12:05 pm
speedy so i don't screw up i wanted to remind the commissioners if you didn't read about it in the paper we have a hearing on the 23rd of february at the board of supervisors regarding our last night early morning transit work there was a lot of media attention on the report it's and it exists on line if you're interested in reading this is land use and supervisor wiener indicated to me and to the rest of the committee that he intended to fund future research around the initial so this report we wrote relative to what we could do in the future it a road map to improve last night transit that he will support in a policy way
12:06 pm
we are going to requeen the working group and if other commissioners are interested in being part of that let me know. >> and again, we do intend to bring this report review to you as a commission as well and i'm - what i'm waiting on the supervisors office to roll out a road shows as 2 were i expect in the month so you can see you know the sum of the events and some of the ideas that have come out of the report in the meantime point to me and i'll point you on line we continue to pursue supervisor kim's office related to riseing the llp to include areas south of market
12:07 pm
that currently don't allow live performance permit so when that is introduced we'll let you know keep you informed it is simple the drafting of the piece of legislation didn't mean it is going to move through the plaza spaces but be that as it may i was in los angeles two weeks ago from the 16 is to the 20 to represent this commission and the city at a conference 0 on the hospitality there were a few members of the police department that were through representing the city in terms of last night policing 0 the focus of the conference i found it interesting i'd like to hear from any think lieutenant falling zone who that might be in the back i can't see him it was there to let you know he
12:08 pm
thought it was as good as i thought i want to make sure that we look good to other cities from the cities all over north america canada we're a pioneer in terms of night life and entertainment regulations across north america we have a ways to go in terms of policing i mean policing what we do in many areas a unit of police that know night life and how to police night life and are cholgz based on the criteria that makes them suitable it is not everyone's for at a as a police to work with maybe drunk people and folks that need anymore direction so i hope to pursue
12:09 pm
that with our chief with the help of lieutenant so we'll see how that goes and as you mentioned president tan we have a new commissioner chief administrative officer one half i think i'll let you speaks for itself you want to introduce uterus. >> thank you hi, i'm dorsey and this is a very new role i got sworn in 15 minutes ago (laughter). >> i'm very excited to be here and work you and i have big shoes to fill i'm taking ann k07bd asset. >> high heals. >> i'm going to keep to short glad to meet everyone i'm a good listener.
12:10 pm
>> i put her on the spot i apologize so, yeah don't expect her to understand a lot of what you're doing she'll figure this out as quickly as possible and i'll help her along so then lastly under the heading of staff and office update is an update for the commission relative to the superbowl i mean, we'll be hosting the superbowl in the san francisco bay area in less than a year at this point so for us it's been 30 or wherever the events come to san francisco and in this case to the regime to see how many of our permitted businesses to engage in the benefit of something like this if millions of people come to the city or the bay area to enjoy an event like the superb it means a week
12:11 pm
in raps of parties and spin-offs we can get as much of the economic value so we've reached out to the superbowl committee to see how we can help fascinate the connections and to this pointed we worked with rosy spaulding our contact in some of the ownerships so she is flifrlt requests from nfl sponsors through the committee and what she's done is asked us i've given her a database of our priest test with such information so she can be that filter when folks through the nfl committee and the sponsors come is to the group here she is oh, yes. i have a venue that
12:12 pm
holds 5 hundred or whatever it is they're looking for i hope she'll let us know when that's happening and stay in touch those of you in the industry of other opportunity or ways to engage because we would like to get people out thought just the you know tourist areas introt neighborhood and using the night life facilities those folks are not aware of places that don't do entertainment all the time so i hope that is helpful and we'll continue to see how much more we can get out of the superbowl on the venue side i'm done i'm going to turn it over to the inspectors to see what they have to tell you. >> thank you executive order cane and good evening,
12:13 pm
commissioners very have a couple of items to mention one administrative cancellation to the chapel on 777 van ness we've been working with the multiple members of the staff to try to contain the amount of sound on the stages during the event until they get additional construction and sound proofing done occasionally they'll have the type of event that exceeds the event and this is one that night life a fairly loud band and more to be done to contain the sound like and suddenly one bit of information will an applicant something on the agenda the delores cafe we received a complaint a couple of weeks back i've discussed strategies with ownership there
12:14 pm
about keeping sound at bay and making sure that they have the tools to insure a peaceful neighborhood after a site visits two weeks ago we heard from the complainant so i guess all things are working if there's anything on my notes or questions about anything i've mentioned pleased let me know. >> any questions. >> nope. >> all right. >> good evening, commissioners i've furnished all of you with notes my notes that i'm not going to take time to explain anything unless you have questions if you do i'll answer them now if noting we'll move on. >> do we have a chance to look at the notes can you give us a
12:15 pm
highlight. >> sorry sorry yeah. >> complainant came into the office a few weeks therapy complaining about a party an 777 before a done street i went by several times wasn't successful until a recent stop i stopped and talked to the people they didn't know who i was i was able to get a lot of information and they seemed to have gotten the message i talked to the complainant that morning and he hadn't heard any noise they have parties in their basement loud participants and there's not been future. >> what is the nature of the establishment. >> it's like a garage and it is connected to a residential
12:16 pm
condominium complex so under the garage a basement and they have yeah. activity there or whatever so - >> thank you. >> just a comment i think it is interesting both the inspector and poly have two complaint of warehouse parties it speaks to the need of more space as explicit condo develop and more people come to the city not the same growth of the venues so people have to fourth and fourth how do we throw a party under the radar and clubs closed they're a planning on building condo the great venue i'm just for the people out there in tv land you know, i think there is a need for us to think about where does entertainment go as the city grows and in other sort
12:17 pm
of examples this is another highlight of that one question i have because i noticed the basement a couple of meetings about them are they i mean from i know this is a sound test but are things going pretty well with the neighbors. >> yeah. it seems it is going smooth they've not turning up the music we haven't taken the sound test he told them not to do that given the process we haven't gone through the process so i think right now the people from faith fools are not available that day i told them i'll take the test i have a level all the other checks passed and you'll need to liaison with them and do a sound test like at the level he has a
12:18 pm
sound test and once then i'll definitely go by tdr there and do a sound test. >> any other questions for the inspectors any public comment on this item? on the executive director's report or our inspectors report? i don't see any all right. let's move on item number 4 is our police sorry police department questions or comments so officer ma sister has something to say? hello steve from the central station since the last time we had a hearing quite a bit has 4579d in the central district i'll go over the incidents there was a shooting on broadway and i columbus not related but as far
