>> it happened this afternoon in new rochelle. surveillance video shows the driver losing control, rolling through the glass door and hitting a man who was standing at the register. mallory has the story. >> reporter: we have heard that the man hit is going to be okay. we are told an 88-year-old woman was driveing the car that plowed into the store. we are told she is fine tonight. as you can see t store front has been completely removed. this whole car plowed through the store. gary phillips was buying a lottery right next to the man who was hit. >> he was on alert. he was complaining about his leg. >> i was trying to help him out. >> he was frightened. >> reporter: again, that man is

it is still unclear why this woman lost control. live in new rochelle, mallory huff, channel 7 eyewitness news. police in long island trying to figure out who threw a brick on an overpass injuring two people below. it happened in uniondale. the brick smashed through the windshield of a bmv. the 21-year-old driver suffered bruises to his right shoulder. the 22-year-old passenger suffered a injury to her eye and other bruises on her face. also new tonight, a suspicious death in westchester county under investigation. a 39-year-old man's body was found last night in kitona in the town of bedford. the victim's identity and cause of death are not being released. anybody who may have seen anything is asked to call the

we are hearing from a father of a baby who was shot in the face siting in a parked car. in the hospital. we have more on what that father had to say. baby was kept overnight and will need to spend at least one more night here. he is running a very high fever and is still in a lot of pain. we just spoke with his father moments ago who was sitting in the parked car when his baby was shot in the face yesterday. now, michelle says when one fire erupted he was confused and scared. now, knowing his son will survive, he is angry. he says he is angry because he came to this country from egypt his kids. he thinks of this as his home. he works two jobs just to provide for his family, but now

should stay home to protect his kids or if he even want to send his kid to school anymore. the 18 month old was siting in a car seat when the bullet struck him in the check. sitting next to him was his five-year-old sister sandra. his daughter was so traumatized she would not sleep. >> she feels like the glass will be broken at home. she said i am scared to stay in my bedroom. i want to go to your home to your room. she is scared. >> reporter: nabashe says it is a miracle his son is alive and he is demanding answers from the mayor. he wants to know if the shooter will be caught or if he should feel safe. the infant was an unintended target.

and the air just off to north is just cold enough so that there could be some wintery weather and slippery travel issues. we will detail that in the full forecast coming up later in the half hour. >> thank you very much jeff. a developing story in the midwest and south where the threat of severe weather continues with new reports of possible tornadoes tonight. that storm system moving across the country has killed at least 45 people in seven states over the past four days. there are reports of as many as a dozen tornadoes around north texas. the governor there has made disaster declarations for four counties. it brought ice and snow to new mexico. the crippling conditions are in the texas panhandle. shots were fired early this morning on first avenue.

identified has 25-year-old fernando ervi and 27-year-old kashif bellfield. there were several people in the warehouse when the shots were fired. there may have been a rave party in there at the time of a shooting. the parents of a football player in staten island who collapsed during practice have filed a wrongful death lawsuit. the medical examiner says he died of hypertrophic cardio miopathy,. explosive report has peyton manning angrily denying accusations he used performing enhancing drugs in his return.

someone stole the figure from an outdoor nativity at saint claire church in cliffton. it was disoverred missing early this morning. that nativity scene was recently bought by parishioners at saint claire and put on display for the first time last week. a sexual predator is under arrest in new jersey avarices victim spotted him on the street a month after the attack. willie banks features a number of charges. he attacked a 22-year-old woman last month. on christmas eve, the woman called the police saying she spotted her attacker on the street. chicago police say the shooting death of a 55-year-old mother was an accident. tonight, friends and family of the woman are sharing their frustration. betty jones was hit by an officer's bullet early yesterday morning. this happened while police were

with some ice pellets initially. but i'm not expecting any road problems north and west of the city, a different story. snow, sleet, friezing rain. but there could be a prolonged enough period of winter precipitation to cause some icy travel into the tuesday morning commute. especially along and north 84. 59 in morristown. toms river, you got into the upper 60s today. here is the radar picture showing the showers moving from west to east across the area and a sprinkle in new york city now. some steadier rain over eastern pennsylvania. that will translate off to the east during the next couple of hours so that by 9:00 p.m., much of the rain is probably off to the south and east and affecting brooklyn and queens. down through parts of ocean counties in new jersey. this is associated with a cold front. behind the front becoming much chillier. by 7:00 in the morning we are down to 40 in the park. closing to freezing areas north

you get off to a sunny start. especially from the city and points north. clouds move in rapidly. we are overcast by 5:00 p.m. look what happens north and west of the city. temperatures stay at or below freezing. meanwhile, we are above freezing. we are not worried about any icy travel in the city and the coast. but north and west of the city, there is a snow, sleet, freezing rain moving in. by 7:00 a.m. tuesday, it is 30 in newburg. 31 sussex. there can still be some issues in the tuesday morning commute. meanwhile everywhere else has gone over to plain old rain. it will come down hard in times. snowfall, not a big issue at all. maybe upwards of an inch off to the north before the changeover. here is your accu-weather forecast tonight. a few showers this evening. otherwise, clearing and chilly. we are down to 40. much cooler tomorrow. increasing clouds t. rain comes in tomorrow night mixes in the onset.
