the anecdotal discussions we've had in the past with the locations of police station and where they were in relation to responsibility for officers to be involved with as part of this the chief put together and committee it includes a number of captains and command staff that looked at the district station with the consulting group i have to say we've spent well over one hundred hours between use it was multiple meetings we see started with thirty maps we had a discussion with the personnel that had the experiences with law enforcement on the street we'll be down to 5 maps we've presented to the chief and the chief made anywhere changes and came up with one map that process was good it involved a lot of the experience with the law enforcement with service

community we looked at where housing locations were and churches were and schools where community were community groups neighborhood associations and tried to make them as at least impact full we came up with a promoted change for the northern stations if you look at the map you'll see the northern is alienated inoblast blue currently our boarderers are larkin street to bay street and northern station has that that border will stay we've got the responsible for that bodies of the larkin street to the tenderloin and those restraining order closer to the tenderloin and larkin is a tenderloin community and easy for them to respond we'll go up to larkin street but not in the

originally northern station there are 10 district station in northern station is probably one of the fewer destinations the city large enough if accommodate 50 officers some have exchanged by the size currently, we have not one hundred and 50 but one hundred we have the ability to add locker rooms and park facilities that the stationed may not be able to so we moved further west the second reason right now if i stand in the a parking lot at northern station and throw a rock across the street to martin luther king that is not our district that's the park district when we are looking at responding to calls for service many of us know where park station is located at 8th and for the officers to get

to this area didn't make sense to the chief and a lot of of us us one the positive things behind that we will be adding two housing developments to the area that is important currently have 4 housing police officers police officers that are 10i7bd to the housing win the northern district by addressing martin luther king and marcus scaring i didn't my officers will distract with the youth to have a quick responses and alleviate delays in responses because our station is so close one of the other positive the chief and i went to the grabbed opening that was a boys and girls club that opened up on you fulsome street it's a beautiful venue swimming pool a baseball courts an unethical
