department and health department our immigrant rights groups all the public safety original groups our airport was engaged thank you, again, for leading a great airport in san francisco because this was the ground swell of the initial place we registered our opposition to this the travel band this sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us; today reaffirms our sanctuary city and despite what is happening naturally we'll continue the fight against discrepancy and anti immigrant sentiments we are san francisco bay area it is home to 2.2 million immigrants 200 and 50 thousand are muslim and of inconsistencies those estimated 60 percent were foreign born and raised or boo born san francisco

down the social fabric of our city and country you know those are trying times in the city and county of san francisco is taking a step forward safeguarding the rest freedoms this country promises for all the residents where we don't just promise but make that work and we'll rise above this adverse and practice tolerance and raise fist that independence our city and beyond today we'll continue to push for comprehensive immigration reform plans that insure the fair treatment of everyone inside as well as audit the united states a reform that protects our children and loved ones regardless of immigration status let us continue to make san francisco great and show everyone that this is a place

>> (clapping.) >> i want to give a be personal story on january 24th i introduced this legislation loaned with the mayor and it was really in our own protest and our own legislation way to reject any third degree thing in the freshen to force our home san francisco to force us to participate in the creation of a registry or some sort of database for people based on in their religion or ethnics you watched the news and became filled with anger after that subsided this is what precipitated and led us to where we are today it is a privilege to serve the city and county of san francisco and thank you to everyone to the commissioners to the department heads to everyday people that united with us i want to say thank you from the
