guide march happening an friday and saturday and the pride marches in all the seeshthsdz of san francisco particularly the castro area arrest the efforts before, during, and after the largest pride parade in the country we're very products of everyone coming together working on all the delays of these events but also work in collaboration to increase the amount of communications with all the agencies and remind because of the orlando massacre we want to have a safe r safe event events for everyone in the city and so the emphasis this morning in getting reports from all the different agencies that are working together was to emphasis our collaboration and communication with each other that appears we'll have even more people that will come to

our pride celebration lout the weekend this is a good, good thing we also will have additional people from all the local agencies work together more eyes and ears on the streets and in the communities so we can talk with each other and make sure that people are safe so we went over this mornings i went over the strategies of communication and have reports in and, of course, the heightened alert and attention is a result of time fact we don't wish this to be safe for everyone begins with good communication thank you to all the organizations coming together though morning and thought the week working on this for weeks an end and working every single day leading up to the difference fence that really start the middle of the week and end this week with that, i want to introduce someone, of course,

build a community and be satisfy who we be no matter what the circumstances at home or work and have someone come into one of these safe spaces and engage in this carriage is incomprehensible a walk up equal as we as an lobster community is experiencing self-esteem violations towards our community as we move into the pride weekend it is attempting to currently up into a ball and rae treat when this kind of strategy happens we have to do the opposite have the most celeby and joy oozed pride that's how we will win and how we'll send a message nothing is going to get us down and attack us beat us

and bully and us and we'll come back and be stronger than before in the spirits of having the best pride ever we have been washlgdz i wanted to thank the mayor and the police department and the department of emergency management and all the departments for their work we have been working for quite some time to have a safe pride we've been working with the pride committee to make sure the festival and the prides itself is safe for months my office has been meeting to plan for the saturday night before in the castro for friday and saturday we've burn working with the police and as well as the transmarch and pride to make sure we have a safe saturday night in the castro and the mayor mentioned last week wednesday he convened a meeting

in city hall with the police department and the ordinances of your lgbt bars and night clubs throughout the city to make sure the venues freaked out right now given what happened in ordinary go a have all the support they need to keep our venues safe people could go out and enjoy themselves i feel good going into this is weekend thank you to everyone in the community from the city staff and mayor for working together to make it happen i want to bring up someone i as you can imagine what he had to deal with in his job over the last walk through that is the director of our pride committee george has done a tremendous job calming the waters of pride and boy does i have his work cut out for him so

>> good morning. i'm deputy chief in the san francisco police department i'd like to reassure the police department has been planning for pride week and the pride events over the last probable 6 months working with all the city and state and federal partners i believe we have a good plan it insure a safe and enjoyable weekend one of the biggest things we see since ornld we've increased preservation around the treatment venues within the castro and throughout san francisco we say a plan in place also to support all the parties going on throughout the city in the next week and obviously through the weekend that is very busy for us one of the things as you can see a high visible presence of police officers the officers will be engaged in aware of the surrounding with the large
