6:00 pm
you. (laughter). >> i know it's not the end having the hyper diesels is definitely an improvement the thing we haven't looked at yet is all the new streets that are going to be happening in mission bay all the new residents we're gotten another 3 thousand units being built in mission bay right now i would really like mta and i've already asked jeffrey to do this to look at other stop in mission bay on 16th street and owens street as we see was the canned is it's a long walk on 16th street those are big south of market walks from fourth street to missouri street but i think once owens street opens there
6:01 pm
will be a intent to see how it works ear looking forward to working with you. >> (calling names). >> hi, i'm doug i live on 999, 16th street a resident for 14 years i'm here to talk about the property bus stop this is slated to go in front of our building i'm opposed to that particular spot if a bus were to be parked in front of our building it would obstruct anyone that is leaving our parking garage and it will effect our ability to pull dout out into the traffic if there's a bus it's difficult to see around and if a bus there it is impossible to see and
6:02 pm
create a dangerous situation for anyone leaving our building there is also the possibly when the busses are there for people using the crosswalk from the north to have their view obstructed i've crows that sidewalk with my dog and it's treacherous it's difficult to cross that street the 3 parking spots are 3 of the safe spots in our neighborhood we have flood lights that illuminate the front of our building if you park in spots where there are not lights your subject to car problems i know this gentleman said we'll not be losing trees but those
6:03 pm
trees will be disabled by the buses because anytime the busy come into those zones their broken off and lastly proposing the zone be moved to the west on 16th street in front of the tofu factory there's less dysfunctions to the occupants and they don't care about the bus stops. >> herbert weiner is the last speaker card regarding this matter. >> herbert weiner i wish to express my concerns about the deletion of the 33 bus stop to san francisco general hospital it's been maintained that the 9 coach would be able to top take up the slack but what about a woman who is in labor or a
6:04 pm
person that's seriously a person in which seconds could mean life or dedicate you're going to have to wait for the 9 coach they're not only reliable there's a or there's may not be standing room on the bus it's extremely uncooperative for a person in serious medical condition now what is good about the 33 it is a direct route this is very important for people that has esteem medical needs now san francisco general is one of the city's most important resources there should no bus runs to this facility should be eliminated it should not be this includes city's landmarks
6:05 pm
and includes vitalities and one of the things of the project is the social reality it is volunteered from are personal needs and based on supply and demands and frequency of the ridership and what is happening is you're taking away the necessary resources sure you're adding them to run the most frequently use but taking it away from other people you should be increasing the amount of the fleet. >> yes. >> go ahead. >> i'll go ahead and start first address the 32 reroute i'm sure it went through it's title 6 thank you analysis that word left my brain temporarily i'm sure that's been addressed in
6:06 pm
the larger t e p it passed the title 6 analyze. >> correct when you approved the c e p in march 2014 you approved the title 6 analysis that includes all the lines in the city and i seem to think those 9 are mostly the new floor boarding buses; is that correct. >> those come out of our new woods development we've benefit in contact with the community and lufgz the 33 line we'll not reroute the 31 until better service this january 31st we're redoing the schedule we're not chan but once we increase the level of the carr
6:07 pm
trespasser avenue sure their likely to the customers making the transitioned from 33 to katrero avenue. >> to address the issue of the bus stop in front of the condominium building i never thought about that but the far site bus stop it is interesting to note the average dwell time of our business is and about 10 to 15 seconds for a route like this but 4 times an hour. >> we're providing better vision for most of the time for people pulling in and out of the entrance and buses can't pull out in front of that bus stop arrest one of the questions not related to the presentation i
6:08 pm
happy to be riding my bus on 16th and this is outside of our scope of awareness but maybe if mr. maguire can answer it i know that 17th street has the lovely like lanes but it's unclear how to wrap up around into mission bay proper. >> tom, i answer that. >> tom is gone. >> can you activate this i don't know how to do this is the bike lane on 427th street through the 16th corridor plan that will start the outreach on january 13, '14 to extend did bike route dh which is here and
6:09 pm
rejoin 16th street into the mission bay area there will be a lot of outreach over the next several years with 16th street being such a transit hub we'll really want to insure safety for bicyclists and pedestrians and motorists and bus riders so going forward is to have the bikes on 17th all the way up to mississippi and keep the brt on 16th street. >> thanks. >> thanks roberta if i can ask keeping the stop where it is proposed closer to 999 as soopd as opposed to to moving it west to accommodate what we anticipate in the future if we
6:10 pm
move it further west we'll be encouraging the mid walk block. >> we planted it to the brt project to create street walk saying that and block spacing for customers and then again, we also try to make the it stops and street lights and not have to stop at a green near side while people tampering of the far side placement we thought that was the fire chief location for the stop and the one that minimize the parking loss to the area and has site line benefits to it as well that's why we're recommending that placement. >> thank you excellent presentation. >> somebody raised the question
