the san francisco police department i want to briefly circle back this is a critical takeaway the executive director talked about the zero tolerance for breach as pointed out i think from the other components that need to get out to the security industry it they have to have a contingency plan with preparation to participate what historically we have not seen in clubs that specific event was well organized and involved any individuals and they came to distract the security and did it successfully that substantial allowed the reach and the subsequence incident that followed i think we need to look at security for intellectually i do want to say the group tends

stepped i applaud deputy director jocelyn kane we moved swiveling everything we we are getting will prevent in the future a breach audible noise to alert security the takeaway securities needs to be smarter and not easily distracted if they are and pulled from their post it is as simple as security pulled from in their post a bartender or any other staff manager needs to slide into that slot and it should happen smoothly and quickly and then lastly i know executive director speaking about active shooters i want to brought to your attention this is an area the department is in very good shape twice we've conducted active

shooter training as you recall we took over the schlage lot and did a school simulation i was telling me the executive director earlier today we used what is semi ammunition shooting live rounds the bullets are supposed is to be non-lethal and they are but they can pierce your skin i got cut it brings a real sense it is not a mock somewhere quickly with the theme of today is which is very different than in the past is in a situation like this what we're training our officers to do so long as on scene someone takes charge and they make just i

entry and the next time in passports times i should say what there was a lot of strategy well in the meanwhile a lot of can age on the inside now stop the threat we're doing the training in a way the officers don't know to know each but we're all taught to do it the same way it is intuitive and pretty effectual but you know the obvious realty excuse me - the obvious realty it puts our officers in an immediate threat we're training our officers unlike others staff we're con fronting the threat with the goal of stopping it nfl in the past it is deny at the extension of active members of the departments such as ours anyway wanted to give you that

update and the incident we are speaking it was a good wake up call but shows the city's commitment to zero tolerance o tolerance we met with them immediately and steps up to the plateed and studied the business for 4 working weeks a significant hit arguably close to a total annual income and the executive director said we're sensitive to employees they're impacted but on the other hand, it needed to be a serious wake up and i'll wrap up i met with the owners a little awhile go ago and did a walk through they've doing everything we've asked from them and a bit of a bonus for people to like to enjoy the place we're getting a remodel because trufl the place

never shut they didn't have time to get a good cleaning and updating and all that have. >> didn't go into the bathrooms but the space looks at good. >> i have a question so you have an active shooter situation and the police finally get notified it take time for the police to come and do their thing what is - there some protocol that is directed to the management and the employees of the night club maybe the patrons but modern than hit a panic button. >> similar i mean, the vice president of i've had

communications offline and basic things the ability to safely and quickly raise up the lighting you'll be surprised in some of clubs i've been in over the years and ultimately the place is sutd shut down are we waited while the place closes turn up the light a 2, 3, 4 thousand square feet and one hundred light bulb we need to come up similarly to what we did with your good neighbor policy and your security plan models was we have to starts looking at now okay you know what is your critical plan and what are basic features that you'll have mechanical like lighting and you suggested in the past every disc jockey a dated term.

job in the world almost all the time and that is, i get to run work for the mayor and run san francisco's rec and park i get the joy of welcoming people to renovated awesome park if we can see a show of hands of how many people wish like to speak. how many on the zip line pretty cool who wants to go on it with me and the mayor (laughter) all right. so we have all kinds of fun activists in addition to placing on the playground and trying out the new equipment with our rock climbing wall how many people have climbed a rock wall your veterans of play and baseball the warriors came out last year and refaced the basketball court who loves of

warriors andouch football and all kinds of things for kid to do and may we're talk a little bit and introduce a very, very special people so today, the reason we gather is because we're celebrating parks do important role that parks play in our neighborhood; right? everybody loves parks it is where we play where we get away from sort of the noise and the traffic and all the crowds and we get to come out and play and we are so lucky in san francisco because we have absolutely one the best parks system in the country our entire city 99 percent of us live within just a 10 minute walk of a park you how many people live within 10 minutes of a park we are lucky the best access to

parks than any city in the country and so here particularly in the bayview we're working super hard to give the neighborhood the best parks in addition to this park we're working on a hilltop park in the india baseline and because of the mayors leadership we're investing $10 million in parks right here in our neighborhood let's give the mayor a big hand for that >> (clapping.) >> so we want to make sure that our parks are for everyone that everybody gets to play whether you're a over and over slightly turn around or really young or less young our parks are for everyone if you look at around this state in addition to the play equipment for kids of

all ages if it you look at over there you'll see fitness equipment for multi dulls and seniors, in fact, one of the things that are purpose important that you are seniors our parents and grandparents and united and uncle are enjoying the park, in fact, a recent study your seniors are not spending will enough time in parks and get getting enough experience we young kids like to run around and play a lot we want to make sure our parents and grandparents and unit and uncle are getting experience we've done that the best outdoor equipment anywhere in the cry like famous stuff the best stuff the best excitement around the world we want all of our groups

park rangers and rec and park the public works is here they helped manage and build this whole park so it is going to last a long time you know what is really helpful to know when i grew up i did not have a park within 10 minutes in san francisco 98 percent of everybody who lives here has a park within 10 minutes i assure you in this i had a park within 10 minutes i'd be taller playing for the warriors do you believe that yeah. thank you thank you because when kids have parks within 10 minutes of where they grew up you'll grew up healthier and happier and more friends and people to play would apply it is important; right? and friends
