we're hearing from the woman in the car he hit. but first a wet and windy night, heavier rain falling for most of the night. how much will stick around for your morning commute? good evening at 11:00. i'm bill ritter. >> and i'm sade baderinwa. the umbrellas were out tonight in harlem as people walking outside were doing what they could to stay drive. >> meteorologist lee goldberg predicted it. he's at the weather wall. >> we went from drizzle to a del uge this evening. we're still balmy at 63 and a south wind at 8 miles per hour getting ready to shift over to the southwest. we had .2 of an inch or less at 6:00. inch and a half in the park. inch and a half in white plains. we're still picking up the amounts on the eastern end of long island. 40 miles per hour in places like laguardia. most areas along the coast, 25 to 30. look at the wind stream lines. a cold front coming through here bringing an end to the rain.

has shifted to connecticut and long island. still lighter rains in new york city. it's ended over western new jersey. last drops in the city right 12:30, 1:00. then finally we're dry by dawn with the skies clearing out. heavy rain will linger over long island and connecticut the next few hours but for all of us it's dry by dawn. that balmy wind is going to turn brisk. weekend chill. new at 11:00, we're hearing from the woman rear ended from a new jersey state trooper now charged with driving drunk. the incident caught on dash cam and what this woman has to say is more than disturbing. n.j. burkett near the scene off the garden state parkway. >> rest area in the garden state parkway where a minor accident has become a major problem for a new jersey state

trooper. the accident happened last month but the dashcam video has just now been released and the motorist is speaking out tonight for the >> he had a gun and he was drunk. he was in a lot of trouble. >> reporter: weeks later kim wilson is too shaking. her car has just been rear ended by a new jersey state police cruiser but the trooper she says is disheveled and incoherent, and a bottle cap tumbles out of his shirt which he's wearing inside out. >> it looked like he just got out of bed. >> reporter: kim said she called 911 and got scared. >> i'm like, where's your weapon? and he lifted his shirt up and i could see he had his gun on him, then the magazine fell on the ground. when that happened, i lost it. >> reporter: the trooper, identified as sergeant first class michael roadside, was on duty at the time.

in the dash cam video kim tells the responding trooper that sergeant roadside offered to pay her not to report the accident. and in the video he questions sergeant roadside, who apparently blames his condition on a recent surgical procedure. >> i had a surgery. i'm under anesthesia right now. when he was discharged is not clear. he was later charged with dwi. >> he sat in his car behind me with his weapon on him for a very long time while we were waiting for the supervisor to come and i felt very vulnerable. >> reporter: kim doesn't need a dash cam video to remember what happened but she's relieved tonight to know there is one. >> it's harder to cover something like that up. >> to be clear, there is no allegation that the sergeant ever threatened kim with his gun. his blood alcohol level, however, registered .16.

enough to override any veto from the president. senator reed believers the bill will not survivor in the senate. a vigil in new jersey tonight for a woman found murdered 10 days after she vanished. friends and family gathered in newark in honor of 50-year-old pamela davis. her body discovered bound and decapitated in the garage of a home on south 11th street last week just a few doors from her home. police are questioning a man who rents the home where she was found. so far no arrests. the cold case murder of a teacher in new jersey now boiling hot after they arrests three suspects. the men are charged with the murder of milton in 2009. the 33-year-old red bank teacher killed in her apartment in neptune. police say the suspects plan to burglarize an empty apartment but broke in to milton's home by mistake. all three suspects in prison for other crimes. another murder, this one on long island where cops in nassau tonight looking for a killer.

