up to monticello and orange county, sullivan, 27 to 32 degrees. where is the snow? there it is off to the west. we have a southerly wind to a southeast wind coming up here. but we have this low pressure system, this clipper in the great lakes sliding eastward with an arctic front. there are a few snow showers popping up, back across pennsylvania and back to the west. behind that it will be cold air as we go into the afternoon. so, behind the system, we are looking at what will be brutally cold temperatures for tomorrow. should that snow be heavy, it will be up to our north around the catskills and up into the areas up above i-84 here and above i-80 in northern new jersey. right through the evening commute and across long island and the jersey shore, that will mix with rain. that makes it slippery across long island and along 95 in connecticut. still this is going on until midnight tonight when the cold

new at noon, a bizarre and scary incident on long island. a naked man has been arrested after being discovered inside a doctor's office. he is the man suspected of trying to take a baby from a woman in woodmere we told you about this morning even following her to a home. eyewitness news reporter lucy yang is in mineola with lucy? >> reporter: michelle, two bizarre and troubling incidents have been connected here in nassau county. one involving an attempted baby snatching and the other involving a naked man found sleeping on a couch in a morning. i know, it sounds crazy. this morning a woman arrived at her office in hewlett to find a naked man sleeping on the police were called. were connected. around noontime yesterday a baby-sitter claims a homeless man approached her and said she was, quote, in the stroller.

hurried home with the 20-month- old toddler. the man then broke into her house demanding the deed dead baby. police were called but by then he had run off. detectives found surveillance video at a nearby pizza parlor that they believe shows the homeless man. now they have arrested him and linked him with the two incidents. nassau county police just held a news conference that broke up a few minutes ago. let's hear what they had to say. >> the sitter in this case did a phenomenal job. when she got to the residence, she locked the doors. when she first was encountered by the subject, she turned around and tried to get away as fast as she could. >> reporter: nassau county police praising the actions of that baby-sittedder for keeping her head cool and doing the right thing. nassau county police believe a homeless man found sleeping in a therapist office is the same man that tried to abduct the baby. he has been identified as 44- year-old craig miskowski. his last known address was in

a tractor trailer flipped and dumped a load of garr bang all over the northbound lanes. it happened on the ramp from tillery street. some of the trash fell off the expressway on to park avenue. sanitation workers came in to clean it up. the truck driver suffered a minor injury. tonight president obama gives his final state of the union address and the white house says it will be very different from others. rather than a lauren dry list of proposals, it will be a speech about successes the last seven years. abc's stephanie ramos has details from washington. >> reporter: president obama says he is optimistic going into this new year because of past successes and is hopeful about what is to come. >> the president of the united states. >> reporter: in his final year in office, president obama will deliver the last state of the union address to congress. instead of trying to persuade the joint session to work with him in 2016 on a legislative to

the clouds from west to east. 43, 45 down the jersey shore. this is the precipitation. i took the pictures off this to show you where the snow and rain is. on the radar, it's showing spots, probably not down to the ground. that is called virga, it's not getting to the surface yet. i would garner that this gets to the surface in sussex or warren county in about an hour. we are looking at 2:00 on the computer models to that starting. you see the temperatures dropping here once we get to sunset around 4:46. tonight the cold air sweeps in. spotty places will have roadways that will continue to see cold air creating black ice overnight and into tomorrow morning's commute and on sidewalks, too. the winds tomorrow afternoon are going to get in the 20 miles per hour range and then check out the windchills for tomorrow as yes get to 8:00 in

now to some of the stories caught on camera and caught our attention. we begin with a woman in new mexico that gave police the slip twice and managed to steal one of their cruisers. they had arrested her at a bank for a bounced check but somehow she got out of the kutches and jumped behind the wheel of the cruisers sparking a -- got out and jumped behind the wheel of the cruiser. watch what one man stole from a pet store in portland, oregon. he grabbed a python. yes, a python and stuffed it down the front of his pants then carefully walked out of the store. the store's manager later noticed the snake was gone and

finished accepting money to his three small children in el salvador. he takes a cab to his mother's place on candlewood road in bayshore for christmas dinner. you see his mother pleading nor help. we just got through speaking to her. there is surveillance video. in the video, he is seen after he gets out of the cab. he then crosses candlewood and that's when a dark four-door sedan strikes him and keeps going. police are asking anyone with information to please come forward. >> we want to put the word out to body shops in the area. we believe there may be damage to the passenger front side of the vehicle after examining the video of the hit and run. we ask that the body shops keep an eye out for any vehicles that fit the description. >> reporter: now, once again,
