services i want to thank all the elected officials not only do we represent the department argue as elected officials they give us a lot of good advice well beyond their divisions. twoeth together with the board we've made smart investments and the budget is fiscal pursuant that is a keystone to our city we've increased the services to our recipe are the input they've been critical in transportation and education and our social net and infrastructure that is recorded in the cost of living increases we make sure we did for our nonprofits and their an incredible part of our delivery we've made fair wage increases

to our city employees an, an historic investment in our housing. i would say i think we all truly building that the big challenges of our economic challenges are behind us but we don't want to deviate what is has gotten us here to be the fiscal success the continued commitment to our fiscal responsibilities to make sure our budget balances all the needs of diverse communities and we'll continue to invest in our infrastructure and most importantly in the people one hundred percent of all the people in san francisco. again thanks to the board for working together with us for creating the budget. in his second year supervisor farrell thank you for your

recognition of the tom's contributions to the city. >> supervisor kim is the lead on this. >> it's great to be at land use we introduced this in the spring of last year on the renaming of a block of ivy alley between polk to dr. tom we wanted to make sure we went through the processes and also respect want to ensure that the supporters could be here per born as thomas dr. was adopted by his be neighbors he grew up in new jersey and was encouraged to pressure give him navmz and was excelling in athletics he continued this while going to

springfield massachusetts and just for the record in pe after graduation he tainted medical school and new jersey medical institution and going to alabama in 1965 before drafted into the army he protested being shipped to vietnam and was sent to change as an athletic after the mexican city olympics he earned his medical degree at staufrd and has a practice in the castro neighborhood and participated in the olympics for a second time as a is an at about physician for the monreal olympics after that wid dell joined a bowling league and model to gay

supporting event after the events the first one was to take place in 1982 but did united states athletic committee sized woody allen decimal organization over the use of the word olympics. renaming the sports competition to the gay gavin newsom's event was a large success and includes the degree that surpassed the olympics game during the first gay game he met sarah and decided to have a child together their daughter jessica was born and here today. to protect the legal rights dr. woody allen dell and highs wife married in 1985 he was diagnosed with aids but able to

advocate in 1968 and in 1972 he tried for the olympic games and for his kneecap and was there when the israelis got killed and wanted the same things that everyone wants equal rights for everyone. what my husband accomplished his vision became my vision i was on the original board of the gay rights and my job is i miss the man he's led the biggest thing he did was the separateism in this world and i bold professional will i i was the

general manager and a what happens it formed so many gay lgbt people that in forming the gay games it choose separateism and took it away he opened up the sifts and building upon the principle participation inclusion and personal best he empowered tens of thousands of lgbtq artists and athletes to flipping and competition we thrive on that and something done around the world we never knew that was going to happen when we started in 1987 when we had david the united way asked

never got to meet tom, i know his legacy and family i participate in every gay game except the first one and served on the federation of gay games since 1989 one of the most unsatisfactory projects i was ever involved in was making a film about the gay games and the 0 world it was took place so in 2005 it was called taking the flame and tom was there on the front cover it's typography of him and part history the gay games and the commentary of the gay world in the 80s and 90s i brought a few center copies i'll let you have one.
