported bill in city as a lobbying firm shaw and loader went through the selection process and does the lobbying for the city even though we're not part of the city we advance the goals and objectives of this particular agency we're working with the mayor's office staff and the city of lobbyists in those

was addressing some incurs trying to use the data in city government to improve the services its incredibly for those are the times where the trust in government is really, really important to establish. and as commissioners you're on the front lines our the ones that are hearing the input from our communities and it matters it matters what you say. it matters how i access the points of view that come do you and it matters as to the conclusions that i make. and let me say this for the 15 different bodies we're about to appoint you to. i think it matters to our citizens who perhaps are saying
4:46 pm

my gosh, i love the libraries are they going to be open and be the centers we want them to be. that matters to people who look at look at the islands on the bay of those constituents is he residents of san francisco will watch our words hopefully, will give you input directly and will have faith in you and when we look at the rest of the country if we as a local government don't build the trust with the inclusionary things that we want to do to engage our public just look at the faith that people now have in federal government. deteriorating in front of our very eyes.
4:49 pm
i think in san francisco we have to do it right and better so this is the inspection in which i wanted to express my great thanks because in the the business you're about to restep in to help me restore and make sure that the trusting government at the local level is there for everyone in the city no matter what their backgrounds or ethnic heritage or orientation what their status or where they've been they trust the government it's hard work. it couldn't surprise you when i get a moment i'll sponsor the government channel and since the tone in the commission i may fall asleep halfway through the planning commission but give it
4:50 pm
a try (laughter) i want you to appreciate the roll that you have because you're helping me to make sure there is trust in government. that's so for those days and it's important to all of us. those are times when people want to be included from the southeast to the northeast to the west side to the central side in the tenderloin bay area and mission. they all have very important issues to present to all of us. so with that, in mind today, i will get ready to swear you in so if i may ask all of the postponement tests to stand and repeat after me when i say ii want you to each go down through the right now and state our name
