they also say he was intoxicated. a manager at a bookstore on the upper west side was attacked in a possible case of anti-semitism. the manager says a man was pacing outside the store on broadway near 89th street. the man apparently walked inside, yelled that he was a muslim and made antijewish comments before punching the manager. the suspect rode off on a scooter. the manager's injuries were not serious. new at noon, a deadly stabbing overnight. clarks town police were called to the multifamily home in west nyack at 1:45 a.m. officers found a 66-year-old man with fatal stab wounds on the top floor. investigators are questioning a 19-year-old man who was at the scene. police have not made any arrests at this time. turning now to france where nearly 200 countries have come together for the u. n. climate

police found 28-year-old show shoshane rattigan shot in the head the police do not believe her young son witnessed the killing. police have not identified the ex-boyfriend. they say he was also in the house when rattigan was murdered and they want to question him at this time. a 20-year-old is facing an attempted murder charge for shooting and wounding a man inside a brooklyn apartment store. noel baes got into an argument in bushwick last month. things escalated and they say baez shot the man in the upper body. the victim is expected to survive. grab your rain gear. we are dodging rain showers all afternoon. meteorologist bill evans is here with our first look at the accuweather forecast. >> almost 2/10 of an inch of rain so far, and you see here on our live picture from our camera around 4 times square it's a rather gloomy gotham here at noontime, and more rain is on the way. we do have some mild temperatures at 50 degrees right now with these clouds and

you'll see on the radar a few more showers are coming up from the southwest. these showers are still continuing to run from the hudson river valley across fairfield county connecticut and long island. a bigger batch of heavier rain down from philly westward here is poised to come from the shenandoah valley and come right up to us. then we'll get a break tonight and then we'll watch the front that is back here and see how much rain that can bring us on wednesday. so so far we're looking at a couple tenths of an inch of rain. toms river about a half inch of rain. our futurecast is showing that batch of rain coming up this evening and tonight around 5, 6:00 this evening and on into the nighttime hours. then kind of overnight we kind of get a little break from the showers, but 7:00 we start back with showers again, and then here comes the front with heavier rain by about 4, 5:00, and that looks to kind of move through the area as we go through the evening. there will be some off and on showers you see off to our west.

plane crashed into the ocean between indonesia and singapore last december. today indonesian investigators say the pilot mishandled a rutter control problem that happened on that plane nearly two dozen times in a year. >> it was a series of errors by the air crew that caused this mishap. there was a very minor computer problem for 3 or 4 minutes flopped around out of control before it hit the ocean. >> abc's aviation consultant says this incident raises concerns about other budget airlines in asia. mystery surrounds the sudden death of the newly elected leader of alaska's capital city. the body of juneau mayor steven greg fisk was discovered inside his home. the 70-year-old was found yesterday by his son. they also say there was no evidence of forced entry into the home. fisk was elected in october. an autopsy will determine his cause of death. a fellow republican presidential candidate calling out donald trump over his

an ice storm, just some of the stories caught on camera between police and two suspects on a downtown atlanta street that sent innocent bystanders running for cover. can you hear all the bullets flying. police say officers opened fire around 7:45 last night. they say the two suspects took off during a routine traffic stop that crashed into a shuttle bus and then a pole outside of a hotel. the driver was arrested but the passenger began shooting at police. he was shot and killed. police say at least three guns and a duffel bag filled with marijuana found inside the suspect's car. call it a big baa humbug for this guy in virginia. he's going around neighborhoods stealing christmas lights. this home surveillance video made public as an attempt to find the scrooge. and finally a sign of the times in oklahoma in the wake of an ice storm when the temperatures started to rise

i'm lucy yang for channel 7 eyewitness news. >> thank you lucy. damming testimony from a former pennsylvania college paternity president against his frat brothers. his fellow student charged with murdering chun michael deng. he and four others tried to cover up deng's death in 2013. deng was repeatedly tackled. according to court documents, fraternity members waited an hour before deng was taken to the hospital even though he was unconscious. new york's former state assembly speaker plans to appeal his conviction on corruption charges. sheldon silver left manhattan federal court yesterday moments after he was found guilty in trial. the democrat free on bail as he awaits a sentencing date. he was convicted of fraud, money laundering and extortion. the 71-year-old could be sentenced to more than 100 years in prison.

>> you need to be in like one of those hallways that's really close and work your way up and down a hallway. you'd need a helmet and elbow pads for that thing if you're going out there, especially at my age. anyway, let's take a look outside. we'll show you what's going on. yeah, we have the cloudy skies. we've got a little drizzle, fog, and it's a gloomy gotham here at noontime as we look from our camera right around time square looking south. we can see a little bit of a shadowy gloomy, 1 world trade center all the way down into lower manhattan. cloudy skies, light rain, more rain is coming. 50 degrees, high humidity. east wind at 6. pressure's still falling. it was way up there. it continues to fall a little more every hour. north port and massapequa are at 50 degrees. and 53 toward queens. 50 around the park. 52 newark. these numbers are above our normal average afternoon high temperature which is right around 49. we've got a 9 to a 12 to a 16 miles an hour wind coming in

the rain is coming up from the south from the other direction and we'll have these showers and this batch of heavier rain getting into southern jersey. near cape may and burlington and over toward philly that will keep moving our way. we get a little break and the front back here. all this works its way through. 6:00 tonight we've got these showers around. and then you see midnight there's the next little batch. we get a few hours where we get a respite and the morning commute and then in the afternoon on our futurecast showing that heavy rain, or very heavy rain up here north and west is going to be going by. then the air at the end of that could be cold enough to create some snow up above i-84 here. it will be up toward albany. you've got to travel northward early on thursday you'll run into that cloudy, occasional rain and drizzle. 52 tonight. look at tomorrow, that wind goes southwest out ahead of that front and warms up to 57. your accuweather seven-day forecast, tomorrow evening, you

he saw it and two days later he passed away. there is now another man with that last request. nathan ashley is a big fan of the film but he'll never be able to see it in the theaters and this is why. nathan has als, lou gehrig's disease and he has lost all ability to do the things he loves. he and his wife kathleen are behind a social media campaign to bring star wars the force awakens to their home. they're hoping they'll be able to get a copy from the movie maker and that is also disney our parent company. hopefully they can work that out. >> you wish them well but there's so many needy people out there that all want to have a chance. how do you decide something like that. this is the time of year when parents bring their children to the mall to meet santa and get a picture. one couple in indiana not only got one that will put a smile on their faces but one that countless others are treasuring now. at first the parents they wanted to wake up the boy.
