child abuse. she is out on bail tonight ordered to stay away from children. also in new jersey tonight a deadly hit and run. a man left for dead on the road and witnesses say a truckdriver briefly stopped after hitting the man and then took off. lucy yang is in newark. lucy. >> reporter: sade, newark police are looking for a tractor-trailer driver who killed a pedestrian and kept on going. it happened at the intersection of chancellor avenue and leslie street around 6:00. we're told the man was trying to cross the street when he was struck. an eyewitness said a truckdriver stopped, got out, then took off. the victim was rushed to newark university hospital where he was pronounced dead. witnesses say the tractor- trailer had a phone number on it which they tried to call. police are now trying to find that driver. live in newark, lucy yang for

>> lucy, thank you. detectives in westchester county hoping for new leads in a cold case that began with a chilling discovery. body parts were found inside a plastic bag in a wooded area in yonkers in september 20 12. the remains were later identified as 26-year-old pamela graddock. police are asking anyone with information to call them. meanwhile gathering in newtown, connecticut tonight to mark the third anniversary of the shooting massacre at sandy hack elementary. people gathered to remember the 20 children and six adults killed. flags across the state were flown at half-staff, and community members took part in acts of public service in tribute to the victims. apparently three people on long island have not heard because cops said they were caught on camera stealing holiday decorations from two front yards. two separate rip-offs.

park, the other in the hamlet of massapequa. >> reporter: christmas decorations plucked from the front yard of a home on island park. surveillance video captured a woman snatching decorative light-up lollipops. one by one her pile grows, her arms full. john has not one but two surveillance video cameras outside his home. the video helped investigators track down the woman they say is responsible for swiping the decorations. 31-year-old tiffany fisher was arrested and charged with petty larceny. she lives just blocks away from the scene of the holiday crime. >> what will this woman be getting from santa? >> coal. >> reporter: she's not the only christmas decoration thief caught on camera. in massapequa, a large inflatable penguin was stolen from a front yard.

jury deliberations will resume tomorrow in the trial of a baltimore police officer charged in the death of freddie gray. the jury will decide the fate of officer william porter, the first of six officers to be tried in the case. investigators say gray died after his neck was broken during a 45-minute ride in a police van. he was not buckled unand repeatedly asked officers to be taken to the hospital. the army sergeant held captive by the taliban will

light patchy showers over i- 95. no going to the island and over parts of monmouth and ocean county, then the last skinny line of showers that's the actual cold front. almost looks like a skinny squall lain. it moves through within 15 or 20 minutes. it's along i-80 and i-78 the next couple of hours. i think it's arriving in new york city roughly 2:00 in the morning, then moves east. there are still some showers behind that, but these are going to dry out. gusty winds out of the west. that's what comes tomorrow. if you notice the rain and snow over the upper lakes don't worry. the cold air bypassing us to the north and west, and we're actually going to stay mild. the highs behind the front were around 60 in chicago. that's where we see. these 30s here will go over to hudson bay. we'll eventually get that cold shot by the weekend. today's high popped up to 67, which would tie a record high. pretty amazing. all right, here's the future there is could.
