avalos. >> just a quick comment before starting on this item this golf course is part of john mclaren park a lot of activity around the park that changed with the park what they provides in terms of activities and ways to enjoy the scenery and there's a lot of folks that have been involved in the forest from all parts of park and what's been important to note in this item before us is that the golf course is actually played a lot of roll in connecting with people around the park that kind of collaboration hadn't happened before with the glenn park.

>> a thank you supervisor avalos that's kind of what i was going to do start out with part of our through the with the rec and park to find a lessee that will integrate the golf course into the community and neighborhood obviously we want someone to operate the course and in the lease the tenants glen park partners s are responsible for that capital improvements over the years of the management very little capital work done on the course this course was built when candle stick was built we began a negotiation process for the possibility 9 years extension in 2013 but just reached final terms recently

mr. shaw has been operating the parks during the lease dlully authorized by your department most people don't know unlike the lessees and managers of our courses glen is responsible upon control felt course the partners launched into a project with years of did he recall of tree maintenance i was taken by this and i realized how much it is needed for the governmenters and additional fund were for the interior and exterior of the clubhouse with various things that are capital expenditures all of this was done two years

in advance of the required period in the lease and to date over $400,000 has been invested in the property including $150,000 for the restoration of the gastroa crisis hit the course and what sort of a perfect storm for exhibition and disease for the course tom put together and team and vfltd additional money in the course to save the golf course in addition to the money he was able through his connections and goodwill to assembly a team of experts and therefore we have a course still in xoings and the department is very happy and proud of tom for that one of the reasons we wanted outreach is that we had a feeling it is important a program within the rec and park

department a partner was going to establish satellite station site at developing middle school i'm sure you're aware of the original san francisco was located at harding and tom spent a lot of time during his regular clientele in meeting with the trustees and students to understand what they were going to be experiencing rather than hoping for the best he handled it the correct way. >> very briefing the modifications to this amendment o amendment in section 3.1 of the lease a vacant lots on sunnydale avenue included in the premises in the original lease thinking it might be utilized it's to the and at that time the department has slated that area for a different use we'll be

of investigators from the puc to look at the problem and it was pretty evident to everyone that much of water was being wasted in the first playground due to leaks so part of the negotiation the department will pay $9,300 for the remainder it's an expensive two month leak the department includes a new renovation system we're currently investigating a number of t time restorations that's important it let's us through our flexible pricing through our section 12 d and park code to increase and decrease rates at various times there are historically t times that are not used because is it, too

expensive you're paying the same price for prime time and non-prime time so we're going to include glen park in this process the lessee will continue with the cooperation with the visitacion valley branch it's preliminary to our department and collaborative with the labors community training local 2 61 to help implement a prehindsight and at that tha the rec and park commission is requesting that the board of supervisors amend park code to include glen in the pricing contained in that session the financial terms of the agreement stay the same 7 percent of gross

this is the single use within the park and therefore very, very important that the golf course be integrated into other plans around making cleaner park is on the forefront of the expansion into more activities and more people and feeling more connected three years ago we formed something called the ma cleaner park collaborative to bring together the various groups of supporters and activities as well as the neighborhood we're surround by 3 communicated and mayoral districts all those people feel they have the outreach and access to everything within ma cleaner park i applaud tom's goals in

know golf but short grass and like a whole little whatever it's the part of the last part of the game of golf he learned it was real from an environmental prospective we don't have a position at the commission but i'll tell you i'm excited to go going back to the committee there's talks about jobs with glen partners and what's excited a lot of people over at glen the desire for the collaborative groups when want to integrate ways we use water and pesticides it equivalence a lot of us at the staff of the
