eyewitness news reporter jim dolan is there. >> this wasn't just an armed robbery. these men in masks terrified a father and his young son, threatened to shoot the father. the child was worried about what was going to happen store. >> reporter: it's a small store, a mom and pop store that barely has enough room for merchandise and customers at the same time but it got a whole lot extra crowded yesterday afternoon when at least four men stormed the place and demanded money. the owner didn't want to be identified but he was there with his 10-year-old son when the men came in sunday afternoon around 4:00. >> they pointed the gun right at my face. >> reporter: and watching all this unfold was the owner's terrified son who was pleading with the gunman. he paused. the memory of

overwhelming. the child so brave. >> i said okay, anthony, it's all right. >> reporter: the men then forced everyone in to the basement before robbing the register. surveillance cameras in the store were broken but cameras down the street did get video of four men leaving the store. police are still analyzing it. >> trying to figure out exactly who those men are when they came in to the store. remember it was the day after halloween. the owner didn't even think it was odd that they were wearing masks until they pulled their guns. jim dolan, channel 7 eyewitness news. new at 11:00, the mysterious disappearance of a disabled runner who vanished after crossing the finish line at the marathon. police are looking for 30-year-old gianclaudio marengo, last seen sunday afternoon at the marathon finish line.

mentally disabled. he's from italy to get another look at his photo, we've posted it on our web page, abc7ny. houses in flames in new jersey. tonight some families the fire starting earlier tonight in a vacant home in paterson, spreading to two adjacent homes. the other homes were damaged but not destroyed. vac nlt home where the fire started was gutted. the fire. another fire, this time in brooklyn. a high rise apartment building. the fire started about 3:30 this afternoon. firefighters able to contain the flames to just one apartment. one person suffered minor injuries. no word yet on the cause. police in brooklyn searching tonight for two suspects in a deadly shooting at a bodega where a customer tried to intervene. the hooded men walked in to the store on remsen avenue in east flatbush last tuesday and demanded money. a customer, damian francis, tried

to step in. that's when one robber shot and killed him. devastated. >> i started to cry. i just cried for like two days straight. he had a nice soft heart. >> after shooting francis, the suspects grabbed money from the register and took off. new video tonight in a horrific accident that killed three people and hurt several others on halloween night. police investigating whether the 52-year-old driver lost control of his car and was launched toward the trick or treaters because of some sort of medical event. eyewitness news reporter lucy yang has new information tonight about one of the victims. she's at the scene in the morris park section. immigrant from albania. he just got engaged last month. they were so excited. except now his wedding is being replaced by a funeral.

friends to strangers, there was a constant flow of prayers and sorrow tonight . >> i just broke down. >> reporter: they met up with kristian leka the night before never did he imagine his friend, a hardworking, family-oriented good man, would be killed. >> smiling. laughing. he was a great guy. >> reporter: 24 24-year-old kristian was taking treating. a night of innocent fun turned deadly. when a 52-year-old driver lost control on morris park avenue and plowed in to the crowded sidewalk. moments before the fatal accident, surveillance video shows the driver had already started losing control. repeatedly slamming in to the cab in front of him. authorities still trying to figure out why.

medical history of the driver who it's been reported had a history of seizures. >> reporter: also killed was 65-year-old louis perez and his 10-year-old granddaughter nyanna aquil. so much heartache. so much loss . i'm told the albanian community here is very close. they're all feeling the heartache. of course there's great sympathy going out to the other family as well who lost loved ones from two generations. we're live in the bronx tonight, lucy yang for channel 7 eyewitness news. new tonight, president obama on his way back to the white house after a whirlwind trip to the tri-state. speaking at two fundraisers including one before the broadway he said the moderators in the last debate were too tough. >> they can't handle a bunch of

response to a bill proposed by republicans last night to cut zadroga funding by 60% and limit it to five years. a plane crash mystery tonight. investigators working on several different theories about what exactly brought down a russian airliner in egypt, all 224 people onboard were killed. the airbus plummeting suddenly from the high altitude. this happened over the sinai peninsula on saturday. 23 minutes after taking off from the airport. was it a terrorist bomb or a missile strike? an isis linked group now claiming responsibility. >> we don't have any direct evidence of any terrorist involvement yet. >> does isis have the ability to shoot down an airliner? >> it's unlikely but i wouldn't rule it out. >> the airline metro jet today insisting the cause technical failure or pilot error but officials say it's too soon to know that. the volkswagon emissions

