>> good morning, everybody. welcome to beautiful delores park. this is a long time coming. back in 2008, voters approved a clean and safe neighborhood parks bond which allocated about $14 million to improve this incredible park. our goal together we are going to build the new dolores park that is going to be built to last. it is going to retain all of it's important features, all of it's historic qualities, all of it's essential beauty. but yet be built with the idea that this is whenever people come. >> we are going to be renovating all six tennis

court's, replacing the basketball court with operations underneath so the staff has the ability to maintain the park. we are completely renovating the irrigation system and in addition to the operations we are building two new restroom buildings. this fund was part of the park renovation fund. we knew community was very supportive of a renovation fund. we engaged in a community process which we began with the park to do a detailed assessment of the condition of the park and very details conversation about what we can do in the park and utilize what we can. >> parks are where people can gather and where to relax and

[applause] it's my pleasure again to join our senator leno, our supervisors kim and scott wiener and the entire committee that has worked so hard to put on this wonderful, wonderful festival for our entire city. i just love this time of the year. the year of the ram this year is going to be about artistry, about coming together supporting each other. i want to say thank you very much to the festival volunteer community and the vietnamese community and economic development center. they have been wonderful in putting this on and now that we're revitalizing market street there is a connection of the improvements of the area and connected up with market street and this is a wonderful

celebration that we have it here at the center of our united nations plaza. i want to congratulate all of the store front owners here the small businesses here for working together with us. we have been putting a lot of emphasis on our market street as of late and our investment in neighborhoods and i hope that the small business owners along that corridor have really appreciated the work we're doing together. things are always improving and look at the wonderful crowds that you have coming out today so we join you in this festival. it's now the 19th tech festival celebration in our city. we congratulate and continue wanting to work very closely with the vietnamese community. an in store collection box near the checks stand so customers can bring their used clothes to the store and deposit off. >> textile will be accessible in buildings thought the city and we have goodwill a grant for them to design a textile box especially for families. >> goodwill the well-known store has been making great strides. >> we grateful to give the items to goodwill it comes from us selling those items in our stores with you that process helps to divert things it from local landfills if the san francisco area. >> and the textile box will take it one step further helping
