6th. i have one quick update below. please let me know if you have any questions. my only update tonht÷s at 1754 polk sto holds an llp with our office on friday, august 9th. i amelie at 11:20 p.m. in response to a soundpl arrival, he observed a dj playing inside and a sound measurement sho 93 3 dbc, while the current approved sound limit is 87 dba 94 dbc. inspector young rice spoke with the manager on duty a advised him to have the dj end their set and switch to prerecorded music, which he did. he also reminded him of their llp permit conditions and reited must end 1 p.m. inspectorou re then sound t

of the prerecorded music, which showed compliance with the approved sound limit. amelie was issued a $100 citation for violating their llp permit by hosting entertainment after 11 p.m, with the door open and exceeding their allowable sound limit. that's the only update i have tonight. thank you. questions■d i know that outside lands is not uer on the parks, t was there how did how was sound related to outside lands this year? do we have any sense? we received many outside lands complaints. yes i think between outside lands and then the following event at goldene , the deftones system of a down show we received, i'd say about 200. yeah roughly 200, ri t to us. so i don't know if others went.r hotline. they have a hotline?

month. so we'll have a lot more clarity on the pending nightlife bis ve the three bills longest time, two of which arehe sponsored by e ty, 969 and eight, ab 2359, those two bills andl assembly member haney's cannabis cafe legislation are all continuing to move■= forward, and, with, se good positive, positive momentum on those, the drink spiking legislation, the, the, the set of■9 drink spiking related bills that have been moving of these t time■ we talked, but but all three of them are continuing to move forward. and i have it on lide here. but requiring bars to provide drink lids for at leastn of glasses upon request. and also to post, signage relatedo that, establishing reporting 48s

that when a bar notified of a suspected drink spiking and■u they're obligatedo contact law enforcement and then follow related instructions lawd then finally incorporating drink spiking education into the responsible beverage service trai of alcohol servers. so several bills in the drink spiking field continuing to move forward as well. some good uplly on entertainment zones. i don't think i've done a presti group since. since may. since then, our local legislation implement entertainment zones and designate the front street entertainmzone was signed in july, we are currently working with a management plan to guide operation of the the implg legislation designated the

office of economic andlopment ta management plan as an additionat closure, liquor licensing, other permits., ande in dialog with sfpd and mta and other■- stakeholders around the best way to coordinate and align that management plan with all t [v permits and requirements. and hopefully, this process that we are undertaking now■ will alo set a template for management plans for future of work to gett one off theunom city process perspective. but i think we're we're learning a lot about how to do it more nimbly in the future, because there's certainly interest in we launched anzones elsewhere, entertainment zones web page for stakeholders citywide that are interested ileni■xore at r÷. a few updates on the local legislative front. the mayor's legislation to waive fees associated with outdoor

communit street closures was adopted and following the adoption of that legislation, sfmta boa ac month adopted a companionion or motion on theirarto wve sfmta fees, so really excited about this, this, this program for outdoor community events under the legislationis leading implementation. and once a waiver is available this program, an event will have to seek a waiver before submitting an escape permit.o i know we've had a couple of questions from people saying, when is the waiver sure there's going to be more information about that soon, but, andto seee forward. additionally, the legislationeate an annual permit for food vendors that participate in special events was adopted really positive development for ou operators, who often participate in dozens of

even eve yhean get an annual permit instead of having to pay for a event that y participate in over the course e here around around permit orhere mayor recently announced new legislation tremove the requirement for architectural plans for certain chaesf use. so this is a little bit technical, but have a significant impact in the nightlife and entertainment space, when a goes to change a use, even if thn[ involves no, modification of the space construction on the space, that change of use architectural drawings, which can cost thousands or, you know, $10,000, even if a business is just adding a beer and wine license and doing nothing else adding a place of entertainment permit and doing nothing elseo so strg

to remove the requirement for co be really impactful forin, people can get their their first year fees waived. but this is another this is another way of continuing to support our small businesses, next up was, we wer d to recently announce the awardees of the downtown■x enery grants. that's our new grant program toport downtown arts, culture, and entertainment activities during evenings existing businesses and organizations that aoi neighborhoods to help those neighborhoods thrive.■v 14 grantees across downtown for a total of $500,000 in awards with a goal of in addition to every, everye is going to be doing new entertainment programing as part their work. but what's really exciting to me,awardees here is that,

