developed quality programs for families have a one-stop place to apply for hours public assistance and employment opportunity, childcare and trainings to sustain their family i lead a 12 job development sites serving 5 hundred 95 kids through our head start program and lead a network of family childcare providers serving 6 hundred low income families that will have provider programs those provides the family to move them out of poverty like the families i serve i grasp in a low income immigrant my mom moved us to the united states my mom was a seam

stressed ass as a result i grew up in the factory i slept there and after many years of struggling and faces again domestic violence my mom applied for assistance i grew up with gangs and high crime and drugs and received medal and food stamps my mom didn't speak english and like any kid's i see at the age of 7 i have to help my family navigate and translate i felt the embarrassment of the frustration of those services and saw the benefits the benefits not only help to keep us alive but provides water my mom skills to help her gain confidence in here life i sat

with my mom in classes sponsored by the welfare department i remember here sense of pride and accomplishment something that had been anything's throughout my choold liquor store i remember the sense of pride as a summer youth worker my first exposure of the no point services program it was that experience that helped to lay a path to my career after graugs graduation i lead and created a business development program for low income residents to quote for jobs in the graphic arts industry today, i'm a mom of too young boys attending childcare in san francisco one will start kindergarten in august my child has special

needs i worry about their well-being and getting them into the elementary school after-school program and for me getting the right family support services i have a therapists to support my 2-year-old to have an even start with his piers in conclusion i have the experience but i believe that my personal experience will be greater assets the champions of my childhood and being a mom can't be part of the school or by hearing and working with others i know what it medians to be poor and the difference programs can help families my goal to give a voice to families that might not have one and support of the city vision for strong communities thank you. >> thank you very much i'm- i think you could be great

the san francisco mission district and raised any 4 children and worked over thirty years serving low income community and spent my entire adult career being a service provider and in addition to my professional services i'm a family in a city that used many of the cities resources i was evicted 23 with small children and had to learn how to navigate systems before homeless my children went on to college i've worked on all 3 children's campaigns and even the first thing was controversial in san francisco i had three children in 6 during the first prop j commenting campaign i have now 3 grandchildren under that age i've come a long way working on

this campaign and having making sure that voices are heard from every community i'm a member of several neighborhood groups communicate with other groups to advocate for issues to collaborate as issues i've worked on the safety network initiative that was citywide i know the issues of almost every city neighborhood and worked or worked a dcwf currently work in the school district providing a variety of services one of the things i'd like to point out in my bid for this seat i guess is that as a parent and mother i'm mentor a lot of people a lot of people came through me through their jobs you have the packets i don't want to go into any experience if you have questions i'll be happy to answer them my biggest thing to bring voice and

showing how programs have a positive impact understand how much families and youth don't think those programs make sure their reliable that those programs are objective to make sure the taxpayers money is lierltd effective i stay as the city attorney's office program i see the spill over effect when to those programs have not been effective when the folks come through the juvenile system those young 18 to 24 years old land in the county jail i bring the living of the navigating the justice system that is underserved i've overseen 4 hundred felony cases from juvenile to young adults and

what is the best solution number two of county jail all the programs that will be able to rehabilitate and stabilize and not come back to the city i'm sure you're aware of the adult system there's no log cabin rather than only the department of corrections and some of the individuals have shared their experiences through the boys and girls club and ymca i mean most have shared throughout their juvenile history they were disconnected from programs in turn not work with the programs they may wish they had the opportunity to be served any expertise is in any levels the client that has benefited a person as a service provider and an individual that tries to build connections with the law enforcement i lead it threw the
