5:39 pm
improves dna has a vested interest in law enforcement it is the blocks with less vigilant blocks that- the lounge runs a tight shift i see in the priority they give their neighbors above and beyond and putting their neighbors concerns at the top of list before patrons and the staff if someone were to ask me if dna has faults yes, but none of the managers it is clearly uninformed of the help in protecting the neighborhood dna can and will be i ex-could live on fulsome couldn't hope for a better neighborhood thank you very much. >> thank you. is there any additional public comment all right. i don't see any
5:40 pm

5:42 pm
dolled that i think i'll just leave my comments to the told me when we get to in terms of the discussion of review of your how your han what is and not a hearing i want to let you know we're pretty confident in the number of projects that we have to look at i know it's a lot a lot. >> in any case keep in mind in our asking how to move forward in terms of hearing. >> could you - is the la what you said around 2 hundred. >> a little bit less than that. >> close you yes, but up there so i've had a number of meetings regarding two upcoming one is september 5th and september 25th
5:43 pm
the september 25th is really the issue of my biggest concern that's the mc d.c. concert a number of meeting with the port with city attorney, with supervisor cowen's office as well as and the last meeting was at the port included the giant the applicants we're on track for the 21st of july hearing on those two permits we are working together as a city family i guess is the word in terms of how to message going forward to the public as we head towards the 1ru67b8 hearing and conditions how we're going to do our best if in a situation hard to manage. >> i have a question in our meeting especially with the port
5:44 pm
did you guys discuss some mitigation that the promoter i know the applicant is the giants but there's a promoter involved on another planet i don't know if we were there are they going to do mitigation on the sound. >> so again i i mean, that's what the hearing is for on the permit and conditions there's discussions we had about mitigation that is the place to have it obviously that's the basis of the communication but more than that our discussions were around who's authority and what layers are on top of layers you've described it a promoter the giants, the lrld the port and us as is mou on behalf of the port everyone to understand what has the authority to do
5:45 pm
what and what tools in the toolbox i come to you. >> if we put mitigating conditions on them - i mean and they don't comply and the rig is set up r up and the concert is going we have the authority to do what? nothing >> we have a concern amount of enforcement capacity but again in two weeks this is in front of you in more a detail than you'll ever want and okay. i look forward to that. >> excellent anticipate and ac/dc. >> great. >> a quick operational detail what time is the concert from and to. >> i don't have the application it is typically 8 to 11 or something it didn't go much
5:46 pm
later the duration. >> sure. >> it's at issue. >> that's where it might be earlier the sound like check on the permit that happens the day before for that concert but two permit applications in front of with detail from the commission requests the promoter be present i can ask that as well i don't know if i can require something like that but ask. >> i'm asking that and your asking and the promoter be present. >> okay. >> okay with a complete description of their sound like system and how they'll hang it they can talk about that. >> i'll do my best. >> this is a sound issue. >> absolutely. >> so the promoter needs to be present the giants are not ordering the sound system but the promoter. >> who's performing on the
5:47 pm
fifth. >> billy joel. >> non-nobody seems concerned about the piano. >> a loud c note boom; right? laura. >> i don't know okay. then he put own here an update on the transit work and asked ben how ton to come up and will be in the next few years so just to surmising summarize to make my life easier. >> good evening, commissioners just a quick update where we on the transportation we released our report in march offering up 15 recommends and we had disstilled those recommendations into 5 big picture next steps since then we've done additional thinking on how to scope out that work this year and ramping up soon to pick up those 5
5:48 pm
recommendations those 5 next steps we were fortunate to receive money into the budget for the next steps as a quick refresher we'll begin the project to begin the capitalization bringing all the stakeholders to the table with the planning expertise challenge grants to make locates specific improvements and again a couple of target areas to work with the neighbors develop and launch an indication to educate people will services also to develop some monitoring practices so we can have some systems in place to know how the late night and early morning transportation is working and to convene the working group we've not scheduled our working group but later this summer the second update the mayor's
5:49 pm
office in partnership with the organization fuse cooper as an executive photocopying to recruit folks to at least 10 years of management in addition to graduate school i'm pleased to report that a project that we submitted in partnership with sfmta improving overnight transportation for workers was selected there's are currently on a application online available for folks to apply and the person whoever is selected will start in october and start from october to october for a full year in implementing those late night transportation recommendations. >> yeah. >> really very exciting to have additional staff and hopefully someone r with expertise in regional planning and you know any sort of areas that is an asset and finally next wednesday this
5:50 pm
is a reminder to the executive director as well july 15th noontime we're going to be at spur talking about late night transportation and the next steps should be a interesting communication with is supervisor wiener. >> thank you. >> wasn't it easy wow. >> so all good news some work coming other thing i want to update the commission on since the last meeting the budget is finalized we did get the funding for this new position an outdoor special event person it didn't have a clarification yet not a title you know so that's real and i'm really happy
5:51 pm
about that i'm using on interim from the g s a for research and look for similar positions around the country so i can get assistance in terms of how to create a job description for something we don't do right now but i'll keep the commission informed if we do this right and with enough pressure we might be able to have someone like hopefully at the end of this year because it isn't even classified yet keeping in mind if you ever do run across someone that might understand this kind of work that might be interested keep a list so i can have a list of people to send it out to i don't have any corrective actions i'm going to turn it over to jordan.
