week the distinct pleased and how were you of spending a wonderful evening at the san francisco baseball game it turned out great the warmth amongst the teachers was good it recognizes our public public schools for the dedication and for their work on behalf of the city's young people in addition mayor ed lee this year recognized this year four principles that work hard and dedication tonight i'd like to honor those principals and the tahoe's this happened on may 5th vera diane williams a pre k teacher to my left at the early education and teacher anothers

rosa parks and maria a second grade teacher at robert louis stevenson and karen a physical education teacher and hydra a 12 grade plus attraction at the arc can i please ask for a round of applause for our teacher we know that leadership matters i'd like to recognize our principals candice lee at early education and sophie lee at sunset elementary school and kenneth lee principal at freelance middle school and barney by principal at abdominal high school how about a round of applause for the principals of

the year on behalf of the entire board of education i want to congratulate our wonderful teachers and principals and extend a special recognition for the recognition of our teachers and principals i've got to tell you they received quite the gift bag a brand new laptop evenings and hotels with significant others of their choice and gift certificates to restaurants but they all deserve it i wish we could do that important all educators thank you for those who support our teachers and principals as an update as i mentioned a few weeks ago we are administering algebra one common core algebra we administered that i scripted in daily the

rigorous process so i'd like to update the community about the results of that validation examine the finding are tentative and the final resolution to parents will happen later this week, however, all the scores are entered so for the common core algebra one validation out of 6 hundred and 60 students many scored before 40 out of 54 the math team has assembled and we are evaluating and so students understanding is holistically determined and where the 40 percent is is the cut point our outside partnerships o partners of the common core standards are helping us to look at the exams to determine whether the scores

are appropriate the unified school district students did better than on the exam that students arbitrarily from private schools that is the level of rigor around mathematics the final results will be later this week past friday we had the spark technology campaign at the tech shop gallery a citywide fund-raising for the technology to all schools along with other community schools we're thrilled that be papering or partnership with tilt with a platform for this effort through sf city circles a number of partnerships cvs have helped to raise funds for the initiatives that are

important to their schools i want to thank you supervisor tang that gave 5 thousand dollars to each of her district 4 schools as a challenge grant to meet or beat her initial grant most of the school is classrooms among other devised thank you, mayor ed lee and mr. hussein our board president entertainment commission and julie all partnered in giving remarks and thank you to mr. haney and hydra mendosa-mcdonnell and adrenalins ladies and gentlemen if you're interested in supporting one the school goals it is simply wwwdot unified school district.org it is that simple you'll see a

leads our young athletes was supporting the football team through the pumping ma academy surl student therapists are not taught on the healthy relationships and not aware their commenting assault this is to end the sexual assault we were not aware those are happening on campuses by thieves currently in the track and field from burton high school that are involved their collaboration burton wellness center and the ymca in addition the youth work with the capping han haitian to host the events this program is

in operation since 2013 and an from from girls joining the program there are students that reached out for support on issues that related to the gender and equality and students feel safer that burton promotes rape preservation it is affiliate with baseball and track and field teams and on the athletics there are currently outreach and completed they're first credulous event at the time university of san francisco they received an award from the ymca association this year and in addition it was showcased at the recent ymca and young lunch fundraiser most of the therapists felt that was - the programing their do is
