selma is filled with cultural organizations and hotels and tourism and we have the innovation of the hub in the city just 15 months ago we broke ground on the 2 henry adams and 75 secret and our building has been going upward in a few moms there are will a topping off of our museum in the tradition of building construction it's customary to hold a ceremony so the topping off is with the upper most beam is when it reaches it's full height we're raising the roof over the sf moma so the most important miles for this project is one the one that matters the most will come in 2016 in the

beacon and small beacon that will become a giant beacon as you can see the steel structure you'll be able to see it from the freeways councilmember west and east from the east that it's a beacon you'll want to be a participant in all your friends to see what what it's about fantastic for tourism in you're in the tourism business it will boom and the food business will boom and hotel it is great and for your personal pleased the museum is designed to just be a big magnet for visitors and also coupled with that is our education program for the youngsters we're going to double and triple the effort the 3

things i want to emphasize that are important to you'll you have you here as a public this entire museum has been built by private fundraising it's really pretty incredible (clapping) and mayor ed lee who i'll introduce here in a moment he's very happy we didn't go into the city coffers there's another part of the story about the partnership between the entrepreneurs and people who have been successful in life that give back but the city's also has the first new firehouses in 40 years over on. fulsome street the firemen all love it we can be happy about

the secretive trade with the city and the fire department and the museum i think it is really something i feel strongly about neal's mentioned we're making the museums admission free from folks 18 and flvr there so our grandkids i have 12 on the other hand, and on, on the way anyway, this huge effort will change the collapse of san francisco for another notch upward we can be proud of that and, of course, nothing great every happens in my view without the support of our civic leaders and there's a friend of mine who is been a great partner from the very beginning of this effort and that's our mayor here in san francisco mayor ed lee please come up ed

it's to service for many jashgsdz by to have a new fire station and world war museum we're unique in that respect but there's also continued to be stories told by your sf moma did you know that on an in an basis the museum has professional development and training for all our teachers in elementary and middle school over 2 thousand teachers get the professional development because of sf moma how about that as an accomplishment (clapping) when this expansion is done ♪ 2016 it will triple the number of kids from kindergarten to high school that invest this museum triple the number because of the way the monies have been raised to support our youth in the city

you know when museums and when institutions do that for our youth chuck you get our attention you you know how authentically i am our the city this is a world-class museum chuck will offer the opportunity to receive the money and the receiving the fishing family with grass so don (clapping) and doris and bob and the entire fishing foundation thank you four giving us this opportunity to demonstrate our response (clapping) to our families collaboration with our city (clapping) and again, that's just another neat part of our city it gave them keeps viewing to have a
