lee welcome thank you so many. >> thank you principal thank you to karina and david wonderful student leaders aren't they your leaders it's my pleasure to join the school board superintendent carranza our supervisor here today to thank all of you for not only being the great students but one of the best schools in san francisco presidio yeah (clapping.) well as your mayor one of the things i got to do was sit down a few years ago and a talk to my francisco benny hoff in the business community and we talked about what we all were truly motivated by your passions were for being what we're doing and who we are and where we came

from any expressed to mark one evening i said to do something for education i was luke to have a great education my parents if have a lot of money i got luke with a lot of friends and want went to great institutions and on a personal level make sure that i did any part in helping our publics be the best they can be so i focused on all the public education institutions in san francisco and said that if peer a world-class city with world-class companies like salesforce we should also have a world-class public education for everybody to enjoy and be a part of and so we looked at the status we said we were that challenged in our middle schools and that we wanted to make sure that our middle schools were the best they could be we focused on not only helping them become

better but making sure the principals and teachers also felt this the city will support them we want to request i asked if the salesforce foundation to marks leadership so keep up e help us they did and not only has the benny hoffs been a great leadership many their corporate giving but helpful with the homeless families and certainly our health care in the ucsf benny hoff hospital today, we're continuing in our third year of an unprecedented investment in our publics and focused continuing to focus on the middle grades not only is our middle grades the focus but down well in providing a stem

foundation science and technology and math foundation in the third year with the help of the school board school district and supreme court superintendent carranza the entire education particularly reaching into the high schools as you are preparing yourselves for high schools to make sure our resources combine with the salesforce foundations enlists but also the incredible amount you see all those people with those nice research their incredible workforce and salesforce thank you for being there (clapping.) because not only are the resources provided to the principals and teachers but the volunteerism that is expressed through the salesforce foundation and companies own model of 111 and given back to the communities and school boards.

>> and all the wonderful thing that happen but the volunteerism to the expressed in every school they've infected in a positive way the entire technology companies that ron conway and others at sf city have come in on circling the schools to make sure our publics get the benefits of the technology so over 2 thousand 5 hundred technology companies have stepped forward and the salesforce to circle all our schools and make sure the volunteerism, resources and support for the become part of the model as well but it began somewhere in the conversation both retail space and mark began with my commitment to make sure the city has the best publics and, yes the articles are right it was no

strings except for one that string was to be the best you can be the string everybody appreciates and all the kids had our parents want you to be the best and do everything to support our education we wanted to do the same thing with all our publics and with our school board no strings except for one be the best you can be and hold each other account and principals and teachers and parents with the kids we find that string and the other stripping i have for myself i have a string to make sure we're the best city we can be and making sure all the companies act like salesforce has been and it's foundation to make sure they unveil their support for education but also all the other things they've

been doing as well to simplify the good leadership in the business community and working with the government and working with the school district and school board to be the best and the return is going to be incredible because i can already see in this third year commitment that the students are excited to be here with the principal with the support and the support of our volunteers it takes place in this education but i wanted you all to know there is the greatest jobs in the world waiting as. >> graduate or when your no high school you've started the cadet program for at&t's an engineer or teacher or a lab technician or work in the greatest hospitals as a doctor or the green light technology companies that are here or a great part of the tourism you

can manage the best hotels and the best restaurants or be a mayor absolutely or be a supervisor or be one of anything you want it is wide open for you you've got a great foundation in education and really, truly invest in yourselves to have the best this is what has already been our passion i want to personally thank mark and benny hoff because it takes leadership to actually produce all those resources and support we've consistently engaged with our dreams for the wonderful city in making sure we are properly invested in our youth that's why we take the time to see a movie martin luther king day have a chat about the vision they have but also engage the parents we engage with our

communities we engage with our educations professionals i want to say thank you to presidio middle school all the volunteers and students it will be a great school and thank you to mark because salesforce i understand is part of the circle of schools program has specifically adapted the presidio middle school kind of like having a great uncle how they adopted you how do you like that? and mayor how about the presidio panthers this is awesome so you thank everyone i wanted to thank and i also wanted to especially thank our board of education your for your guidance with leaders like mayor ed lee and mr. and mrs. benny hoff thiscy is changing the face of public education and the changing education for the entire nation and i'll tell you why if you loan to wro what the mayor and benny hoff said their investing in the schools with the only return being a great education for our citizens and students in san francisco so when they say no strings attached monopoly attached it's innovate like we're going to give us a donation what i appreciate it about what it will

take to make sure our students in san francisco have the best richest most awesome education possible and that's what you're investment helps us to do you you know the board of education a year ago adopted a visionary vision so for our city and school system called vision 2025 by the year vision 2025 we've identified what we want in a profile for all the graduates in our students in every single one of our schools and mr. benny hoff and mr. conway anyone you'll want to hire our students bans the profile in how they'll lead our schools creative thinkers and no matter and converse in computer cody's and be able to be team players i can't think of anyone that wouldn't want to hire our students your investment helps

dpaejd all indicators said this is where we should look at so mr. benny hoff and mayor as we speak the middle school and middle grades are busting at the seams we're at hundred percent enrollment and waiting list for the middle schools the word is out the mask it happening in the middle grades in san francisco. >> (clapping.) the word is out (clapping.) when mr. benny hoff asked have you seen ipads the students said no, i'm happy the investment is not about didn't see not only in devices but investing in our wonderful teachers so when we have an opportunity to take you into the classrooms you'll see teachers teaching in a different way and students learning in a very different way that is possible by the investment not only in technology but in the

you what folks don't understand circle the school is up a notch so our organizations and businesses and tech companies are circling schools and having the same conversation with mr. benny hoff what does it take for our school to take to the next level our tech is having that conversation i'm happy to report every single middle school and k-8 and every high school is continental go our elementary school are fully circled that deserves a round of applause (clapping.) thank you for doing that this is the promise we've make to our students if you study hard, if i become engaged and really understand what you're trying to learn and learning for there are jobs in san francisco not only

in the tech community but in the educational community we want you to graduate from san francisco's public and live and work in san francisco to be the most that diverse workforce and the most initiative workforce that's at message we want all of you presidio panthers you have a in san francisco thank you to the salesforce and the mayor for the incredible so for the for the schools and thank you for saying what we have said from the given you can't have a world-class city without a world-class public education system if you look at the numbers in the middle school and elementary schools and high schools the word so out people are coming to publics again and again because of the investment and the support of the community we want to thank you for your 10
