members of the government, including angela merkel, were scheduled to attend the game but had not arrived. no signs of panic. most fans evacuated without any issues. security at the stadium was already very tight, as you can imagine, police armed with -- with machine guns. they maintained a vis -- visible presence. all of the players and staff were moved to a second location. this was the second stadium in hanover evacuated today. a concert was postponed because of a threat and earlier in the day, the bell belgian soccer federation called off their event in spain because of a heightened alert. from concerns in germany to the terror investigation in paris, french police hunting for a second person say they was directly involved in the attacks. here's more.

that makes three people's whose identity for whom they are looking. but there are so many people they don't know the identities of. two of the gunmen held identical passports. they don't know who either one of those two gunmen is and that makes this investigation so much more difficult. russia stepped up bombing of isis targets in syria now and france is bombing there as well. and all an all-out effort to prevent -- an all-out effort to prevent reaching their borders. but the most immediate concern now is here in europe where a massive manhunt is underway to track down two men who police believe carried and fired in the paris attack but managed to escape. the mastermind who they say planned it from the safety of brussels. the brother of one gunman doesn't doubt his brother's involvement.

prevent future plots. as that seems unlikely, the continues. >> thank you. in london, the french national soccer team is playing a friendly game against england. the french and british players stood arm and arm singing of the national anthems. fans re-created a french flag. prince william is among those in the stands watching the match. a college student from new jersey was among the tens of thousands of spectators at the stadium during the terror attacks last friday. erica gomez is in paris studding art administration and french. amidst the chaos after the bombs detonated, she managed to call home to let her family know she was all right. >> there was some very anxious moments there at that point in time. you are so far away.

the fear of af louing syrian refugees in the u.s -- of allowing syrian refugees in the u.s. came after it was feared one entered paris. the nypd are reviewing security measures for the upcoming thanksgiving parade. this is times square where there was already stepped up security with the busy holiday season getting underway. tim fleischer has more. >> reporter: and sade, security in times square where other crowds gather, certainly are gonna be very much a concern, especially as the holiday season continues. what some of the security measures -- you won't see them. others will be quite visible. heavily armed and now on higher alert since the pair rix

right -- breaking news right now. a man in new jersey was rescued from a car that plunged into the saddle river. this all happening in garfield. newschopper 7 remains over the area but right now toni yates is on the ground and joins us with a look at what's happening there. >> reporter: yes, indeed, diana. you can see there's so much activity on midland avenue. you can see they fine were able to hoist that car up out of the river. now, if you have seen the pictures from newscopter, you can see that it is a pretty steep lot down into the saddle river channel where that water was very low right now. now, this happened about 4:00. a woman at a nearby restaurant says a man was driving that car that you saw. that witness says the car came speeding through the parking lot just off midland avenue. it crashed through some lumber in the parking lot. then it went through a fence. it went air boesch and -- airborne and flipped over onto

the rooftop in the river channel. rescuers got that one person out. there was no one else in the car. they've lifted the car out again. that person, that man was take on a local trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries. at this point, we don't know if it was a person who just hit the gas and didn't know what he was doingor if there was a medical -- doing or if there was a medical condition involved. we'll speak to police to find out what happened. >> find out and lept us know. a passenger on an international flight now under arrest for going berserk midair. police say the woman, about 30 years old, tried to open an exit door on a british airways flight from london to boston. she was restrained. the plane landed safely a half- hour early at loegen international airport. the woman -- logan international airport. the woman was taken into custody. absolutely no think to terrorism. the head of russia's security service said a homemade device brought down a russian plane over egypt.

russia announcing a $50 million real ward for information leading -- reward for information leading to who planted the boom. all 224 people on board died. new at 5:00, we're hearing from the family girl who died when part of a building facade came crashing down on her. today, a building engineer was in court charged with lying about inspecting that building. dave evans is outside of the building on the upper west side with more. dave? >> reporter: we're on westin avenue at 74th street. this is the building in question, the esplanade senior living center. this report is so sad, it shows so many people knew about problems with this building and didn't do anything. the district attorney said the inspector claimed to do an inspection and didn't. on may 17th, 2-year-old greta greene was in her stroller. a chunk of the esplanade crumb

billed eight stories up -- crumbled eight stories up and died. the professional engineer, maqsood faruqi, concluded that the facade was safe, even though he had never been to the esplanade. he's been arrested and charged with falsifying a city document. >> it was wrongdoing and where it had this kind of tragic result, that's something we take especially seriously and it's especially hard to have to live with that. >> reporter: but perhaps more disturbing, seven months before greta's death, a worker near the esplanade saw cracks in the building. on october 6th last year, he sent an emergency e-mail, scary, get someone over quick. a building department's architect asked a supervisor can we inspect? that supervisor didn't respond. >> that's terrible.

