woods our largest shop that has an area that covers the entire city as well as going downtown the next group that is coming in right now will cover the 60 foot buses cover the roots both krould like the 38 for example and the 14 those kinds of roots and this group your 30 years us to move forward with today it covers all the lines in the city what we're doing is a 4 year process when we started 24 about 3 and a half years ago we had the old fleet in the city ideally what we want to do is have the fleet between six or seven years old and we recapture
1:02 pm
the taxpayers investment and have high levels of reliability for the process in terms of the assignment of buses we are going to for the most part put the busses where the riders are we're distancing reviewing the service plan including many weekend 3 services on our most crowded lines. >> there is a motion and a second all in favor, say i. >> the i's have it. >> the last item before we move into closed session the first speaker (calling names). >> ms. barker. >> good afternoon. >> hello. thank you my name is georgia anna i'm here

to oppose the bus stop at central and king that bus line serves a number of elderly and disabled customers not only will they have trouble taking the community baselines it will slow down those this is a bigger city problem with viable terms in the various and the roots that people face every morning and afternoon that encourages the neighborhood to have a cohesive community that is not a cost benefit analysis the nuances have failed to take into account the multiple viable option for transit that has on people without viable alternatives neighborhood like the penalty will losses their benefits we're facing what kind of city we want
1:04 pm
this may be a question of one or two bus stops but speaks for our future one i hope that makes vibrant community a good one. >> thank you. next speaker, please. >> (calling names). >> good afternoon directors thank you your i own a small business on the corner of hayes and central 20 years ago when this neighborhood was not branded as not an up and coming neighborhood one of the reasons i picked 3 corner was the unit bus stop that goes downtown it enabled me to stay 2, 3, 4 business, however it is not just my business that depended on on that in bound bus stop but a lot of customers i have a lot of customers that are older than
1:05 pm
most of the older businesses last year to mine there's another two stops gloss bye bye the particular grade of that bus stop allows them to get on the bus and furthermore a lot of private bused i'm not take the opportunity the buses but the shuttle buses a tremendous amount of people waiting for those buses it's hard for them to get on and come to those meetings the last hearing that was quite a few of them showed up the majority said they wanted to keep the bus stop and quite a few people that are not necessarily elderly they prefer that to other stops because of itself you know easy of use and also i'd like to say that the
1:06 pm
stop through it is close to the other ones because they have businesses open all the time they feel safer to use those buses rather than the other ones and i wish you would reconsider that that would be a great help to other people in the neighborhood if you let stay (calling names). >> hello. >> thank you classroom and i'm with the taxi alliance i want to call your attention to a bad idea that might soap become a reality mta staff has been talking with airport management about excluding cabs from picking up at the airport this is the 8 thousand series with
1:07 pm
the cab company, the s medallions which are restricted medallions and spare cabs they're out of service this is simply a horrible horrible idea when you shut out certain cabs from the airport your shutting out the drivers of those carvings your creating a second class cabs this is terrible republic concussions for companies not findings drivers to drive those cabs some of the drivers will have not choice and be forced to drive those cabs and not having assess to the airport is paramount to a
1:08 pm
sentence it is the cause of airport congestion because sfo has let in uber and lobbyist and they serve the international airport but certain cab drivers can't if this goes through this is really, really wrong i urge you most strongly not to go ahead with this there are better ways to handle airport congestion. >> i don't want to interrupt but to save the time it's mined director reiskin that proposal has been she felt or put off for now; is that correct i'll take advantage to thank the others
1:09 pm
that brought this to my attention and the attention of the board you heard with the director said thank you you made a stronger point it was heard and our a vibrant part of this process i personally say thank you to you all. >> (calling names). >> herbert wiener i unfortunately missed the display by spur of the affirmative that noted the map of the new muni routes i'd like to have a copy of it the proposals for the restructuring the bus services i tried to see the exhibit i failed to do so the person at spur said this is available for mta i'd like to see that and general comment i noticed that a lot of planning can be deavailed of political
1:10 pm
and social valuables in the urges of world war i the dreams of world war i was the quick interpretation of germany over france they would have to go through belgium and what happened then was bringing sided with the side of the allies this is an example of when plans are devoid of reality on the seniors and the disabled i've mentioned this point i'll continue to do so until the address is made too xhoelthd bus routes didn't speed up transportation at all and the buses are running slowly even
1:11 pm
though there's several consolidations it is peril where people have to walk uphill and i invite the commissioners to take a scroll only 19th avenue to get a bus you must address the real realty and not think in terms of dollars and cents. >> thank you. >> (calling names). >> good afternoon. >> mary maguire taxi driver finally there's some endorsement at the ball park the tickets $103 but it is really their right to use your cabstands and also as conflict i saw aggressive endorsement last friday night it is not enough on friday night the staff was there
1:12 pm
at 6:00 p.m. but when i went back at 7 they gave out a lot of tickets the stand was loaded up with tmc when you told a driver i was threatened i was looking over my shoulder the whole weekend accepting to see this person i drive a cab kate torn told us to take the high road but how can we when they're not there most of the time we have no where to go people flag use it is point less to drive around and around last week, a cab driver at the ball park was physically
