5:45 pm
my neighborhood i live at the jefferson hotel right down the street under the station and the response time is still slow i don't think i'll be getting the responsiveness time this is needed for the people that are drug addicted so on and so forth and i want my police force police to stay in my neighborhood because i love them all it was really freaking me out on the shooting of turkey we feel afraid and we want our police where we need them because hey things are not getting too much better but hey we're >> thank you very much. next speaker. 5:46 pm
since i heard about the proposal for the redistricting i've been excited and concerned excited for the tenderloin station will be helpful us with police protection concern including two malls that would harm the police presence everyone i've spoken to in any building feels the stage i same two weeks ago i was the victim of robbery at 8:30 at night the response time 9 police took two days they found any purse with any identifications and all the stuff i was robbed of $30,000 and also it's not that i don't love the police department i love the city and i want to keep them in our area the redistricting where we really, really need them thank you >> thank you. next speaker.
5:47 pm
(clapping.) good evening, commissioners command staff chief suhr my name is david elliott lewis with the health board and tenant advocate with the collaborative i also live right by the corner of larkin and farrell is a boundary between to predicts between the tenderloin precinct and a boundary that's not planning on changing that's a problem this is why this corner that i live by important the last 8 years has been home to round-the-clock narcotics crack cocaine and now heroin it's honey donors i've gotten to know them they commute by bart from oakland and do their business the dealers bring
5:48 pm
with them a are certain amount of viewpoints we'll have 3 homicides one body dropped decide the front steps of my front door i have a photo to prove it to see a dead body by any front door was shocking i haven't gotten over it the problem is though the gang because they're on the streets and boundary play a cat and mouse game they have a look at when they see a car approaching northern they jumpy asking to consider moving the boundary to polk street not exclude city hall but ma garter i allow criminal behavior to be focused in one predicted and put it firmer in the tenderloin
5:49 pm
precinct which is all right. familiar with the dealers the dealers that escape into the northern regional when we get the chance. >> excuse me. thank you. >> am i out of time. >> well, i hope i'll consider this proposal and want you to know. >> sir. >> as well. >> thank you mrs. lewis (clapping.) >> next speaker. >> being my name is michael cameron and i live at the hotel shut up let me compose myself i'm michael cameron live on farrell i'm at the borderer of the tenderloin and police station i've spoken about the violence the dope dealing near any home i'm front yard to go to the bus
5:50 pm
stop at larkin because of gunfire i like to mention a paperwork there for children and it is named avenue our fallen officer we have thousands of children in our neighborhood that refuse to go to the park give them a chance and what they have to witness it ridiculous i like to mention that because the tenderloin police in the northern police have worked together and it worked well, for a moment you know but the thing is this i know this would be better if we would have our tenderloin please tearful of coming of ma garter street of polk street it will stop the draerlz from jumping from one side to another and on both sides of geary street and it
5:51 pm
will i think the tenderloin police are better excepted to deal with drug dealers and with them dealing with the gangs they have familiar with the ones that work on like height interstate street so all the plays the tenderloin police are aware because by the they see in in other saeksz like julian over to larkin street to be in the western side and that game should stop we all see is it needs to stop the murders need to stop i feel we can do much, much better with the tenderloin police and people talk about 9 other areas and all (clapping.) thank you very much. next speaker. >> supervisor kim, police chief and all the members of the
5:52 pm

5:53 pm
centers and shopping centers there's a lot of shoplifting and heavy lifting now this is for the shoplifting what can they do eir clely first things first i don't know that's the reality my section recommendation any friends have told me, please move the boundary not north and south along the strict to polk street because right now the station the police department in the tenderloin is stopped at the larkin everything that has an operation the people move they walk slowly and the section i know from larkin to possible and my home is there i so spend this
5:54 pm
one please consider the moving the north and south boundary and at least. >> payroll. >> sir. >> an important suggestion i understand the police say working. >> sir, your time is up. >> now if they did. >> sir. >> sir. >> please protect them so they can protect us thank you. >> thank you so much keep it to two minutes to get to everyone thank you. next speaker. >> (clapping) >> (clapping.) i want to say i'm katherine wolf a former resident of the tenderloin and current president on the council with the cbc building i have brought my family to the tenderloin area whether using stoilz or going shopping or
5:55 pm
using the paralyzed and so on and so forth will we've seen look what southerners me it the children they walk through the area and go through a lot of drug are dealers and people that are 4r0i9 around in fact in front of childcare center drug dealing go on going on violation it is a major southern you increase the resources but have to address the current issues i see particulars go by all the time they don't stop you can go by and sees people there's videos on youtube and so forth you need to increase the police and make them nor visible and work with the community don't allow the drug dealing and the
5:56 pm
unsafe environment people need to work whether their disabled or seniors whether it their kids we don't need to deal with it so, please >> thank you very much. next speaker. 5:57 pm
safety and general health issues that are not being addressed it's a disgrace to the city right in the heart of the city surrounded by wealth that so much can be left unaddressed and needs unmet with $4,000 thousands children living in the neighborhood we need to provide opportunity for imprint their quality of life it is demonstrate by the number of people they're not sitting at home waiting for you to do the work we're willing to work with the police department we need to know that the city and the police department have our back as well we need the resources we need the resources to improve our community and we need to have an inadequately staffed tenderloin station we need to make sure that the resources we have met the need of the neighborhood not just population side but really mediating meet the demand and the tenderloin
5:58 pm
has a lot of need so i would say and ask as we increase the area i have no objection to the boundary lines and the police department but i'd like to say that with that increase side size we need the resources and we have a need 0 below that we're not meeting the current need so i really want to encourage who've to partner. >> thank you, sir. >> to meet that need. >> thank you mr. bradford. >> next speaker. >> (clapping.) good evening, commissioners. >> good evening. >> well, i'm not required i appreciate if dr. marshall can give a response i'm navigating floyd come here to advocate for a specific strategy the strategy will decide how this neighborhood will distribute one

6:00 pm
i want to increase the number of police officers to insure the members of my union nor meeting with the representatives and signing up for health care and childcare and healthy care and sat classes and other things i'm compelled to be weary of the for us we're asking to be protective of our neighborhood i'm histohoping this is a start of our conversations we're asking the officers in this community to undertake to be clear i'm seeking to reduce the crimes that are committed in this community and harmful effects and holy we can not only prevent the crime but more importantly create the sustainable development inside this community a neighborhood that improves of quality of life for all neighborhood but
