partner we also do this in collaboration with the united indicators and the administrators of san francisco and matthew harding if u e and jean r0sh9 son from the united administrator with us here this afternoon (clapping) and, of course we couldn't u counseled do what we need to do in our public school system button the board of education thank you, joe and rachel norton and you sandra fewer >> i rehabilitation want to thank sprirps have representatives that are up here and i can't tell me how african to supervisors that pay attention to our school and value their importance and many go and visit our schools and

incorporate their system so i want to thank you supervisor norman yee julie christensen and 63 and katie tang in district 4 (clapping) and next to katie is our fabulous assessor our which none of you have any idea it is carmen chu it is fanatic a former supervisor in district 4 i'm going to put pressure on you carmen chu would have braft with all her principle and bring them on the bay to welcome them to their school year carmen chu thank you she collection and accesss our properties that trickled into the school

district so come and talk about the trial judge down effect and who gets impacted cayman thank you for being here it means a lot to us (clapping.) now our process is not a simple process we actually ask for nomination throughout the year we we collect the nomination this year 1906 and 77 teacher nomination from 67 schools so they go there a rigorous process with the personnel files and we're looking for outstanding evaluations and insuring the commitment of 5 years a minimum of 5 years and then we have a panel that so our panel has every year kind of grasped with the idea of those all of those

operations and figuring out who comes out on top i want to acknowledge our blue ribbon panel shawn steinberg is here she doesn't make it she is with the san francisco ed fund the coordinated for the program and annie the executive director of the certified recruitment and staffing in the human resources and david a traditionally erratically treat the aligning high school he voted on the teachers and kari the director of the hertz learning center at draws school if we can give a welcome applause they

(clapping.) they spent many hours working with us and really looking at the qualification of the teachers and the same went for the principles although we didn't have a blue ribbon panel they were genocide by the public and the community and by their peers and by their sproirpz and supervisors you were. >> nominated 349 principle nomination from the schools so congratulations for that we we're super excited (clapping) now through the selection process the solicitation of goodies for our teachers and principles we have amazing sponsors in the room i'm going

that one thousand dollars didn't come close to our time and energy but your legacy we know are all of those children for generations that come through our clamors and schools that internal revenue living and breathing examples of your work they're your legacy they're our elected officials our business leaders our parent sending their kids to public schools on behalf of everyone the 47 thousand students over 8 thousand employees in the district i want to say thank you, very much. for your service and enjoy today this is for you (clapping). >> the last thing is takes a village one of the things we're proud of in san francisco you can tell i'm stretching a little bit as well okay

because everyone knows i don't like to speak into a microphone; right? but one of the things we're very, very proud of our board of education is s has perspiring tied what happens in the public schools to the extent from our policies and the contestants we're having about what it is we're doing in san francisco is grounded how we are supporting every single of our students i had the opportunity to reach ash biographies and why you were selected i've got to tell you i was teary eyed what you continue to do from being present in the audience when ohio i didn't has her students distance and sfolth i see our youngest students starting the pathway to education where i go

to high schools at lincoln high school thousand of students yet if you stand in the hallway he know all the students name he give them a high 5 and he'll come back on the remarks and there's a joy it happens bus you love kids and students and encourage them to be successful so that's really what this is all about thank you for what you do i'll tell you on monday, i had the opportunity to attend a chinese game with the teacher of the year i have to say their enregister it was family a lot and even though the night got chilly it was cold but again, it was so wonderful on the big jumping both train inform have

talent around the world know if if he focused on the low and behold talent there will be greater companies it is for our teachers and principles we're lucky because we do have a stronger relationship and one that i personally work with good reason i'm a product of public schools that's what got me into one of the most expensive colleges hardly anyone can afford i came back with the law school berkley i've said my public teachers are the ones that taught me the evaluations that i hold and i'm pretty lucky, in fact, it was my history teacher way back when in public school that had a big influence that said there was a lot of things you have to be yours and be studyus is one

thing but having a kind of vision of the real world is what i think teachers those days play more and more of a role and you open up people's principles and hopefully, they have enough faith and that's what teachers do san francisco i know our relationship is strong i know we don't think you not only in the classroom but the entire campus has to be safe and inviting and positive and initiative you've been awarded and awarded for that with respect to the teachers we've had our moment on the fold of the giants and we had a lot of fun but for the prince promises i was wondering why you all leave. >> three-quarters it wasn't set

up that way (laughter) your all knuckle or chosen i want to say to you that not only do the gifts and the recognition that you all deserve are being had today in front of peers and families and friends and students even but i want you to know the city truly appreciates you and our public schools system as well and we will be there for you those are good minds we know we're there but i want to say if anything happens in bad times we should be there these days we're talking about how to build future housing so the talent is in the city that will be a good reward
