honor the city people are proud to associate themselves with the center you have to know all 41 of you know in your hearts you want your name on that i do i know you'll find a place i'm not sure it chasing wants me to says you'll put our girlfriends and boyfriend's name make sure you say ed lee too (laughter) it is as todd mentioned a coming together of so many groups in support of warriors and the chase center and this arena and after all built a large deeper following amongst the community in the city those early were about make sure that we're proudly doing something we've always wanted to do in the city

you have big gigantic things going up in the city the buildings going up we often kind of is maybe, maybe recruiting money from thousands of miles away may be one hundred yard away and doing it this is why citibuild is important reaching into the communities and working with all the community-based organizations they've be working with the school board and the city college to create the programs with our unions with the apprenticeship programs from our unions i want to especially thank everyone from the laboring union and 4r07d and 37, the cement workers at the three hundred and i'm 230g9 one anymore will kill me, yes the iron workers 377 can't do

nothing without them their 4 and the mini committees and programs dedicated to citibuild to work and provide the training without this stewart training you'll not have the skill sets to contribute thank you to them and then j.p. morgan chase and the warriors saying we want to do this with the contractor and they're in substances in a way that builds this community this is how we should role in san francisco with our community and trainees with the labor unions and contractor and the innovation work that the warriors is creating in this city this is i think how we should do all the major contracts our buildings that's why we want to demonstrate at the chase training center today how we're getting people tote without the port you'll not see your name i

know a few yorgz years from now, when your first concert our first conference at the chase center and say to our friends and families this is i'm really proud of that that's how i feel and with the warriors they're obviously building a reputation all across the country and the world project manager at the end of year i'm going to china so it we can really build a sense of what this teamwork and our skill sets and what is the spirit of cities washington high school but begins with dedicated professionals running our citibuild, our training programs and community programs working with the city and warriors and working with financial organizations like j.p. morgan

chase that helps to fund those and working with the contractor that see the way to the unions how we lift people up and communities up and for me that's what the warriors have done they list up people not just a great basketball team the way they do images this is so lift people up in the community that's how teamwork wins this is owl uniform the skill sets we're learning i want to explain this because people come to me and say i want a job i want a job the appreciation is deeper when you understand how everybody contributed to help how people say i want people from hundred yards away to build the best around in the world that will be the most invite arena we're talking about a design and commitment that people legal

you know the reason that everyone said the reason we're here and this moment is so approximately because of individual lives that program touches and i want to invite up next jovan to share her thoughts on the program. >> (clapping.) >> my name is jovan grew up in richmond, california and moved to san francisco in 1997 with my first daughter and by then i had a conviction for selling drugs in the tenderloin with children yes, i've done things in any past in order to survive i got to where i'm a the with determination and self-motivation and a whole lost stepping out of my comfort zone the free hit a home run in

berkley led me to this gentleman and asked if i was a san francisco resident and interested in helping to build the new stadium and have nothing that will hinder me from working only saturdays and sunday here we are a woman of monitored helping to build the bay a say you i want to say thank you to j.p. morgan chase the warriors arena, llc and the office of economic workforce development and the mayor for putting this training together to make a change in my life and many other lives also standing on the staple with me today thank you guys. >> (clapping.) >> next up i want to invite jesse martinez.

>> (clapping.) >> how is everybody doing today good good i did not come prepared i have a short notice so laura great story by the way, i'd like to say what when i first started off doing in program my father passed away the night before i was supposed to come here and so there was a lot of things going through my head whether or not i was going to come here i know i came here to do right by my father growing up in the bay area time in and out a lot of minority like myself we don't get great opportunity like this the fact that olsen and clark and the warriors arena and

citibuild the mayor, rasp and department staff johnson given us this opportunity more than auditorium they'll give us trades and skills we'll be able to build careers that's man, i i mean, i'm very thankful not only me but on behalf of the 41 people we show up ever be weekend and get out there you know everyone here is uptick really determined and we really want this really want this thank you. >> (clapping.) >> so we're going to close in a moment i want to just quickly highlight the fact there are more than $14 billion construction going on in san francisco right now and a lot of that is because of mayor's

leadership and the leadership in the economy and moving with the people in the room today, we created oewd the office of economic workforce development citibuild program to train and connect resident to the incredible job opportunities that are happening in construction in 2006, we trained more than $1,000 individuals for those jobs and placed individuals in more 15 hundred jobs in a arrange of trades from cement and partners we're proud of that and bare larry has been a leader to make sure we connect the residents to those opportunity this is a unique partnership if you heard the speakers say and unique project sponsor that takes citibuild to the next level public and private on the cutting-edge of where this is going i want to take a moment to thank a number of people in the room

