12:11 pm
feels often in conversation with the community their hours were determined for park and posted that was it but as it turns out advised the city we- that the signs were not enough and needed to codify the park hours and pretty passionate debate and board of supervisors and the commissioners were here when it went through the rec & park and we were the only job city in the country with no codified hours. we tried to do with a couple of things which was grandfather or grand person and parents many existing where the community has something that was different than the basic park hours that
12:12 pm
our parks are closed between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. and we waved that in and then in the time since i think four or five times we have come to this commission often in partnerships with the supervisors or responses to modify the existing park hours. and so while the- one to 5 hours are 0 the base hours over 65 parks have various changes to that this is not exceptional but sad and we have someone to say more about that dba not giving us joy but the first immediate step with staff

taking a look at things we could possible do one other situations where you're in for a penny or pound a lot of work to be done and so, you know, a very small mini park and important to the community i will see that my observations are consistent with the public comment i heard about the playground. >> so i think the first step we want to work on figure out is a way for more community gardens assets for the community gardens and at some point and we need to figure out funding sources to a engage the community in a conversation about the space. and then figure out how to fund it a long term endeavor i don't want to have the illumination
12:14 pm
we'll fix it tomorrow but try to do something that we can do outcome short of a full scale multi million dollar renovation but the law enforcement component how involved and aware any plans going forward to show definitely include them and the presence of alioto mini park and certainly that neighborhood will be beneficial to. >> partnerships with the station we want our spaces to, you know, to feel safe. >> and that term is defined in a variety of ways so we work closely with the station our park rangers are great and the challenges that the entire city hesitate with respect to the

point that out some of, you know, the behaviors of the things that are not appropriate uses of park is an indication of the community need and that you, you know, there are members of the community unhoused community members um, members that are struggling with substance abuse and they're members of our community not just um, criminalizing them but for the what i think the long term solution but that is my hope and kind of working with these that serve better, more experts how to deal with those level of issues and behaviors and coming to the park a way for outreach how can the park be a place where we can support everyone all members of the community. um, so i really want that on
