tomorrow, lots of clouds out there, morning fog. we get into the 60s again during the afternoon, probably not quite as warm as what we had today because we will have more in the way of cloud cover. i don't expect much rain during the daylight hours tomorrow, but by 5:00 p.m., you'll have steadier rain approaching the delaware water, to new jersey, rapidly spreading across the region during the evening hours of tomorrow night before we start clearing things out after midnight, another mild day shaping up for tuesday. and, again, the cold coming in next weekend followed by milder air as we head into christmas week. here's the accuweather seven- day forecast. again, 63 tomorrow, maybe a passing shower during the day, steadier rain at night, breezy, milder, 62, a little bit cooler, 64 on wednesday, more rain comes into the picture on thursday and we'll really cool things off and it'll feel more like mid-december saturday and sunday along with some wind. bill evans has an update in the morning. >> thank you, jeff. finally tonight, the story of how a community came

the holiday season. >> city workers in louisiana threw out a christmas tree set up by a homeless man claiming it was a code violation but that wasn't right according to some people who decided to do something about it. >> a perfect christmas picture in an imperfect place. saving christmas for a homeless man who spends every night under an expressway and maybe providing some holiday spirit for the people who pass by every day. >> my purpose was to bring hope and restore hope and smiles. >> reporter: john had a tree outside his tent until it was thrown away friday morning, cleared out by city sanitation. >> it's pretty much what they took from me and i wanted it back. >> reporter: oh, and he did, one by one. ordinary people dropped by wanting to give back too, bringing trees, decorations, and even pinning a stocking to his tent.

says, is what happened next. >> says, well, i want to stop and help decorate. well, that really touched my heart. >> let's do what we've got, guys. >> i don't care what code violation it is. it's the holidays, and these people need everything that can uplift them as much as they can. >> reporter: he ended up with more trees than he can handle so he shared with homeless women living nearby. >> they cried, and -- because they haven't had a tree in a couple of years. >> reporter: and in return, another gift. >> this may not look like value, but to me, it's the reward that i wanted. >> reporter: payback from one of those women who, like him sbound by the kindness of strangers. >> that's what we should do by helping others. you don't have to have thousands or millions to help
