the year on behalf of the entire board of education i want to congratulate our wonderful teachers and principals and extend a special recognition for the recognition of our teachers and principals i've got to tell you they received quite the gift bag a brand new laptop evenings and hotels with significant others of their choice and gift certificates to restaurants but they all deserve it i wish we could do that important all educators thank you for those who support our teachers and principals as an update as i mentioned a few weeks ago we are administering algebra one common core algebra we administered that i scripted in daily the

rigorous process so i'd like to update the community about the results of that validation examine the finding are tentative and the final resolution to parents will happen later this week, however, all the scores are entered so for the common core algebra one validation out of 6 hundred and 60 students many scored before 40 out of 54 the math team has assembled and we are evaluating and so students understanding is holistically determined and where the 40 percent is is the cut point our outside partnerships o partners of the common core standards are helping us to look at the exams to determine whether the scores

are appropriate the unified school district students did better than on the exam that students arbitrarily from private schools that is the level of rigor around mathematics the final results will be later this week past friday we had the spark technology campaign at the tech shop gallery a citywide fund-raising for the technology to all schools along with other community schools we're thrilled that be papering or partnership with tilt with a platform for this effort through sf city circles a number of partnerships cvs have helped to raise funds for the initiatives that are