that's the only thought. >> my thoughts are that unfortunately, this happens all of the time and we have to just check up on the inspectors more. >> reporter: today's report also found hundreds of other buildings with no safety inspections or no followups. investigators are demanding better tracking and greta's family says we remain heartbroken over our loss. it's painful to discover how preventable it was. >> so we had multiple opportunities here to prevent this tragedy and this was a wholesale breakdown. >> reporter: and for the last couple of months, the department of buildings has been working overtime trying to get all of these safety inspection records up to date. they've been working overtime on all of this and i asked the investigations commissioner should we feel worried when we walk under these older buildings. he said no, the vast majority are safe. that being said the inspection

en su cuidado. breaking news that we're following right now. a car has now been removed from the saddle river in garfield after it ended up overturned in the water. a witness said she saw the car speeding through a nearby parking lot before flying through the air. the driver survived. overseas, we have now learned no explosives were found in a soccer stadium in germany. the stadium, though, was evacuated and the game canceled because of what was considered a serious threat.

also a concert was canceled at a second stadium because of security concerns. and another breaking news story, two people shot in brooklyn inside a subway station. it happened a short time ago. >> we know those two people are in serious condition. we have a reporter headed to the scene. we'll bring you updates as soon as we get them. now our top story -- a daycare worker accused of molesting a little boy in his care. >> and that worker had been on the job in tuckahoe for less than two weeks. >> marcus is there live. marcus? >> reporter: sade, diana, a meet something scheduled -- a meeting is scheduled between parents and administrators. how could someone accused of such an act be hired here in the first place? isaac nelson mcknight said nothing as he left court, the building where he worked, the building where he's being prosecuted. the 23-year-old is accused of inappropriately touching a 4-

year-old at the andrus early learning center on november 5th, an alleged crime so court. >> just shock. just like if it could happen here, it could happen anywhere. >> reporter: mcknight was arrested on friday. >> ask fon an all-purpose adjournment next tuesday. >> reporter: his lawyer waived his appearance upon learning inside. relatives had little to say. >> get the camera off me. >> reporter: daycare preschool facility for children from 18 months to 5 years old. located in what many consider the safest place in town. >> my daughter was here when the sandy hook shooting happened. i could not have felt safer here. >> reporter: mcknight worked at the facility for eight days and passed the necessary background check.

>> i know he had no criminal record. i know there are some agencies that assist with vetting people that care for children. i think all of those processes were follow. >> reporter: a statement, we've been working with the children involved as well as local law enforcement authorities to ensure that the child and the family are supported and the children in our care remain safe. and mcknight felony. he's being held on $250,000 bail. back to you. the city parks department has suspended the outside contractor who was removing a tree that crushed a deliveryman in brooklyn. the tree came crashing down yesterday on richard street in red hook just as a worker from a restaurant rode by on a bike. the tree was being pruned as part of a post-sandy cleanup project.

this is a four-alarm fire in patterson, new jersey. several homes are burning on north fourth street. no word on injuries. we do have a reporter headed to -- to there. opening statements begin in the trial of dean skelos and his son. he's charged with extortion and bribery. accused of abusing his position to help his son make $300,000. he was arrested in may. he pleaded not guilty. 17 form er -- former boy scouts have filed a lawsuit over alleged sexual abuse that dates back 40 years. the suit alleges that ridgefield scoutmaster, donald dennis sexually assaulted the boys over 12 years starting in 1963 and sexually abused two girls.

so when the car is randomly moved without your knowledge, what do you do next? one couple turned to 7 on your side for help all drivers can use. nina? >> it's not just the police who can legally tow your car. we learned that utilities have the power to do it, too. and unlike the law, some companies don't have any set of rules for notifying car owners. so uncovering who took your wheels may take sleuthing. so it's a mystery? >> yes. >> reporter: this realtor had little time to solve it. he was parked in a spot. the next morning when he needed his wheels fast to catch a flight to l.a -- >> i thought it was stolen. >> reporter: the car gone. core dorned off -- cordoned off with a cone by con ed. >> and it said no parking from 4:00 to 6 and i realized it was coned.
