ing that back to actually the ta, but also, the treasure island, mowbility agency and this body will have the first meeting as that new governing body, the tima board on may 19th and so we thank you in advance for your service on the treasure island, management agency and so that first meeting again will happen in may, and more information to come on that. >> and on the water front, so much is happening and if you recall it was about a year ago, that supervisors kim, and weiner both asked for mta and the mta to collaborate on an assessment on the transportation needs and in conjunction with some of the planning at the time that was connected to the warrior stadium and the community was concerned and everybody wanted to understand both the local and the regional needs associated with the water front development, and that work has reaching some milestone and it will be presented at a public meeting on again, may 13th, and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the port of san francisco and i really

want to thank the supervisor staffs and inviting us in that work and look forward to continuing that work, through the san francisco transportation plan as well as the core, the regional transit core capacity study which will in particular look at the bay bridge corridor and how we can boost the transit capacity in a short meeting and long term through the express bus all wait up to the bart tube and the transbay tube going across the bay. and so it is very exciting work and we want to thank the teams for that. and the neighborhood transportation improvement program continues to take shape. and next month, or this coming month you will see coming before you the prop k funding request for district two which will be looking at adding management to the lumbard street and the model for district nine and the two district ten capitol projects east of chavez as well as the

partreo hill, improvements and we have already made allocations in district one to support the bike improvements in the north and south corridors as well as in arguelo and in district five we have initiated the western addition, planning with the sfmta and so we are excited that the project and plans are continuing to take shape. highlighting the project delivery milestones and there is aers of new vehicles that are coming to san francisco last week on earth day, sfmta unveiled the new low emission buses, 62 and 61 new hybrid buses, and we in prop k have already provided that funding to combine with the city's prop a and prop b fund and we are very excited these vehicles are going to vastly improve the reliability and the capacity of our system and it is all part of muni plan and it is the forward plan that they launched

this past weekend to significantly improve service along the major routes such as the geary38 and the ax and the all of them are receiving more service throughout the bay and the am and the evening pa*eks and even on the weekends as well and so we are excited to see all of these improvements happens and to continue to support that, and we pledge our support as well as that work continues. >> on the para transit vehicle side, we want to highlight that it has helped to fund, 31 new para transit vans and so we were able to secure that funding and mta was able to move those new vans into service a year ahead of the initial schedule. finally, on the bart and muni escalators just a highlight that mta will be implementing a grant from the prop k to match, 15 million in federal transit funds to improve the escalators

at stations at castro, church and civic center and van ness and powell and this is a larger face of a project and the first phase improved at church and powell and van ness and so this will set up additional ability to reduce maintenance cost and bring them up to the code and incorporate the modern safety features, finally i would like to congratulate lee and his team and the parkway team for receiving the first green roads sustainability award, and the project received a bronze rating for the first phase and with the green roads is a non-profit that manages environmental projects and in doing so the parkway is the first certificated sustain able highway project in the country and so congratulations to the team. >> thank you, thank you, miss chang and commissioner cohen. >> i just have a follow up question for the, for miss change and thank you for your presentation this morning and i want to go back to your report

about the plan up date, could you give me a sense of what i can expect and i am thinking about attending this, this open house and i am wondering is there going to be a universal presentation? >> yeah. >> you mentioned the report about the break out sessions. >> sure, and i am interested in the break out sessions but i am interested in the overview and an up date on where we are. >> absolutely. >> and thank you for your interest and i do encourage you to attend if you can make it, and this will be a workshop hosted by the regional agencies and willing to explain to the public what the regional planning process is, and what are the planned area and how does it effect our communities and how do the folks get involved? orientation for the process, which we go through in earlier, and is it is understood, and so it is a lot of high level concepts around funding, and around how do we meet our greenhouse gas, reduction goals as a state and as a region, but how it really effects the locals here is the link to the

county wide transportation plan as well as the other planning activities that are happening such as the neighborhood plans that i just highlighted and how do they ultimately make the way into the federal and state and other funding that the regional transportation plan prioritizes. >> our hope is to educate the mtc commissioners and the way that the mtc and the way that they are structuring is there is no presentations and it is more like a presentation, and the feedback. >> thank you, thank you very much. >> commissioner mar. >> yeah, i was just going to add that the last time that there was a planned area, and

workshops around the region and ann from the mtc and i facilitated a little bit of a conversation but it sounds like it is different this time, and i think that the effort to raise awareness of the regional, planning and getting input is critical and it is a great process to learn about how you are conducted. it is a good opportunity to see how it fits in the broader planning for the housing jobs and transportation and linkages and i did want to thank chair weiner, and our director change for talking about the bay area bike share expansion and so i think that it is really exciting to see, from a couple of 100 bikes, and bike share, and with a few stations here to tend fold, increase the 4,000 bikes and i really like the 20 percent of the stations in the communities of concern and the lower income of communities it

is an opportunity to connect up, many unconnected neighborhoods. and i am having, ridden the bike share programs in mexico city, with our chair weiner and former share avalos and others, but also, austin and new york city's programs and i think that our regional, bike share could really be the model around the country, and it is time now that it has gone out of business and the new motivate to really look at private sector support and i am looking forward to and i guess that i will brag that i am one of the annual members, since the very beginning and i ride it often but to know that i could hop off in a bart station and ride to a meeting in oakland or berkeley will be really great and to start to use it more to get around to the south bay, as well as going to be and i know that usf

students, out in my district are saying that they really want to be connected but i know that it is planned out to expand to the areas where there is transit and to connect up the unconnect areas but i am excited about the area bike share and i am happy about this expansion but i wanted to thafrpg our staff, but also the bay area and air quality management district and soon, mtc's staff in taking it on. >> and thank you, commissioner mar.
