dignity and real effort as supervisor farrell mentioned to bring us together at times it seemed like we couldn't be brought together i won't pious that money will mistake me for you (laughter). >> and call me david and i don't think there's anyone else that might be mistaken for me but the shoes will be big to fill you'll do that with dignity and effectiveness we were talking about how many years but scott's known you longer than and it's been about 18 years i think your work in sifrz is impressive in sacramento you'll continue the sacramento workers bill of rights and the predictability scheduling there

so many things to champion in sacramento i'm looking forward to seeing you shine there as and was years ago the director of the immigrant rights coalition you were an amazing straefblg member of the board i've learned a lot from you since our served on this board as our president i know your parents are proud of you i'm looking forward to a different relationship thank you for serving chinatown and north beach and district 3 it's been an honor to serve with you david. >> thank you supervisor mar supervisor kim. >> thank you. i think enough has been said about your work and office over the last of years i think i have the special privilege i had a personal

experience with defied he was one of the first people i met in san francisco in 1999, i started with a lot of friends that david is familiar with a group called thursday we had monthly panel discussion around the chinese americans how articulate you were on issues facing our community and everyone rushed to they knew you were someone that contributed a lot and soon after that devastating and i found ourselves out of housing your restrooms were leaving we were interviewing sublets at a variety of apartment and an hour later i having had a roommate we

lived together 3 years when i was a youth organizer that's a ride that doesn't end here starting as friends and roommate that we worked open a lot of projects together i will say this about david because we cannot share too much we're under oath about living together but you know david you have also been incredibly activity i'm impressed by your stamina you were raising back and forth between 5 and that events at one point we were talking about the 9 different boards you were sitting on and when a which one did you have to let go to serve on the china i

chinese board but you served on a board it didn't change you continued to stay incredibly activity you like to be involved in everything which i know your constituents appreciate about you and clearly led to you're continuing our policy and constituent work at state level but what i will say in our years ever work i remember when you started to take to the ballot families that were immigrants that had children in our school system but couldn't elect their school board leaders so even if you maybe in our system k through 12 because you're not a

citizen you can't determine policies for your kids that was actually a really, really hard campaign i remember the 6 months recruiting us and the hurdles of criticisms were thrown our way including i remember you allowed assami bin laden to vote on the school boards that's one of the reasons the campaign lost it was unfortunate but i think that it was so appreciated i took on that site i think so many people of the you couldn't limit by it did continue an important dialog i hope we continue to have in light of president obama exclusive order regarding 4

million undocumented members of our country that contribute to this country and have a pathway or rather will not have to live in fear of deportation i look forward to our relationship post as colleagues on the board of supervisors and really looking at to implementing the vision zero policies in sacramento with our flight of tenant protection here 90 in san francisco and congratulate you for your years of service. >> thank you, supervisor kim supervisor yee. >> thank you, supervisor. >> want to make this brief congratulations as you move on its been two years since i've known you in your capacity are i want to and there's a lot of former president of a smaller

body but wince you've been in that capacity you release how difficult it is to keep everybody together in keeping us focused of whatever our goals are i want have to say you've done a great job as much as we would disagree not only myself but other people we agree and so forth but we manage to move forward and make that a better place for san franciscans the things you've done in our life we explicit cross paths when i was working in the community but once i got to know you and you started wanting to know more about what i would be focused on in early education i

realized what a quick learn and even though those were not your tupgz as soon as i told you a few things you caught on and got the issues and supported some of the issues particularly in early education so i role appreciate what you've be able to bring to me gnaws in the two years i've benefit here good luck. >> supervisor breed. >> president chiu i won't embrace you boy talking about what happened in taiwan you met with me and extremely helpful and supportive but i also think this is because you've been a great leader as president and

made yourself available i learned a lot there were things i didn't understand and didn't know what i would be walking into you gave a guideline and information and booklet to start to research and suggestions on things to read which took up the majority of my time before i was sworn in not only was it sdreps it was great to make sure i misunderstood what i was walking into and prepared i really appreciate that i was happy to be supportive of you're being the board president you've done a great job working with me as a new member of the board of supervisors but oftentimes if one of us didn't have our vote

then most of the time your legislation didn't get passed you were also in the middle trying to work out a solution and yours the vote i also wanted to get when there was challenges with the legislation so i also want to thank you for not getting two mad going over the top sometimes i'd interrupt you and you were still diplomatic how you handled that i'd get passion noting national about the things and you were not only great but the way you treated the public and how you handled users as board want is something to amir i want to congratulate you on moving to the next level and hope that a lot of things

important legislation it sacramento can only deal with in regards to rent control and how to keep the city affordable and how to castle with proposition 209 and making the necessary issues for african-american and latino and some of the things you know that i care about as a members of the board i don't have the power to do but you'll have the power in sacramento we're looking at to seeing great things and great things happen for san francisco you're going to definitely be missed on this body and we're wondering who might be replacing you can you tell us i'm just kidding david thank you for your leadership. >> thank you for your commitment to san francisco, thank you for representing your

looking at the the ceiling and all of you it is hard i want to most of my comments are around thanksgiving, i am thankful for any family and parents and my close friends the true cabinet crew and the unbuildingly patient wife candice thank you i also want to, of course, thank any district every one of us thinks we represent the most amazing neighborhoods in the city but i do i can't thank enough the 75 thousand residents of district 3 about worked closely to deliver for our neighborhood thank you to the advocates we work with beverly upton and so many that represents the best of what your communities are about thank you

i have to thank the hundreds of city staffers you've had a chance to work with two mayors to 3 board liaisons to our controller and our muslim city attorney marry madam clerk you and your incredible staff for putting up with us in ways we tried to bend the rules and your incredible aided we believe we have the best staff at city hall but i have the most amazing staff the height it working staff any former staffers thank you for your sacrifice and it's been an incredible time working together with all of you and to our colleagues i'm going to miss each and everyone one of you including

any debate partnering partnering the good supervisor from district 9 i'm not going to forget working with katie and london breed and jane kim on the arts and norman yee and childcare and supervisor wiener secret reform and public nudity and supervisor farrell and supervisor campos the of months we've spent locked together earlier in the morning fighting for the next generation of hospitals supervisor cohen i wish she was he her and supervisor avalos on our work together on local hiring when i was thinking will the last of years when the class of

2008 when we came in city hall it was not viewed as functional i've asked each of i to see how we've worked together it's easy to magnify our differences and we're pretty good at enthusiastic differences but we really share a san francisco prospective over the past two weeks i've gone to sacramento 5 times for orientation and met many of my further colleagues that don't support raising the minimum wage and more functional protection and against bullying transgenders and as i go to the state assembly i hope to work closely with you have our shared