1:13 pm
assaulted there's footage and lift claimed this driver didn't work but he had the pink mustache so that driver we're looking at it where he's driving for us does that mean if they don't have a passenger they're not driving uber the streets are dangerous the tmc consumers are diving into trough and we're getting physically and nonverbal assaulted where's the panicking e panic become a major cab cop company moved to when they're in las vegas what happens if you have an emergency i want to look at the emergency
1:14 pm
dispatch procedures (calling names). >> good afternoon, sir. >> good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, i'm here to talk about the 21 excuse me. a 21 line the hayes line there's a proposal to shorten it or eliminate it or take out the bus stop at hayes and central i 53ly oppose this i live near there i'll have to walk further and it will be more difficult on some days also i depends on the 21 line it takes it me straight done outside of walgreens where i get my medication and across

the street at post office and the business line to come home fallout at 8 and martin matthews that my bank i'll use another bank and the 21 line i heavy don't think on i feel the eliminations will not help the 5 line will not service me on like on the 21 i'll plead please heavy will i dependent on the 21 line. >> thank you very much (calling names). >> good afternoon. >> good afternoon agency members in a dangerly can dense manner
1:16 pm
the san francisco municipal transportation agency ladies and gentlemen they're proposing to cut the direct service on the general hospital the only bus line that runs from the richmond hate ashbury and mission district to the i urge this agency to join the health center and the community advisory committee and the senior district and action committee to oppose those sdainlz cuts to the 33 hate ashbury bus line many seniors and disabled don't have a way to get there to suggest to get off the 33 would be exposing this vulnerable population to unnecessary risk of accident and injury shouldn't be allowed to
1:17 pm
happen this is a gent indication issue sfmta is attending to favor in a highly damaging and probably illegal fashion the.org community at mission bay over seniors and low income and the disagreement have for generation to use the 33 for general and it's clinics to add insult to injury the staff went on record there's a parking crisis at general cutting the 33 line to general will only exacerbate generals parking crisis all this when general hospital is expanding why is sfmta not working to support and enhance that extension by keeping the 33 serving all san franciscans
1:18 pm
thank you he. >> thank you. next speaker, please. >> up to the microphone here. >> good afternoon. >> good afternoon directors i too want to start off by remembering peter macy who was great guy i'm here to talk about the 33 as well i in regards to primarily i keep hearing it will now stop short and be at the 16th and potrero will not take the folks to general hospital
1:19 pm
i have not seen anything other than the sfmta plan yet that is actually showing this on a map both certain supervisors offices saying this is what's happening i think this would be a egregious and in some cases cruel as people going to the hospital are sick their older and it is very difficult for them to transfer and to be so close to the hospital and to ask them to transfer is not a good thing as far as spates between 16th and 18th where the 3 that will now will be going to gerrero i think this is a very big mistake in many ways i think basically it should go
1:20 pm
to church street and come back because gerrero is too busy and too many things going on thank you very much. >> thank you. next speaker, please. >> (calling names). >> sir gone. >> boor and douglas and tune lee. >> hi barry toronto i'm here again decorators and tom nolan first my heart goes out to the family it is really sad what happened then and to all the cab drivers it shouldn't happen we should be more careful and drivers and pedestrians 0 on the streets of san francisco and
1:21 pm
lesson in her name we're looking out for traffic signals and the legislation regarding tmcs i think this body should weigh in to our lobbyist to react to this regarding i want to also want to thank carolyn for all her public records she's a wonderful hubby find out was conflict issue from the e-mails that kate torn and tom maguire did a wonderful job in handling the controversy over this, however, when i discovered the people low down didn't bring this information out jarvis murray and michael harris have not helping the cab industry by going yes yes, yes we're not
1:22 pm
realizing the cab effects and the e-mails show they couldn't care less that the - of the impact that causes and we all have to show up in meetings and take valuable staff time to get this done you ought 0 look at who is staffing 33 and their job the baseball is season support is horrible we need more investigators how the there after the games to make it easy for cab drivers to do their jobs and michael harris shouldn't call me another 8 o'clock in the morning but call me later in the day. >> thank you. >> (calling names) >> i'd like to thank the action for allowing me to do public
1:23 pm
comment as far as the airport i've documented the tmc drivers causing congestion another the sfo airport with uber has been allowing drivers to drive thought the terminals seeking rides that's a big problem and furthermore as well as what moving forward let's ask the question how can we incorporate more technology for the tmc and not taking advantage of the came back we have basis the big problem with sfo the tmc tracking mechanisms are not fixed to the vehicle we don't know how many vehicles and the tmc drivers hide their phones this is a big problem and many monitoring those companies and tare drivers we don't know how
1:24 pm
many derivatives are out there and furthermore as well as the issues and stuff at the airport i think with with the existing technology our taxis are responders they know which drivers come in at certain times why not reduce air pollution and incorporate more technology and furthermore i think the tmc drivers more technology for tmc driver we should have finger printing and the live scanner we can used it to insure we know who is driving the vehicle thank you very much. >> thank you very much. >> (calling names). >> good evening - good
1:25 pm
