of the many thousands of people you continually talk about. i'm a homeless man living on the streets of san francisco and when i can i live in shelters mpt the thing i want to bring today is while you go 33 the budget discussions we face a crisis in san francisco called homelessness and the solution foothat is housing. affordable housing a thousand munt or better brut housing senior citizens like myself can move into. [inaudible] where do you find the money at? the first thing that you do in finding the housing for homeless people is stop criminalizing us. you have over 200 laws on the books specifically aimed at homeless people. i'm sorry because i'm homeless and forbsed to sleep in your doorway because i'm forced to sit on urpark binchs

arts from extension. i'm also [inaudible] aba is a collective of arts organization and individuals that began meeting very early this year to the [inaudible] in a time of urgency for the arts. the group has gained interest from 25 arts organizations of all size squz 500 residence. as a member of the arts budget coalition of aba we want to extend or deep precation and to each of you and the mayor for your support of approved increased funding aldpraigz the arts for the next 2 fiscal years. this comes at a time of urgency and need especially insmall and midside organizations. small and midsize arts organizations are unique because they serve communities and [inaudible] education and creative into the

place can use to exist homelessness. we have a entry for people to into the shelter but need a place for them to go on the other side and the funding for those 50 subssidies will allow that. [inaudible] nob secondly i would like to high light the request for 89 need spatspace rental subsidies for senior and disables san franciscans. the first 61 was issued april 1 and we #5ur8d have 47 senior and disabled san franciscan enrolled in that program including just now we have a 92 and 93 year old women who are paying 95 percent of their income towards rent and we will be able to relieve them of that. we have a latino

to get around and unable to get off the street and forced to sleep on the concrete rising rent. you have a amazing opportunity here. hes puhas a proposal that will house 600 people over 2 years and keep thousands in their home. housing subsudez [inaudible] taking together these are critical housing interventions that would trully keep san franciscan safe. the very ugly truth is that people are suffering needlessly. the beautiful truth is you have the revenue to turn this crisis round simply bedelaying the police academy by 6 months and addressing the race issues recent late identified as the department with the most racial bias in the state. you can
