of the city as we got talking the formation of sf city the citizens the initiative was born out after a sense that there was something in my background that said community, community, community in san francisco was the way that companies should work fast forward from that meeting another very inspiring meeting took place between myself and my education folks that said what do we want to accomplish mr. mayor as you occupy this office and as we try to create the riderships i said well i got those innovation companies that are going to do pretty good in this city their discovering all those wonderful ideas using technology but that they're asking me to make a link

with community and i said to hydra my dream is that the world-class standards and the world-class opportunity that this companies are creating can find the talent that he want and they've involved in home growing it that became the second conversation i had leading to this day that was i wish that our school district u school district become that talent pool for our innovative companies that began a real alignment reestablished you're my preshgz start but more to be done and so as the cementing of my relationship with superintendent

carranza and highs entire school board became more we started the partnership and with the technology company starting forming a program called circle our schools we've got to know what that truly means he know toy we have a number of principles that given to release circle the partnerships and accident school district participating the superintendant has to come about in a trusting way a way in which discussion of about investment in our schools is inspiring to the entire sdubt a discussion of the community how it is linked through the principles of education of what those really are and what they

school and one-on-one i was hooked it was profound as i realized a tremendous impact that technology can have in our lives a terrific impact this loan has changed my life entirely quite literally i crossed the ocean to the united states to pursue my dream and with the use of technology to better our lives i came to san francisco and built tilt it is a a classroom that puts money together to make things happen to not only goat even though associate support but an impact on the world with a positive impact right here right now and connecting tools with technology giving the opportunity that was the reason i pursued my dream and the reason i stand in front

technology it is about technology but more it is not a mistake it is not only about partnership but what this is about is redefining how school communities are able to come together absolutely be clear about what they want to do and engage the world in their dreams so let me tell you work the video you saw from sf international i get teary eyed every time he see that how appropriate the co-founder of actual is an international person not born in the united states and everyone of the students that said thank you at the end of the video in their language the one thing that brings them together they're all

learning english but connected to the technology in san francisco so the fact that you know they've identified the importance is the computer lab a critically important to knot in a global economy the students in san francisco will not be expediting with students from san francisco for the jobs in did future but in yvl and the country china if we don't have the ability to give them the tools to be competitive we're denying ism equality and social justice many in their future how power is it when sf international identifies this is what they want to do i would venture to say this lady did not go to school to be a film maker are any kind of technology

implementer but an educator when we bring our partners together with our educators and have a collective dream and build a video and build the back end how power is that to transform was our schools do so what this is about it perspire and the last thing i that is important to monopolies and be clear we have on a challenge in san francisco much like the rest the country i'll give true examples i'm not going to say the names i want to protect the innocent but if you take school a and b both elementary schools in san francisco and they both fund-raise school a want to fund-raise they have a gardening project and need technology but they also want to have balanced

literacy and libraries appropriate in everyone of their classrooms it happens school b has the same desire they engage on a fundraising continental and a has as couple of engineers they have professional and know how to fund-raise and a marketing person school b has working hard individuals working very hard not very moping most people work in a professional capacity school a raise money over hundred thousand dollars findings of the year to fund their dream school b is really proud because they've got $10,000 how did this judge what this allows us to do anyone in san francisco and beyond to log