cheating scandal widening today to include the luxury brand porsche. the epa and california regulators citing volkswagon for installing software to cheat emissions tests in another 10,000 vehicles. that includes some audi suvs. they could now face steeper fines and lost sales. health officials expect an increase in e. coli cases linked to chipotle restaurants over the next few days. 22 people in washington state and oregon have gotten sick. eight had to go to the hospital and a dozen more are being tested. the mexican food changed closed all 43 locations in both states as health officials try to find the exact source of the bacteria. we have new video tonight of a tornado that left a wild trail of destruction. the powerful twister caught on home surveillance camera, packing 115-mile-per-hour winds. the ef2 tornado picking up patio furniture, throwing it against the house. one nearby home was

destroyed. several others damaged. three tornados touched down in texas. at least 20 vehicles colliding today during a heavy dust storm outside of bakersfield, california. traffic backed up for miles. five people were hurt in pileup, none of them seriously. this is one of several out west because of storms. new tonight, political maneuvering. the craemp -- the company behind the controversial keystone pipeline suspending. a letter asked the government to stop review of the pipeline application while it works through the approval process in nebraska. the move would put off a final decision on the project until after president obama leaves office. he was expected to reject the pipeline. talk about a halloween trick. apparently this costume of a candy crook. watch it all go down and you'll here from the shocked homeowner who saw it all happen.

cinderella outfit apparently enlisted by the adult with her to steal an entire halloween display from jones' front porch. >> it's not the candy. it's more the principal of the entire situation. >> reporter: the staten island woman said she set out two tubs of halloween knies along with a sign admonishing trick or treaters to take no more than two pieces each. they made off not just with mounds of candy but also both containers that held them along with this teal colored pumpkin for treats with kids with food allergies. >> i take the time. i care about the kids. i always do. that's what i really wanted to do. that's what hurts the most. >> reporter: she can't figure out how an adult could set such a sour example for a little girl who clearly knows no better. there isn't exactly a trail of wrappers to follow but jones did provide police with that video

she says it is the suspect's suv shot by a neighbor's security camera. police say they have now started an investigation. if you recognize this sticky fingered thief, you should give them a call. josh einiger, channel 7 eyewitness news. new details about a vicious attack on an uber driver caught on camera. the suspect in that beating, a taco bell executive. we're told fired. ben golden, who led taco bell's mobile commerce and innovation, was arrested this weekend after video captured him attacking an uber driver who had asked him to get out of the car. in a statement, taco bell confirmed golden was fired and said they have offered him professional help. hey american pharoah, he just won another race. what are you going to do now? he's not going to disney world. instead he's out to pasture and a new life as a stud horse. the

legal. american pharoah put a bow on his legendary career this weekend with one final win at the breeder's cup. new at 11:00, an outpouring of support for a young hockey player from connecticut who is about to have brain surgery. 8-year-old benny is flying to an arizona hospital next week after battling bad headaches and to get him ready for the trip, teammates threw him a pizza party and he got in hockey practice with the bridgeport sound tigers. then the phone rang. >> it's patrice bergeron, his favorite player. he froze and didn't know what to say. >> he said i was a really good fan and said he's cheering for me and i'm not cheering for him. >> benny's story has gone viral and his family says they've been getting messages of support from all kinds of athletes from the nhl to the nba. >> good luck to little benny. that's just awesome . good for them. those athletes.

probably come in on thursday. first clouds we see over the next 72 hours. we'll still be near 70 degrees and warmer friday. patchy fog. 55 in the city. up to 70. super comfortable. tomorrow only down to 56. here's your 7 -day accuweather 70 tomorrow. same on afternoon temperatures looking at low 70s away from the coast. mid 70s on the coast. in terms of thursday, that's when you're going to see a little bit more cloud cover but this futurecast really holding off a lot of the showers. maybe a late afternoon and bumped up the high from the upper 60s to around 70 because i think we'll still get at least a little bit of sunshine. on friday ahead of the cold front sun will give way to cloud cover and there could be some showers at night. but you're looking at highs in the middle 70s. record high is 74. we're forecasting a tie there. saturday is a breezy day. clouds yield to sun. 65 probably feels more like 50s with the breeze. back in the 50s on sunday and monday of next week. and yet another warmup will follow after that. november is not showing any
