suspect punctured the neighbor in the face and until he forced the suspect into 9 ground he had swelling on his face and arms and legs our investigation revealed the suspect was going to kill his 65-year-old girl stabbed her not face and head and chest and all throughout her body getting punch wounds with thirty and to her shoulders and arms the victim survived and is recovery in conclusion that was a domestic violence case that might be resulted in a tragedy if not for the gentleman placing his safety at risk he's been

ms. davis and i'm she recall davis i run a program called more magic in the western edition and i just wanted to briefly get up here i'll try to go through this quickly i want to introduce those who young men i know that commissioner president loftus will talk about this i want to talk about a program we launch this you summer there will be 7 different cohorts each focuses on a different area those young men will do work with sfpd they have great ideas and individual projects they want to collaborate and some projects they'll be workinging with their 20 charges with the folks in the summer the other a human rights commission a group that is working on the fair chance

ordinances to make sure people know and people that are looking at prop 47 and groups looking at how people identify based on the neighborhood and how we change prospective i know when we did our group meeting they called auto neighborhoods who lives in the worker who he lives in potrero hill when they said the tenderloin kids looked like what they thought someone was being funny they have a prospective before about that representation this group will work not justice department how we look or where we live and another young man and lady will focus on how to build relationships that sfpd and get people from public

from abraham lincoln high school i'm city pretty young and worked with the police officers i was with them this year i came back as an interim and kwaed e questioned what does the community of color to join law enforcement look like i have to get my interim and come together and show the recruitment program so we're going to go to the community like hunters point and bayview and treasure island and people in the fillmore and interview them and ask them questions what would make you want to become a police officer and the barriers that preventive you, you can sit here and talk about a million years but unless you get the people not becoming

police officers to speak on their point of view they'll not be police officers thank you mr. washington arrest i attended lois lane university i'm working with jerry i have a group of 20 a group of 20 students around the neighborhood our focus is really to work with the school system and sfpd to create more of a i guess connection between the police officers that patrol the middle school and really find a way to find more of a relativeable way as of right now for high schoolers they think that police officers only do

they see on tv arresting people more than that there's a lot more behind the scenes in the police cars and going around the neighborhoods but so we really want to create a connection between the students and the police officers at the school so they can relate to each other and yeah, so we can't have those problems and be able to find a way for minority to be in the san francisco police department and we're working on a project to work with the city college of san francisco and find a way to take courses in high school they'll have a step up instead of in their a semester in they'll have no more experience in having an interest in the police department and fire department.