additionallyere's work to or the grantees are going to be working to build their own long term capacity collaboration between businesses, investing in new equipment, developing new marketing campaigns and new festivals across multiple businesses, really an exciting f collaboration that i think we're ally we're really pleased to support. more information about all of the grantees on sf new deal's website. and then finally, a quick update. justt3 another plug for our sf live concert series, which is san frd entertainment venues. there was a great concert that thereat american music hall put on on saturday at china basin park, the. i was pleased to deliver a proclamation from the mayor naming it american music hall day in support of our venu s, moreendent live mus information about all of the upcoming concerts. tre's still

know, familiar with the things that came up a couple of years ago, particularly with the sound issues that were coming forrdert commission around the location of baobab moving from 19th to, you know, closer to 18th on mission street. and we're pleased to say that, you know, even with all of the issues that have then gone forward with that, that, you know, we've really been able to work with the neighbors to hal■sxqly healy working relationship that, you know, has■ks for the last two years, not resulted in any sound complaints since we came■é bcome are also now a recognized legacy business as well too. anj] so what we're looking to do is really help continue to revitalizeng at doing that by having extended hours to have basically food service as well as, late night parties going till 4 a.m. only on the weekends from friday and saturday, but then additionally as well to, you know, looking at using food service just late night. so that way when people

come to baobab, you know, they're able to go dance, have e able to have some of the food indoors as well too. so that way they're able to sober up, this will be one ofhe particularly within the mission. and so we think this is going to be a really good addition for the neighborhood. and, you know, and we're excit know, at this time, you know, not having any opposition coming in, but then also athe you know, lie friendly relationships with tentional works. and there's that marco and myself have done to reallyu know, we're excited to come here really with good news and, you know, and great intentions. but we're also available for any questions as well to■o■. no, nof questions. sounds greats a sense of what what what kind of entertainment you're hoping to do till for just a

that's you. thank you. yeah. thank you. to speak here. okay.o my c rebel. i have lived at 1811 clement for over above lacma, wh has occupied the downstairs business since february 2018. several neighbors have all lived in this neighborhood for decades. we have never had this marothey moved more than when ty had more than double their capacity from the parklets and increased sidewalk tables, causing increased noise amo other things. this has caused us all tremendous■5 stress and has negatively impacted our quality of life. la fema owners have demonstrated repeatedly that they only care about their bottom line and not neighbors

concerns. they don't take ownership for their actions, but instead blame the neighbors and me. when the city violation for being out of compliance, they should not be ised a fixed place amplified sound permit because during their jam permit music was played at various volumes from morning to nights. their carries and vibrates into my and the neighbor's homes, who live nearby. they continue to pl music even after their jam permit expired in september usic even after their parklets were closederm.e repeatedly asked their workers happens, nothing changes.this customers are already loud and, creating increased noise. when i told the owner, his answer was simply the music makes my customers happy and i keep my customers happy. signs to keep voices down are never enforced, and customers continue to talk at high vumesnd the■a

which are email sent to san francisco entertainment commissionnth. dor concerns, especially the noise issues such owd with their customers, loud noisesi, smoking from them while they are waiting for seatin especially one time they even their the car. the customer parked the car by our drive m husband has an emergency the car to emet cannot because they blocked our driveway. so i have to call 911 ambulance. he calls emergency. lucky saved his life and then the noisesrom their kitchen travel up to our bathroom window, which is in■ s

the neighbors, it'sot our jurisdiction. so our jurisdiction is specifically whether or not they can play ambient music on their, outdoorl say, too, is that, no matter what hasñ happened in the past during covid and jam, during tht this and this is to the neighbors as well, if that does happen, that means that when there areple, let's say music ws playing after a certain time, you would have access directly to our inspectors who show up in the field often at as quickly as possible. and certainly,threal y come regularly and often afterwards. and think that's evidenced by our long track record of i think what happens here a lot is that people come in and they think, oh, if this business gets a permit, they're going to be actually the
