1:39 am
to build it and not allow the crazy political some kind of to go beyond it's it's a lesson felt crossroads in san francisco in our region are we're going to make high speed rail and the downtown center a reality are we not only going to complete the subway and keep going with additional subways and make bus rapid transit a reality and go for the bart to continue to grow bart's in the city and get caltrain trek if i had and move forward aggressor with our efforts to make our streets safer for pedestrians and drivers and muni riders we have so much work to do and so many choices to make it's a question of the political will as a city and region to make those
1:40 am
difficult issues happy we don't regret making those happy but regret looking back and is why didn't we do that so this agency plays an important coordinating role with our city agrees to help us represent to the regional as a supervisor david campos on the mta we see how important the ta is to the mayor's office along with the mta so we need to continue to play that role and even play a greater role as the transportation authority i'm sure you're aware of we're to grow by 2 millions people and our city by one hundred and 50 thousand if we don't take the bold steps and keep moving to make sure our transportation system and roads and everything

1:51 am
the safety needs we've found in the access to regional services those are service disparities in our san francisco transportation plan some of the plans are underway in the western edition a full scale led by the sfmta and the potrero hill projects happening and some are funded by the early lifeline for example the potrero hill area on deck planning efforts in the outer mission and the maze in district 9 as well the treasure island management program we've been operating and implementing a few scale pro project practicing. for the ferry service and traffic on the bridge for towing and assembly tom we are they've for the ta future operations of the treasure island agency and along
1:52 am
those lines in terms of traffic management and looking at the role of pricing we're excited to begin our quarter management led by our deputy in planning a partnership with the caltrain and sfmta but with the san mateo partners as was mentioned the 101 and the 280 connecting san francisco and santa fe we're trying to insure we have an equitable framework for increasing the occupancy for the popcorns in those crossroads there the techniques our integrated travel management program has begun enter readies our balboa park study came to a
1:53 am
close and it's begun implementing the two main recommendations one to rebuild the southbound ocean off-ramp so it's no longer a free right whipping by the city college u the off-ramp it's a free right its hazardous to the pedestrians we're trying to key that off into a signaled intersection and close the geneva after the more detailed analysis for the highway administration to consider the closing of the off-ramp on the 19th avenue we work with mta and the dpw along the 19th avenue in development for quite a while but the good news we're delivering a complete street project on 189th avenue that excludes water and sir projects it is truly a state
1:54 am
local partnership the all night transportation study was requested by chair we're and supported by commissioner chiu as well as supervisor mar to look at the late night early needs of entertainment industry and we have the last year workforce that needs to travel at night the hotel and other workers and the transportation authority to provide the technical 0 support to the office of economic workforce development really great analysis and surveys we find important needs that already beginning to be addressed f the transbay corridor that identified it on behalf of bart it is providing bus service in the early morning hours the the waterfront transportation and the cabinet study we're working
1:55 am
on with the regional partners to further identify transbay and transit needs for all 3 operators this is muni and bart and caltrain and even our ac travel partners from the east bay moving from the planning activities to the funding this is the prop k sales tax as you can see given the responsibility economy the revenues are another an all-time high collecting $90 million a year and and a those attracts $4 and other funds for example we saw the auction availability of cap & trade revenues at the state level and have a robust strategy that we've identified with our city partners to capture as much as we can using the recent motor he approved funds to match
1:56 am
against state and federal fund and taking the 20 years out for the planned period and doing a strategic plan shu showing we have the funded and really freeing up through better financing bring up funds for the transbay authority and ideally drive for the packer parkway the funds we've the fact those to capital improvements for the transit reliability and transit safety we've saw 3 prongs including the san francisco 20th avenue paving and the staff closer with supervisor farrell and bart southwest and pedestrian improvements and continue to loot more funds on
1:57 am
which supervisor kim in this area right here in the tenderloin one area bay grant is for san francisco saurlz those are federal block funds that are meant to support the land use plans through lights a one bay area the housing area this is much of san francisco we're really one big transit oriented city, however, the city that are prior decided are moving forward those include the chinatown the corridor improvements that goes across 3 district and the long fell school and transbay bike and pedestrian improvements that have implements toward prelims the albeit the ta referred to the transportation for clean air the $4 for projects that reduce
1:58 am
the emissions not a large fund but it is important if or that tashtsd funds to reduce green house gas emissions for example we'll completed the slope with our bike lanes and ucsf has used those with the parking and san francisco environment uses those for the smart program the state improvement programs and the school and lifestyle programs are funded we prioritize and oftentimes the state plays an role the $12 million we advanced for the central subway was a big win we appreciate working with the mta to do that on the delivery side we begin about ground zero our citywide priority i can report that the
1:59 am
