mount davidson is also a great place to escape the noise and the bustle of the city. take the 36 bus and it will drop you at the entrance. it is quite a hike to the top but the view is worth every step. this is the place to bring that someone special. golden gate park's largest body of water is an enchanting place. is a popular spot for paddling around in boats, which can be rented. created in 1893, it was designed for these your boating -- for leisure boating. it is named for the wild strawberries that once flourished.

express my appreciation to the two others who have also been great fighters and certainly great winners showing they're leadership to the city thank you (clapping) also to our former and presence school board members that are here but also our former school board members that are been active in the lead as well as all of you in our past as the board of supervisors and members of the board this is, of course, jane kim and norman lee. >> and our public defender i know that jeff strongly strongly believes in the education foundation for the kids and spend evidence i appreciated

your work (clapping) you know, i also see our school board members thank you. the current school board members i have to say as a body of you are the best school board i've ever had and i know you are coming out of great negotiations recently and i just wanted to staying say thanks for being personality in working with us i compliment to you you will also have a mayor that works with you along with the teachers association and certainly with your superintendent i want to say briefly i had the pleasure of working with hydra for years now before i became and after became mayor i've valued her support not only is she did education advisor but

the also family services advisor to my administration and she has the ability to get everybody together in the room whether it's marie sue or chet roar everywhere city college or the leadership council or the ability to spark a comment from a mark ben hoff or the harrison foundation or some of the others we seek support from she's the one tow another my side as we made presentations to foundations and talked to city departments from the police and fire to human services to our education leaders throughout the education community she's been there for families and children 0 i just want to say on behalf of of my administration thank

you, hydra for your wonderful, wonderful work she of course, has a history on the school board let me say this 83 she didn't want to go through another election and i had to look her not eye and do what had been done to me why are you here and what drives our passion in the public sector, of course we had that conversation and anhiwe renewed what eric did about his vows we renewed our vows to the public and san franciscans in this conversation we restigd the passion in which she served two other terms on the school board that there was even more reason now today to be on this particular board because it is a very hashld board and is a board

this is now on the bring of proclaiming the best school district in the united states of america we're proud of that, yes (clapping.) and you know the story is not that that the school board is by itself doing all the work again it is in fantastic collaboration with all of us in the city and the millions of dollars that are flowing across not only from the city but from the private foundations and the businesses in the city because they have investor confidence in our school district i say this because i know that our middle grades are improving every single day we embrace them the principles and the teachers in those grades will recognize to have the harder jobs of