the body of susan goldfarb found bound and gagged in her bed. cause of death, asphyxiation. police say there are no signs of forced entry. a candlelight vigil for kenneth chamberlain, an emotionally disturbed man shot and killed by police in westchester county four years ago. family and friends coming together in white plains calling for justice for the 68-year-old man. police say they shot chamberlain after he came after them with a knife and hatchet. a government report ruled the shooting totally justified. a somber anniversary tomorrow for the family of akai gurley, an innocent man shot and killed by a new york cop who will soon stand trial. gurley's family plans to meet with the da and attend a vigil. mr. gurley, who had committed no crime, shot by peter liang. liang charged with manslaughter and negligent homicide. as we continue this thursday night, flying for the holidayings. -- for the holidays. >> plus

taking off her shoes and giving them to the barefoot homeless woman. the good samaritan taking a picture of the barefoot woman, barefoot no more. that's when that one act of kindness sparked another. here's aj ross. >> everybody's getting off work and everybody's on their phone. >> reporter: in a crowded 3 train in times square during peak rush hour, kay brown took notice of a perfect stranger, a homeless woman whose weary journey one could only imagine. >> she just had a tiny little raggedy shirt and like a jacket. bare feet. not socks. feet. >> reporter: qui etly and discreetly kay said she approached the woman and offered the shoes off her own feet, which happened to be a perfect match. >> she asked me like are you sure? i said yes, of course. she started put ting them on and started crying. it was amazing and she just put them on and left.

>> reporter: it was a brief and touching exchange for kay who planned to walk home in socks before another man offered her another pair to go over her own. >> wouldn't you want someone to show compassion to you and not walk by you? what if you were the person who needs? >> reporter: overwhelmed and inspired by the ripple effects, kay shared the experience with friends and family on facebook. it's a post that's since gone viral, prompting people around the world to pay it forward. >> right now there's so many terrible things happening. absolutely terrible things happening. so i wasn't trying to do that to pat my own back. i just wanted to be like, this was really cool. this was an awesome moment for me and i wanted to share it with other people and i can't believe how something so small has turned in to something so great. >> kay says she hasn't seen the woman since but she hopes others will be inspired to help instead of looking past those in need. aj ross, channel 7 eyewitness news. >> what a great story. >> not small. it's a big deal.

in between shows i had to mc the stand with us gala and it was just pouring down drenching rain. it's good to know it's now out of here. it's over connecticut? >> it was teeming. east of the city now and will be gone by dawn. visibility near the george washington bridge. it's still pretty low. it will be an easier ride tomorrow morning. bit of a across breeze coming in out of the northwest. 63. so balmy right now and the low is 57. inch and a half of rainfall, still above average. there are your sunrise and sunset times. it will be a pretty friday. even when the front has gone through, the numbers aren't falling too rapidly. it will be fairly mild for november in the mid 50s but we're in the low 60s right now and the cold air is lagging way behind the fronts in the 30s in chicago. that's the type of chill that will try to get to us over the weekend. saturday night in to sunday and monday. so by early tomorrow morning, any clouds over the east end of long island, still a noticeable

mostly sunny during the middle 50s. probably feeling like about 50 degrees or so. breeze. there's the heavy rain it's back down to babylon. this will go through suffolk county. your rainfall amounts have been light. still a down to sandy hook. westchester, putnam, fairfield counties, still light to jersey. look at the winds coming out ahead of the front and now drying and the clouds withering behind the front. watch the futurecast here. still another few hours till the rain clears the east end, then by dawn other than early clouds in the twin forks, we have a a cool breeze. it will feel brisk outside but the afternoon is gorgeous, a lot of sunshine and temperatures should be in the middle 50s. tomorrow. 56 degrees. front swings off few high clouds around. it's a better half of the weekend.

look at it's going to be a few inches of snow in chicago over the weekend. our concern is where does this storm go over the weekend? breezy and cooler. mostly sunny a a.m. lingering clouds east . for tomorrow it's 56. mostly sunny and again a breezy brisk day. less wind. it will be in the feeling 52, sun and cloud. sunday we've been rain in the morning. good news with that trend. might be a brief shower north and clouds will give way to sun so i'm not concerned about any damp by monday, that's your coldest day in the 30s. we do have to watch i think we're okay and that will after that the all clear. nice and normal on tuesday. big travel day, 52. eastern third of the looks great. right now the early call for thanksgiving, partly to mostly sunny and 54, not a lot of wind to worry about for the balloons for the parade.
