her mother, jacqueline hendricks was last seen with celine at the school on henry street on wednesday. she is described as a 39-year- old black woman, 5 feet 5 inches tall, medium build with brown hair and brown eyes. she weighs 185 pounds. police are looking for carlos hicks. he is 6 feet 1 inches tall and was 220 pounds. issuing an amber alert for the child, they believe the three are in a white four-door chevy lumina sedan with new mexico ngg 506 plate. neither parent has custody of celine and they have a history of violence. while the chevy lumina has been seen on the streets in the bronx, police are under the impression they could be heading to new mexico. tim fleischer, channel 7 eyewitness news. >> tim, thank you. more breaking news. part of the taconic state parkway is closed right now in westchester county.

getting in an accident with another vehicle. this all happening near the millwood yorktown border. we are told there are no life- threatening injuries in the crash and as we take a live look now at the area, the southbound lanes we are told are closed and only one northbound lane is getting by. you can see traffic is very slow and that scene is still very much there. we will keep you posted on this breaking story. new at noon, we are hearing from the family of a livery cab driver killed on his first night on rafael beras was stabbed just after 1:00 this morning. now the search is on for his killer. eyewitness news reporter rob nelson is in brooklyn with the new details. rob? >> reporter: well, dave, as you said, police at this hour are searching for the person that may have stabbed this livery cab driver to death early this morning. we don't have much information at this hour. as you can imagine, his family

news. >> my mother is in shock right now. >> reporter: the victim's brother heartbroken describing rafael beras as a good man never in trouble. beres has just started working as a livery cab driver and was found stabbed multiple times in the front seat about 1:00 this morning near the intersection of dumont and shepherd. his wallet and cell phone had not been taken leaving the motive unclear. himself. look what happened. >> reporter: beras's brother said rafael who has a 17-year- old son recently left his restaurant job to become a driver and in fact thursday was the first day on the job for new lots car service. after police discovered his body, he was taken to brock dale university hospital where he was pronounced dead. >> he don't do anything wrong. we come to this country to work hard. >> reporter: the only bit of good news in the case is that the cab is equipped with a

provide police with a critical lead in the case. >> we are hopeful that the camera in the vehicle would have gotten the images and we are asking nypd to download or upload those images today and give them to all the faces in the community because maybe one or two drivers know who this guy is. >> reporter: and, again, at this hour we are waiting for the images, whatever the camera may have captured. the car in question belonged to the driver's brother. the man killed, rafael was not licensed yet. it was his first night driving alone and then this tragedy happened. this neighborhood is known to be dangerous. the car service where he was employed so briefly has encouraged drivers to not park on the street with no lights and in the dark with little traffic. that leader in the taxi industry described as a rookie mistake that cost him his life. rob nelson, channel 7

west indian american day parade in brooklyn. carey gabay's family removed him from life support last night after doctors declared him brain dead. police are searching for two suspects caught on surveillance video in crown heights shortly after the shooting on september 7th. governor cuomo said in a statement that new york state has lost, quote, one of its finest young men. today we expect to hear from the new jersey high school football player accused of hitting an opponent with a helmet during a game. the player from linden and his mother say they will discuss the incident this afternoon. the victim, a player from imacculata high school in somerville was back on the field practicing. in video from last week, you see the lynn men lineman apparently rip off number 73's helmet and bashing it into his head causing a wound that required 10 stitches. the linden player has been kicked off the team and suspended from classes. the long island railroad

train derailment caused two days of service disruptions. there were scattered delays this morning as debris was cleared. now the l.i.r.r. reports trains are on or close to schedule. two freight cars damaged more than 1,000 feet of track when they went off the rails in westbury tuesday. mayor de blasio taking on the topless women and costumed characters in time's square. he is launching a task force to change the layout. today is the first scheduled meetings. they want a special area set aside to the scantily clad women and other costumed characters soliciting money. 11 republican candidates took to the stage for a second time at the ronald reagan presidential library in the debate lasting three hours featured a lot of back and forth, some insults and a serious look at policy. who came out on top? wrap up.

they went into a what a burger. the man behind the counter told them we don't serve police. the officers left and filed a complaint against the employee. the restaurant chain fired the man and apologized. now the former employee said he was only joking. the officers said they continue to continue eating at the burger chain. a lot of social push back on this story. people upset with how that was handled. much more news ahead in our next half hour including an assistant principal on long island appearing in this rap video posted on you tube.

uptick in a city known for cracking down on tobacco use. a 2014 survey showed fewer than 900,000 adults smoked. that is down from more than a million the year before. the smoking rate feel for years before hitting 16% in 2013 prompting officials to light up new antismoking ads. a community in new jersey coming together to help an injured dog. when the stray dog joey was found wondering the streets, he was emaciated and you could see his ribs. he had serious leg injuries and suffered from anxiety. they suspect he was abused. after a few weeks of care he is on the road to recovery but the treatment is expensive. so the animal refuge is excepting donations to help with his medical costs. a lot of people are stepping up trying to do what they can. >> good luck to joey.

fear over a homemade device that turned out to be a clock sparking an arrest that has taken the internet by storm. police removed ahmed mohammed from his high school in irving texas and put him in handcuffs. a teacher thought a homemade alerted authorities. he spoke to robin roberts about the arrest. >> i brought the clock to impress my teachers and i guess when i showed it to her, she was scared. she saw a clock but in her opinion it looked like a threat to her. it felt really weird getting arrested.
