casings lying in the street, the police are towing away a car, it appears the car windows were broken with bullets. police say it's a drive-by shooting, with three suspects. the driver was the gunman they say. police know who he is and are looking for him. we spoke with a neighbor who says the male victim fatally shot, he doesn't live here and was just hanging out. the same neighbor says he heard at least 10 to 11 gunshot, and ran to help the little girl. >> was shaking really bad, and we were really scared she was shot in the leg. she was in front of the property. when somebody shoots it's scary. >> reporter: now there had been no arrests so far in the incidents, and of course we'll keep you posted on the

at this point the victims haven't been identified. >> thank you. we have new information about the third deadly bus hitting a pedestrian accident this week in new york city. the latest incident in flushing queens. the victim, a woman jaywalking, the bus driver may not have known he even hit her. the bus today found nearly 90 miles away in madison, connecticut. tim fleischer at the scene of the accident in flushing with the latest. >> reporter: and bill, at the scene tonight it's awfully crowded. you can see buses all jammed up along here as well. the 84-year-old victim was out in the middle of the street at the time she was struck. the bus then drove away, but not police have found it, and they have identified it. police identified a bus from the skyline bus company here in east elmhurst as the one that struck and killed an 84-year- old pedestrian. we were there exclusively when inspectors arrived at the company. the official says they're

bus company officials are cooperating with the police, and say a bus went through flushing at the time of the accident on the way to fox woods casino. a bus fitting the description was spotted as a rest stop by connecticut state police after the accident, and it's been identified as the bus that struck the pedestrian. >> every death will be investigated, and those responsible will be identified and prosecuted accordly. >> reporter: so far no arrests have been made, but the latest fatality, the third this week awill remembers jordan -- alarms jordan. >> they come zooming down the block, and veer, and this is a very congested area, and it needs to be addressed. >> reporter: last night police say an 84-year-old woman was crossing the street, and was struck by a bus that continued heading north without stopping. she suffered severe trauma and died at the scene. >> it doesn't matter if you're

inmate, but now officials with the unions that represent riker's they're saying we'll see a lot more attacks like this because of the reform. the victim, 31-year-old ray calderon has 22 stitches on his face. two gang members in a high security area assaulted him yesterday afternoon with a small scalpel blade. >> the fact that they did it in the manner which they did yolking him from behind and slashing him, it's premeditated assault, showing they have no respect for the authority and law. >> reporter: union officials are livid about the attack and the reforms. they can no longer punch on inmate. visiting rules will change, and next year solitary confine system banned for those younger than 21. some call it a recipe for disaster, but not mayor.

that was the justice department concern, and it wasn't working. making people more violent. >> reporter: but inmates 18 to 21 are the biggest problems, and some wonder if the reforms are too little. >> it's not in our job description to be nice. so i'm mean. i mean. we want to treat people humanely, and make sure the violence is curtailed. >> reporter: in the last few years the city had to pay millions to inmates brutally beaten by officers. that led to reform, and that's led to unions saying it's officers that feel unsafe. >> they're getting brutalized. i've never seen the levels of violence being escalated, i've never seen a lack of respect like this. >> reporter: while riker's was on lock down all day today, and i asked if they found

contraband in the search, and he says they did find one small scalpel blade similar to what attack. live, dave evans. thank you. some type of bomb in the luggage apartment is what intelligence experts in the us and britain think brought down egypt. they believe that seems the likely cause according to the experts. the plane crashed saturday, and russia suspended flights to egypt, and the uk halted british flight there is because of security concerns at the airport. meanwhile the department of homeland security here in the us announcing a series of new security efforts in the international airport. officials have not disclosed the new condition, but say it's

now to the weather, and yes, it's absolutely okay. you can like this warm weather and be a little leery of it. mid-70s in mid-november? great day for a run in central park, but we're told by lee goldberg this ain't going to last. he's outside the studios. confusing. a block up there's a street vendor who went to wallets and bags to scarfs and hats on the 1st, but business is slow. this guy is enjoying a late summer evening in a tee shirt. we tied the record in central park. smashed the record at jfk in the his-70s. four straight days in the 70s hasn't happened in 21 years. the wind has backed off a

notice it will breeze. 72 -- noticeable breeze. 71, and we had a fair amount of cloud cover. still mid-70s in parts of northern new jersey. obviously the front hasn't come through yet. the showers continue to weaken in new jersey, traveling along i-80, maybe head over to gwb and upper manhattan. couple of showers along i of 78 -- along the interstate over to glen cove, and it's going to be very light and brief. the numbers are dropping, but not until about 4 or 500 miles away. we're let you know when the temperatures start to plummet, and we could see freezing in a couple of spots weekend. that's coming up in the seven- day later on. back to you for now. >> a lot to talk about.

>> reporter: after 18 weeks of training, 290 probationary firefighters graduated today. >> they're charged with always doing the right thing no matter the circumstances, no matter the cost. that's the reputation that's been earned by so many men and women coming before you. >> reporter: this year's class is one of the most diverse in history. four females from joined the ranks bringing the total of number of fdny women to 49. the highest ever. >> it's a blessing, and i'm very fortunate, and the experience has definitely humbled me greatly. >> i have two daughter, and i wanted them to see that if they have a dream they can do it. >> reporter: in a department of nearly 11,000 members though, the gains are modest. the pride here runs deep, especially for lisa, who joins her two brothers on the force.

excited and happy to keep up with. >> reporter: still, there are miles to go. 80 percent of the department with still white, and women makeup just about 1 percent. rob nelson. >> something else was special about this class. two sons offs firefighters who -- sex offender firefighters who -- two sons of firefighters who died on 9/11 graduated today, and we spoke to one. he was profiled so many years ago, nearly died in 1998, came back as a captain september 10th, 2001, and a son taking over for a father 14 years later. assigned to the same fair station his dad was in brooklyn. >> gives me chills. can't wait to hear the story later tonight. and coming up, a story that will bring you a smile.

look at the high, 76, 77. lower 70s in belmar, and the cold front is ready to come through. we'll start to see a wind shift overnight to the west/northwest, but only going down to 60 in new york city, a lot of clouds, limited sun during the day. dry for the most part. we could have a shower at times, but most of us dry. we'll kind of flat line in the low to mid-60, and it will feel cooler because the humidity comes way down, and there's a breeze out of the southwest, so patterson, along i-80, and yonkers and the bronx, very light showers, and another batch, brief shower in the evening hours. cold front coming through in a few years, but -- hours, but