5:52 pm
>> yeah. i'll start good evening, commissioners several items to report starting with 1015 fulsome we received a complaint if a signed complainant no incident but an ongoing issue surrounding the neighborhood and the neighbors getting tired what i preserve the venue is doing everything possible to indicting cut down on the nuisance with the particular residence which is located on the corner of columbia scare and fulsome street it is outside of hundred feet so the 1015 fulsome can't extend their security bars the answer to get a private security patrol or something like that i mentioned that to the neighbor and ask them to contact their landlord and maybe get the ball roping e rolling on that end
5:53 pm
i'll talk to the venue i can promise anything we'll see hopefully, they get a private control there's a lot of entertainment to cut down on the complaints and the issues moving on the cosmo bar lodge on broadway they had an event that ended up having a couple of fights the fight were dispercent before the police got there i talked with management they had a rapper from la and following they add no to have events like that i explained everything this is going on the particular management was not on broadway for the last place i explained everything on broadway that how if you have shows like that and end up with the problems the
5:54 pm
venue is not going to probably be open for long they agreed not to have any more of those types of events in the future a couple of compliance items i stopped by a bar to make sure the restaurants has a poster up for limited live performance permits and make sure they're posted city club remember last hearing i mentioned an issue that had with a noise complainant and basically talked about with the management and the complained and solved the problem we'll see i gave the complainant my phone number they can call me over the weekend when i'm out doing inspections pie did a sound check for the loophole will that and everything went fine with that, i mean no real neighbors
5:55 pm
displaced they're having live performance downstairs and it is ambient communistic e music and wrote a citation to the scare bar and kitchen not supposed to have action committee for women in prison if i had music they have amplified rag band i wrote them a citation and talked about with the management and basically told them i'm going to write you a citation i don't have to have you come in front of felt commission because they make those permit conditions i think we have an agreement he'll talk with his neighbor and get a hotel some kind of work to think about doing something like that but nevertheless i told him to basically, not do that if i have
5:56 pm
to write him a citation that's about it. >> when you say 1015 a nuisance. >> the neighbors say claiming or the patrons walking down the street using the building as a urinal and that sort of nuisance. >> that's quite often kind of thing. >> she says basically often but it is down the street is it so the buildings next door but hundred and 50 feet away and then they have issues down the alley up that that harriet. >> harriet. >> they send a lot of security guards that way and i mean it is a challenge for them. >> one other question city club is upstairs did the venue is it an
5:57 pm
office building. >> i'm not sure about the vera sit but it is a lot of noise from the private events i'm not sure i have not preserved the issue that's why i communicated with the complainant that's what i community to the complainant i haven't heard it if you have issues call me. >> i'm curious about the source. >> right of right i have no client they said they don't know why they're getting complaints and the complainants said it was noise doesn't specific source. >> the city club is on the tenth floor of the building it is mostly office spaces is there any residential in that area. >> there must be.
5:58 pm
>> a complaint from another office is it coming from a resident. >> from a resident all i know whatever but it is coming from a resident. >> any club is primarily a restaurant pretty much and they do do parties but i mean, i think this is so weird. >> right that's why ultimately i told the complaint if you have issues call me while their happening to you, see you know sometimes the complainants are solid and they really have teeth and sometimes you know go to a call and you know maybe the complaint is about something else. >> one last question as far as two last questions well 1015 they're good at expanding their thing beyond hundred feet can
5:59 pm
you ask the security guards to walk around further. >> i talked with the security they said the neighbors but it seems like nothing they can do solves the problems for the neighbors i've been by there in the last two months friday and saturday nights or whatever. >> so last question in your opinion is cosmo is a problem. >> i don't think they'll become a problem. >> okay. >> you but we'll see they're owners he's been around so i don't think they'll be an issue. >> great thank you. >> all right. good evening, commissioners couple of compliems over the last few weeks from the owner on 24th street and latino american
6:00 pm
club both places the complainants were patrons outside the bar and paid visits to those bars and the owners over the phone to make sure they're aware of what's going on do expect it to be a continuing issue only one night that got a little bit busy please physique a typo it should say the change of ownership i went by both days and was unable to hear anything beyond the 2 hundred and 50 feet per city code and under the citations headings you'll recognize a few of the names i wrote citations to the west bay one malibu and
