halloween horror. an out of control car smashes in to a group of trick or treaters. did the driver suffer a medical condition before the deadly crash? >> on the break. the mets have one more shot at citifield to keep their world series hopes alive. good evening, everyone. i'm sandra bookman. >> and i'm joe torres. we begin with the deadly crash in the bronx. a group of young trick or treaters and adults strolling along morris park avenue when an out of control dodge charger jumped the curb

>> killed in that crash, 65-year-old luis perez. 10-year-old nyanna aquil, and 24-year-old kristian leka. the horrific scene unfolded in the morris park section of the bronx. that's where mallory hoff is this evening. >> reporter: wearing a hospital gown with scratches on the side of her face, a woman broke down on the scene where nyanna aquil, kristian leka and her 65-year-old grandfather luis perez were killed. two other children and one adult were also hurt when they were mowed down by a car trick or treating in park. >> reporter: carol richie works at the ps83 school aquil attended. she saw him saking care of his grand daughters. >> now to lose both of them. >> reporter: now investigators

led a 52-year-old man driving a 2011 dodge charger to hit another car before losing control, jumping the curb and plowing in to a group of people on the sidewalk. today the car was towed away from a front yard where it ultimately came to a stop. >> what went through your head when you learned the unthinkable had happened here? >> i didn't believe it. >> reporter: a friend of 24-year-old victim kristian leka comprehend what happened. everyone. go young. >> reporter: mayor de blasio put out a statement saying in part we do not accept tragedies like this as inevitable. this could be any of our families. >> the kids are going to be devastated in school tomorrow. we'll work on that. >> no charges have been filed tonight. we're told the driver in this crash is still being treated for injuries. it's still unclear how he ended up

the mets needed just five outs to tie up the series last night before sending ace matt harvey to the mound tonight in hopes of giving their first advantage of the world series. heels. it all fell apart in the 8th inning of game 4. terry collins deciding to go with tyler clippard to start. familia got the ground ball he daniel murphy letting it go right under his glove. the tying run comes in to score on the error. mike moustakas does that. they get other the mets' shutdown closer for the second time in the world series but his teammates will be the first to tell you it's not his or murphy's fault. >> there was dozens of things we could have done better in this game to win this game. the way daniel murphy has been playing, the way he's put this offense back at times, daniel murphy did not lose us this game. we lost this game as a

news for continuing coverage as the mets try to battle back in this world series. show us your mets pride by sharing your fan photos with us using #abc7ny. two people from queens face multiple charges after an assault at a deli in the nassau county community of inwood. police say simone sturges and rose took two children trick or treating last night. investigators say the couple stole cookies and attacked the clerk following an argument over the treats the clerk gave the children. firefighters spent the night battling a warehouse that fire broke out inside one story building on bloom and fairfield around midnight. several explosions from inside the building were reported and flames shot up through the roof. there's no early word on a possible cause but essex county prosecutors are investigating. no one was hurt. marathon sunday. a fleet

thousands of hearty souls who completed this year's tcs new york city marathon. >> it was an enjoyment run. i didn't even >> reporter: for many this ultimate track through the five boroughs is about so much more than just reaching a finish line. just ask the mcgorty family cheering on a husband and father in the wheelchair race. >> it's such a nice accomplishment for him. he was injured in an accident two and a half years ago and this is the first big race he's done since then. >> my daughter sharon is running the marathon. >> reporter: all their stories are the story behind this 45-year-old race and what keeps the tens of thousands of spectators who lined the route to support them coming back year after year. >> one of the most incredible feelings to watch them.

fall by a degree or so by the time first 8:15 this evening. just a little bit of a wind pushing out toward right field so maybe the hitters can take that in to account. 55 in sussex. 61 down the shore in belmar. the radar satellite showed those little sprinkles that moved on by this morning have moved way offshore. now we have clearing moving in. high pressure is going to help us avoid this moisture over the southeastern part of the country. it looks like the northern edge of that maybe makes it up to the del marva. lows tonight in the meantime park. eventually getting down to the low 40s well north and west. highs tomorrow up to 64 under partly cloudy skies but check out tuesday, up to 70 degrees. offshore. we get a return flow behind it. but that means it's going to feel like september for much of the week. approaching records by friday.

. that's a familiar theme. far from over in the 4th. tied at 42. he coughed up the football. there's tremaine mcbride. it was looking good for bilge blue until the final minute. cj spiller with 36 seconds left. we're tied again at 49. the series of giants mistakes led to this in the final seconds. drilling the 50-yard field goal with seconds remaining. that's it. 52-49 the giants lose a wild one. >> frust rating. you want to explode but that's not going to help so you're trying to figure out how you can help. we did an awful lot of good thing to win quite frankly but not enough obviously in the win. the jets and raiders are both chasing division leaders on the season. either team would go a pretty long way to establish the wildcard credentials. ryan fitzpatrick left this one with a thumb injury.

show and it's been one to forget. 31-13 the jets. they've got making up to do in the 4th. one of the biggest rivalries in major league soccer resumes today. the red bulls took on dc united in the first game of a two-game eastern conference final. 72nd minute, dax mccarty. it's a huge away goal for the red bulls. only goal of game 1. they play again next sunday at red bull arena. it was a nearly perfect fall day for the 2015 tcs new york city marathon. taking home the gold, first time winner and one no stranger to the top of the podium. mary keitany who won here last year finished in 2:24:25, becoming the 8th woman to win new york twice. on the men's side it was stanley biwott from kenya.
