possible intentional explosion. surveillance video of the brooklyn blast is perhaps the first big clue this wasn't a typical explosion. the video shows a simultaneous blast and fire ball blowing out the second floor of an apartment. compare that to the deadly gas leak explosion in the east village last march where there's a huge blast but initially no fire ball. minutes later a gas-filled building is a burning inferno. in saturday's blast there's the initial fire ball but few flames afterward. investigators now believe that's because there was probably no gas leak to feed a fire. the investigation now focuses on intentional setting off of the explosion. debris is being tested for any chemicals that may have been used as an accelerant. all possibilities are being looked at. there is now renewed interest in the financial debt, which we

are told was considerable. she was being evicted from her apartment for being months behind on rent and her gas had been turned off back in june. just prior to the explosion on saturday afternoon, the 49-year- old mother and hairdresser had texted her children with what one source described as farewell messages. but her sister tells eyewitness news that she does not know whether the sister was in debt. she insists that her sister did not commit suicide. law enforcement officials who were initially looking at some type of gas leak as the source in sad's explosion now confirm there was no natural gas in her apartment. bottom line here is that this is anything but a typical gas explosion. the fire ball, one expert tells me, is rarely seen in a gas- fedex motion. just not enough oxygen, he says it is more indicative of some kind of accelerant or different fuel source causing the blast fire. diana, back to you.