school district we counted about 18 hundred kids that are part of families challenged with living here the expense and the lack of housing we're doing everything we can he to build affordable housing we have to be working with the groups helping people stay where they are and have stable lives and places to be this is all for our kids their education so we're working with the school district we're working with hampton services and the giants and airbnb who put all it together and you know what, you'll have more runs coming in san francisco another the at&t park we're noungsz a new program i love it larry it is the giants score more and more runs and every run they score we'll have money for more families to make sure they survive and do better

here in san francisco this is called the heading home campaign and remarkable that is remarkable how the giants and and/or before got together with family hampton tom ton and came up with a solution may not be the total solution but part of a $30 million program that we're launching with san francisco to end homelessness homeless families right here in san francisco this is a wonderful day of opening day with all of our partners doing the right thing to make sure our city is more successful to every run that is scored at the another person will be another thousand dollars up to $3,300,000 i think we'll get more people you do 4 hundred runs we'll get more people to cover to we have partners that wanted more runs for the giant do not we counted

last year, we have about three hundred and 41 home runs like pension fund and probation officer i didn't and panic and every madison square garden got a few home runs it will be hundreds of thousands of dollars for hamilton to make sure we have more homes for the homeless families we have a big heart i know the biggest heart is with our giants with our home run kings and hampton and uber working together to make the city even greater i'm here not just on opening day but to introduce someone i admired got a chances to work with him we enjoy the home runs after the giants scored i'm ready to make sure that the giants win that whole game and, of course, our

president of our giants larry. >> thank you, thank you very much and thank you, mayor ed lee thank you for your leadership ♪ program from what i heard from the mayor sounds like we have in the city a executive order your in favor the executive order to the giant for 10 runs a game every home game how about that >> as the mayor said we're really proud really the collaboration with the public and private sector collaboration with wonderful work of the department of homelessness and jeff a tremendous leader to embattle homelessness with the hamilton family and nonprofit which is a fanatic status quo leader in homelessness addressing homelessness with unusual our corporate partner and the giants put tote this

program and as the mayor said $1,000 for every run scored will be depended on to the cause and we think equally powerful a year long program we'll be making announcements upon the run being scored the giants run scored that the fans can text in the ball park can text to a number and can dependent a dollar hundreds dollars or thousand dollars to the cause over the years will be meaningful i grew up in san francisco and went to the public schools and what i leaders about the issue this is in a solvable issue of first names homelessness one child on average in every classroom/15 is

homeless at the end of the school goes to a place other than a home to sleep at night that is something we have to solve and fix we have a wonderful as the mayor said a $30 million goal a wonderful fee funding $10 million that we're well on the way and with our help and support we will get there and end family homelessness in this city over the next several months and years i want to introduce our partner as i wanted has been unbelievable in their leadership and hamilton family jeff who is the mayor's office came from the leading nonprofit in the country dealing with homelessness i want to welcome him in the hamilton family. >> thanks everyone i'm really

honored to be here representing that hamilton families i want to thank the mayor of san francisco the san francisco giants and uber a few years ago we embarked on a campaign that is now called the heading home with the vision of ending family homelessness in san francisco it was a very bold decision by jeff the director at hamilton and calling out to the city to unit with them and raise $30 million and bring us back to a rent-controlled place we can say that every child has a place to call home at night it is our tag line is san francisco strong it is wonderful to see that have he very strong community we're uniting with the unified school district and salesforce and twitter many individuals and now

the fans of giant are going to have a chance to join in the community and partnership along with the giant and uber to make many a reality we have a way to go to get to the $30 million and all of the community and gientsdz are make that happen thank you very much. >> (clapping.) >> oh, and more importantly our last speaker how can i forgot go todd a former parent in the hamilton program with his daughter will share his experience with us. >> (clapping.) >> thank you you know how they say save the best for last i'll projecting not do that anyway, thank you to the mayor for ending homelessness during the recession i lost my job senile all my investment because of length of the recession was not able to main the stabltd of home

life for my daughter i i haven't had became homeless and ended up in hamilton and was assigned case management they got me directed to the mayor's office of housing where i was able to secure a below-market rate unit and salesforce granted me a subsidy which was important allowed me to not have my daughter suffer not be able to do the things and get the things she needed they were able to deliver the services with a human touch everything from school backpacks and presents and all that i really am grateful today, i'm in the same apartment have a permanent job and things are looking up my daughter will be in high school invocation and it is my dream to live in san
