gate park and in the 1980s it was pulled out of the park things thanks to the leadership of chief suhr when we saw vandal ifrm in the park the chief made the decision to bring him back to insure our gardeners and staff is protected from vandals and bob ramos who is accompanied here bob ramos joined the self-police department in the 81 and working in patrol and in 991 was on the tenderloin task force before we returned to richmond station he's devoted to keeping

>> good morning commissioner president buell and park commissioners i'm general manager i've had the honor to work with those gentlemen the 33 years the commitment to work ethic and bob he's worked for 33 years the last 12 years at gerp offering services and keeping a safe t he starts his days at 4 in the morning and lewis i've known him but both of those guys have worked for 33 years for commitment to the city they've i joined the reserves so, now they're going to be patrolling for free.

to start with, please. >> good morning, commissioners general manager mr. ginsburg i'm tom the proprietor of john eagles it's been my privilege to manage the land i want to thank you for your patience with the pouring of support i want to remind the members of the community you've been one of the great commissions for public golf and golfers we've seen in many, many decades. glen eagle has a rich history and folks stripped the first shots in 1962 pro tem a brand new beginning for that neighborhood internal revenue i think it's 52 year-old 38

developed one of the most challenging golf course and x mayors have played and cops and for all the lease holders over the past 52 years given giving time the current lease model is not useful the lease holder of the old property is too much for one inhibit to bear pipes are busting and limbs are snapping when the wind blows and the water prices have doubled in the last year and an additional 40 percent the puc go says that will double in 20 years we're looking for party and fairness

>> next speaker. >> morning, commissioners and mr. ginsburg i'm carol i'm a resident and homeowner in the cross examininger amazon district of san francisco is glen eagles golf course is in my backyard i'm here in support of the fester to try to renegotiate a fair and equitable lease so mr. shaw can operate the glen eagles it's clear to us who are regular patrons it has to be a labor of love it's not going to be harding park but it has something and brings something unique to our community not only golfers but it serves as a sign of something in the community t it also is unique it's a 9 hole

golf course so many of us who are working people who don't have a lot of time to play golf and glen eagle serves a purpose i play in the middle of the day between work and get out and play and enjoy i know there's been point flt in the past some uses of the land for other purposes but as long time resident and a heavy yourself of mcclaren park that's a highly underutilized resource so from my prospective i don't see the golf course and it's conversion to other uses if it's contemplated to be worthwhile or worth on investment by the city that's my comments and i

appreciate i giving me a couple of moments thank you. >> next speaker. >> my name is albert i started playing golf in 1964 glen eagles was two years old i'm a senior citizen and can't afford to play harding and even shops i don't live within the city limits this course i can afford to play there i go to hunter's bay about 3 times a week it's got a history and gotten up in the golf world that's a hidden jewel everybody speaks about oh, i'm going to get robbed and killed

there in 50 years there's only been one element of robber and the san francisco police department and a member of the club course he took care of of the business and people had their property back and on top of people weren't from san francisco he somehow got their valuables back there must be a way to renegotiate this lesee couldn't tell you what to do it seems simple give this man a little bit of help so he can maintain this course and charley i've played with guys fluff and other people everybody comes up

somebody i know you'll pack our bags and get out there and playing play it's easy to unmake a golf course you leave it a week and it will go to seed it's extremely expensive to make a golf course if we invest a little bit of money the city seems like it is doing well and if it doesn't let's invest a little bit of money and things get tough let's revisit the problem i've lost some money to some of those guys out here and want the challenge to win it back (laughter). >> >> next speaker. >> hello, i'm eric i've take advantage of the some of the services at the w ta cti want to

speak open on behalf of what would be lost if the lease is not renewed i was blown away from the advancement of job skills they do a lot of video grateful i was blown away those resources available everything else in the community consist of really basic internet skills and how to compose an e-mail essentially. the lost to the community and the benefit and the quality of life that the w a t ct brings to the community is huge i see it as part of the trend san francisco is heading in terms of eliminating resources for low income people i see that as being a big blow to the community. so i check in with those guys

interesting point what makes we really proud about glen eagles you can have the pga tour and get all those wonderful fence and sponsor them and support them and all that goes with that. anticipate you can have the same moment a wonderful piece during the pga or during the w cc on glen eagles and think about how that benefits san francisco and shouz shows a diversity of people we put the protecting people and all the parents are going skyrocketing prices the skyline is going away everything is schang but you still care about the people and community. the one thing it strikes me how

taking lessons from the first contractor you had at glen eagle that was mcclaren park at this point the word stepchild i happen to be a board member of the improvement association and we fought for an issue called st. luke's hospital and the reason i bring that up outside the general hospital that was the only hospital we fought for south of market and one of the others things this 9 neighborhood in the visitacion valley and the hunters point and xooer district as stated before i support withholding

wholeheartedly i think the first key program is very important for that area i saw earlier the poach that represented the community that's very important and i think the future of our community is hopefully going along with the future of what's happening in the waterfront and throughout the city it's a beautiful part of the city and mcclaren park is underutilized so i hope you support tom shaw and support a new contract for mcclaren thank you for your time. >> thank you. > next speaker. >> i'm a resident of the