6:11 pm
on owens street how far for someone that goes on owens street for pretty sure if you have walkers and wheelchairs and if i walk to 16th and here we go so third is this thicker gray line whoops i need a pen here we go. >> the third street is right here here's fourth is where this red line is and owens is right here. >> two blocks except. >> to owens it is but down owens to the orthopedic building is right there. >> so we're proposing this initial spacing we are open to the spacing as we move to
6:12 pm
expanding the service. >> something to keep an eye on so we have a motion and a second all in favor, say i. thank you. >> mr. chair before i move to item 13 please be advised no discussion in closed session. >> this is the 2014-2015 software group to fund the systems and intragd by adding $8.5 million for a toll needing $9 million with no extension to the term of contract mr. chairman no member of the public that wishes to address that matter. >> just if we could get a little feedback on our how happy we are with the system this was originally a smaller contract amount and it's a large jump i
6:13 pm
said legally it's been reviewed but that's fine i would like some reassurance it is definitely money that is well spent we're happy with the performance of the software. >> yeah. let me ask julie curbing bomb to speak i recognize it's awkward but it's been thoroughly reviewed and by the city attorney's office. >> julie with the operation and planning and scheduling the trapezii software is can we use in all facets my team uses it to build the schedule and enter data when we are out doing the
6:14 pm
traffic counts how many people are using the rail lines we also use to manage all the aspects of the division so that's what the operator work is assigned to how we know how many operators are available and not available each day and how the operators get paid prior to the trapezii there's the risk of paying the incorrect amount so it adds oversight and scrutiny to our work this contract is in many ways an extension of our user fees and that aspect of the contract bus additional options to give us flexibility to make trapezii for responsible one the places we're struggling for example is the speed of our system on the
6:15 pm
scheduling side is not as good as we like we've reached out to our partners that are uss trapezii it's critical you saw the running adjustment on the 5 lines i'd like to be doing 15 lines so having the ability optimize the software we've made a tremendous which investment and this contract allows us to do that this trapezii was a mr. kelly bid contract it's in place since 2002 it's not a huge field our choices are somewhat limited it's tailored software so the more we can work with both our industry partners that are using it like atlanta and others as
6:16 pm
well as having trapezii you know more on site and more frequently and more responsive to our needs we're only going to see improvements but it really has taken us you know when i got here in 2006, we were really beginning the roll out of this we've started to use the scheduling have not used the dispatch yet and other systems the amount of clean up and information that's 0 now available to staff through the software is i think tremendous and part of why we can even respond to things like we have a huge push on operator hiring because we see everyday you know an esteem detail every trip that's missing and this is the software we use to do that so - >> thank you. >> it's not a perfect thing
6:17 pm
it's helpful. >> it's helpful. >> let's say it's a huge jump under the amount of $8.5 million why is the software so costly? arrest. >> yeah. it's customized and as the lady said there's few in the market it's very customized if you think about the complexity of our system which is probably one of the more complex given the diversity and the hours we operate and the sheer size of it, it's as complex things this is a not to exceed contract so doing the work she was talking about but it is complex software and expensive expertise and you know we see a good return on investment despite the costs. >> is this a system - are they building a new component system
6:18 pm
what's the ongoing kind of maintenance like once you get beyond the contract what is the mostly o monthly. >> it's the boirlt to purchase new modules or to have consultant assistance optimize the modules we have so it is not $9 million just for the software a porlgs is the licensing fees and the rest the ability to potentially buy in components or to have on site support. >> what is the length of the licensing for what's is length of the licensing a lot of software has a limited number of years or sometimes months.
6:19 pm
>> we can get you that information. >> we've been working with the city consolidating it licenses getting better deals. >> so i think those opportunities are limited here. >> i just wondered i know that is how software companies make their money through licensing. >> move the item and any further discussion all in favor, say i. the i's have it and item 14 whether to conduct a closed session. >> all in favor, say i. move into clo >> we've earned our $20,000
6:20 pm
you shaved a couple of scores off but you did get at least - >> all right. the room is back if on session. >> we're in open session on the one hand. >> to where i need to get to closed session adjourned item 14 the mta met in closed session to discuss the live stone and this brshgd voted to resolve that there's no anticipated litigations and it would be appropriate to disclose or not disclose. >> second all in favor, say i. opposed? >> and finally director borden's suggestion we'll
6:29 pm
>> all right. good afternoon. welcome welcome to the our special san francisco full board of supervisors meeting of january 7, 2015, i want to welcome everyone to the new year and hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season we have frank 1y0r7bd well, to our chamber >> supervisor avalos supervisor breed supervisor campos supervisor cohen supervisor farrell supervisor kim supervisor mar supervisor tang
