>> i want to thank everybody for being here today. madam mayor. so i am captain joe angler. on behalf of the northern police station, i want to kick this thing off today. a whole lot of work has gone into making this happen. this is the second annual christmas tree toy giveaway here in the fillmore, at the fillmore many a lot. this is a fantastic event and i want to acknowledge a few people

that made this happen. first and foremost, our mayor, mayor london breed. thank you very much. [cheers and applause] i also want to acknowledge any other elected officials who swing by here during the day. the mayor's office of economic and workforce development, the leadership of the san francisco police department, especially. brown. brown? i want to think big rich and danielle of project level. [cheers and applause] i want to thank steve's the. i want to thank the green door for stepping up and contributing today. thank you. [applause] philip randolph institute, everything for that you'd -- everything that you do.

the san francisco housing authority, the s.f. rebels in the san francisco boys and girls club. thank you very much. thank you for volunteering your time and putting on the music. mary connie of another planet productions. mary is right up here. i cannot say enough about mary. support all your concerts here locally like civic centre, outside lands. planet productions has been collecting gifts for the last two months for today's event. that is awesome. the northern northern station community police advisory board, the street violence intervention program for keeping us all safe and looking out for everybody, i see united players in the audience as well. [cheers and applause] i want to thank the guardsmen who not only run this lot, they give us their trees when they shut it down.

they help kids with scholarships both with summer camp and with schools. they are houston reason -- huge reason we are here today. [applause] i want to thank, you know, baron davis, the former gordon -- golden state warrior and the black santa company that is here today. fantastic support for the community. so with that, before we get this thing rolling, are you here? pastor, if we could get solemn for a second, minister carter would like to pray over us for a second. >> if you would, everybody touch somebody as a sign of unity and togetherness. father, god, we thank you today for your love, your kindness,

>> with that, everybody, i would like to introduce the mayor of the city and county of san francisco, mayor london breed. [cheers and applause] >> thank you. it's always good to come home and yes, fillmore is my home. that is right. this community raised me and it's so amazing to be here today it is especially amazing to be here with justin, a.k.a. ski z-letter. justin grew up here, born and raised and he wanted to do something to give back to the community. and working with captain angler and so many folks that are here today, this event has created an opportunity for us to come together and show love, support, and appreciation and respect for one another. this is what the fillmore has been about for decades and this

is what we are choosing to do on a regular basis to bring our community together, to stop the violence, to make sure that we are supporting and loving and praying for each other because that is how we stay together as a community. we see all these young kids now. we have to make sure that the challenges we dealt with around the situations around violence and other things, we have to make sure that they don't deal with the same thing. that is our job now. more than ever and, you have the person who came from fillmore running the city. [cheers and applause] it is time for all of us to take advantage of this opportunity. don't thank you can't do anything. we all have the power to do so much. look at what he has done. he has the power to work with all of these people and just

because he was thinking about doing something great, he made magic happen for all of you today. every single day we can make magic happen for this community. every single day we make magic happen for the future generations of this community. it will take all of us to come together to lift one another up and i am not a preacher, you all know that, but i believe in a higher power because let me tell you something, it is not an accident that i am mayor of san francisco coming out of this community. i know where my blessings come from and i know my responsibility to do more to serve this community, but i also need your help. i need your support, i just got reelected, i will be here for another four years. [cheers and applause] but you know what? we will celebrate today, but tomorrow we will roll up our sleeves and get to work because we still have so much work to do

in this community and in this city to make sure that we are still here because we ain't going nowhere. [cheers and applause] today, thank you so much for the relationship building between the san francisco police department and this community because you all know when we were younger, it was not like that. look at what we are doing here today by coming together. the folks at northern police station, rudy and united players , so many people from fillmore, so many kids in so many families. people who grew up here and may not live here anymore, but this is still there home. yes. i see you and i understand our responsibilities and what we will do. we will change this community for the better one person at a time. i feel so blessed to be here today to enjoy, and the weather is nice. it's a little cold like it is in san francisco, but the weather is nice. we will make magic happen every single day.

but you know what? we will have to work hard for every single day too. today, i want you to take your trees and enjoy your holidays and have a good time. thank you to all the folks from project level, big rich and danielle. [cheers and applause] thank you for the work you do in the community. we have steve from the school board here as well. so many folks from the community this is really a blessing. have a wonderful, wonderful holiday season, everybody. thank you so much. anyone in this crowd ever wants to have an event in this park, just come see me. we will make things happen. we love this park. my last introduction is going to be derrick brown. he grew up in this neighborhood, as you know. he is with the san francisco police community engagement unit he will get very -- give very important instructions about right now with the gifts, right now about the trees, and at the event that will happen just in a little bit over at 1330 fillmore after this event. der brown, everybody.
