business recognizing the nypd is providing extraordinary protection to the people of the city. 35,000 members strong. and just in this last week we've initiated the first wave of our new critical response command which will grow to 500-plus officers specifically dedicated to antiterrorism activities. these officers who have been assigned in the last months will be specifically trained, equipped, and armed to handle any terrorist threat. and be part of our overall efforts of the nypd to prevent terrorism in coordination with our federal partners. the people of new york city can rest assured that extraordinary efforts are being made every single day to keep them safe. this is the finest police force in this nation.

heart of inglewood and tonight its doors are closed after a collaborative effort between the department of health and police led to a major bust. four employees working were arrested for selling drugs, untaxed tobacco products, as well as a host of stolen property. >> i've had my suspicions. but i try to keep as far away from it as possible. >> reporter: an epicenter of problems is how police describe crown fish and chicken, a staple investigators say was a magnet for crime. anonymous tips prompted the health department to send a minor here saturday to buy cigarettes. when police followed up with a raid days later what they uncovered was much more than secret recipes. >> literally thousands and thousands of pieces of drug paraphernalia not only related to marijuana but also crack cocaine. >> reporter: in all detectives recovered over 100 bags of marijuana.

new at 11:00, a bizarre story. a woman drunk steals a taxi cab parked in front of an nypd precinct. >> the passenger was out of control and thus began quite a ride in a stolen taxi. >> mapping it all out for us, here's eyewitness news reporter stacey sager. >> reporter: 50-year-old ronald dazier has been driving a cab in new york city for 15 years now, seeing plenty of drunk passengers, but none who have actually tried to steal his cab. according to a criminal complaint, that's exactly what happened after 27-year-old real estate broker and a female companion got in to his cab in

the wee hours of friday morning. it all started when he picked up the two women here on washington street and little west they asked to go to 23rd and lex. that's when they got a bit hazy. >> they don't know where they're going. >> reporter: new destination, 21st and 1st. according to ronald, when he stopped here at 21st and first, the two women actually got out of his cab and tried to get in to another taxi until he warned that cabbie they were drunk. then he says it was 51st and first, and you get the picture. in an effort to help them he diverted the trip to the 13th precinct. but just as they got out, tabares got in, stealing the cab. then she was nabbed by police just five blocks up. ronald's bad night didn't end there. >> they throw up twice in my car. twice. >> did they ever pay the fare.
