than one year here we're showing the data last fall and the dictated now in the spring so ass as you can see in the springtime 69.2 percent of the students are on track to graduate this is approximately 2 mount 7 percent increase from the fall that was of .9 percent and you can see the next category with the students have total credits they're missing an average of credits 19.2 percent and look further down students are up to one semester 4 percent off track up to one year 40 percent and students off track they're up to 4.1 percent loovthd the existing expanding support for off track students
4:45 am
if you add up the students you add up in the students if the missing classes for graduation we're projecting 88.7 percent of current students projected to graduate high school in four years. >> excuse me. you see the 2.7 percentage increase that's important we continue to be committed i'll see the lines from the superintendent we're committed to system change innovate necessarily system improvements we want to see one hundred percent graduation if we continue with the fidelity and the support of board of education and with the systems in place this percentage will only get better we're completed to a hundred percent graduation
4:46 am

4:50 am
grader but charging students before ethnic grade so they won't endure that significant drop. >> it is an interesting chart if we're looking at trends and patterns one of the things the a there g are for credit recovery we've been clear and the board is clear i want to focus on for a second almost 24 base points dropped from ethnic grade that's why it is so important through the peace funding to increase the awareness we're practicing in making a pivot from acute care why are we treating terminal patients once their terminal why not practice the

prevent make sure that's why the villages and other support that are being put in place that supports the pop up the drop from 75 percent to the 9th grade year not the failing costs but what are we doing to prevent the off track measure. >> moving to the next slow down a summary the credit opportunity offered by the support preliminary evening and saturday and bottom line and summer school and sprout summer schools that included the have them for new comers last so your testimony over one hundred
4:52 am
students graduated through the summer school and the at the other end of the table shows you the table of participation for last year and as well as fall and as you can see the increase of students in the spring and that's primary because we're including the ninth graders on track. >> good evening, commissioners i'm karen the supervisor of counseling as you can see there's a variety of support serviced for the school sites one thing the counselor do to support they create a 4 year plan their monitoring their academic achievement so when students fall into those statistics they provide the credit recovery in order to get the streets back open track for graduation and this has been a collaborative process over the

4:54 am
families that participateed and there's 47 last i couldn't tell year this school year in the fall 81 and having two more sessions this spring that took advantage of that. >> so that concludes our pay attention i think this is a further example of the incredible collaboration between c and i secondary is the dawn of a new era for the support in the various strategy way in support of our strategy goals of the program. >> we have one public speaker then move into questions from my colleagues once we'll move back to our marcie.
